Located near residential homes, Twin Peaks can be accessed through Silverset Park. The trail itself, was hard to follow. There were many different trails to the side and the signs didn’t help. I found the peaks just following one of the small trails. The trails have varying steep hills and loose gravel. On my way up the peaks, I didn’t know which trails to follow since there were so many small trails. So I ended up going on one of the trails to the right of the peaks, which probably was one of the harder ones since there were so many loose rocks and steep inclines. The view from the top is nice though, especially with the breeze and sunshine. I saw a group of women that came from the left side of the peaks and so I took that trail back down. That trail ended up being way easier to follow and now I know which trail to use to go up now. It took me about 1 hr and 15 minutes including the times I got lost or took the wrong trail and had to go back. Long story short: nice relatively quick hike with a maze of trails and steep gravely inclines.

Short decent hike, but the signs need to be fixed to avoid wrong paths taken. It’s super rocky, good uphills, and nice breeze too. Dog and Kid friendly. I suggest hiking boots for sure cause some of the dirt roads are cracked and if you feel like climbing up the rocks. I believe this will help out too for that grip factor. If you climb up some rocks look for #TeamBubs in teal & yellow gold crayola. Good Luck!

Excellent 2 mile RT hike for 360 degree views. Takes about 1.25 hr. Perfect for a short hike for a great workout. To boot, the trailhead is so close by my house. I highly recommend this hike if you don’t have time for Potato chip rock or Iron Mountain.

Hiked this on Thanksgiving, fully expecting a Cowles Mountain-like crowd. Only saw three other people. Lovely. Great view at the top, some challenging rock scrambles and close to many suburbs. Can get a little slippery in the sandy dirt. I lost my footing on the way down and got a bruise on my ass the exact shape and size of a Canon Elf.

This is a short hike and small network of trails, but it is great to have this area available for hiking almost literally out my backdoor. This is my go to place to go running now as I dislike running next to busy roads. The trail head is literally a 5 minute jog from my house. Great view from the top of Twin Peaks, beautiful scenery and it is a fairly steep climb too so you get a good workout.

Short hike not too far away from San Diego in Poway, or work your calves with the mountain bike. You’ll have to leave your bike or do what we did and carry the bike to the top. No easy task with the water run off, erosion and big rocks, but it’s a great workout. Hike: ~2mi round trip, 700′ elevation gain to Peak Bike: Steep Hills, awesome downhill once you’re at the peak(look at the backside for a quicker way down with fast downhill riding), a few fire roads branch off. Not really an extensive network of trails, but not bad for a quick ride. Views up top are awesome, you can see La Jolla and the ocean beyond looking east, and Iron Mountain looking West. Dogs are allowed. And in my book, welcome. And when you’re done, play in the playground, I mean who doesn’t enjoy swings
