Two stars for really friendly staff. Shawndee at the office who coordinates booking and the tech who visited were both genuine and very courteous.
I moved into a condo/​loft downtown that was constructed less than 5 years ago. It appears the HVAC unit has been serviced by BCM all along (including two general maintenance service visits in 2011). When I moved in the heat setting was not working. Since there was a sticker on the unit indicating BCM had serviced the unit in the past — I called them. They wanted $ 130 for the service call (on the surface this seemed a bit high since it is roughly 2 hours worth of tech time just to show up).
The tech showed up and after about 10 minutes determined the problem was a faulty thermostat. He called into the office and the quote to replace the thermostat — a whopping additional $ 430. So the total for this less than 1 hour visit would have been $ 550.
I went onto Amazon quickly and saw that the thermostat they were going to install could be bought for $ 52…so $ 500 in labor charges to show up and hook up the wires for a new thermostat in the exact same location… I don’t think so. Paid them the $ 130 and hired another company to do the thermostat install at a MUCH LOWER price. Just to make sure any future occupants of this unit don’t fall prey — the BCM service sticker has been scraped off the unit.
If you’re into getting raped by someone who is just so damn friendly… this is your firm.
