We recently moved into the area and saw this restaurant while at the Pizza Hut next door. I decided to give them a try and boy was I pleased! The meats are cooked to order. I’ve tried the pork chop, fried chicken and my husband has tried the fried livers. Our favorite sides are the dressing, rice, and okra. The food is seasoned so well, like I would expect for home cooking. Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Ok, I wanted something light, so only got a BLT. It was by far the best one I ever had. Loads of bacon perfectly cooked, tomatos tasted like they came from a garden, bread lightly toasted and tasty. Cook is very talented. Doesn’t look large from outside, but inside is clean and all business. 100 clenliness rating! Three tables to sit at or take out. People were so friendly giving suggestions taking us through their menu. Prices are about what it would cost to make your own food(but if i made it, it wouldn’t be as good). Lots of choices. I will be back to try others. They seem to have a large number of specials daily. Look firward to next visit to see what else they make.

Stopped in tonight for the first time after noticing them a while back. I’m so glad we did. The 2 guys working there were so friendly and helpful. The food Is fantastic and the portions are big. I highly recommend the porkchops, rice and gravy, but I plan on eventually trying everything. I ended up getting a to go menu because they have such an extensive menu that I don’t even think I saw everything they had to offer.

I have passed this place a hundred times or more and finally decided to give them a try. They are next to a Pizza Hut that I go to at times. They had several daily specials and lots of choices on their menu. I decided to get the grilled tilapia blackened with a sideof pinto beans and rice and gravy. It also comes with a choice of bread so I took cornbread. When I got home I could not believe how delicious everything was. It was as good as homemade. I will definitely return and be a lifetime customer. I just wish everyone in the area would give them a try and they will see how good this food is. The people behind the counter I assume they are the owners and are really friendly and give great service. The food does not take long to prepare I waited about 10 minutes max. I definitely give them five stars everything was great about this place.

The rating is for the food, which is pretty good overall. «Southern» cooking. Extensive menu for the size of the place which is basically just a hole in the wall inside an old shopping center in Powder Springs. They have a range of dinners that can vary from chicken and meat loaf to fish, vegetable plates, sandwiches, and burgers(even a turkey burger), etc. I’ve tried most of their items since they’ve opened and for the most part I’m good with it. Sometimes the fries come out a little soggy/limp but still ok, and I wasn’t crazy about the burgers — but the dinners, vegetables always seem fine and the prices are right. They typically score from 91 to 100A on their inspection reports on the wall. Only two complaints, really: One is that they have three tables where you can eat there, but no public rest room, so it makes it very inconvenient if you want to wash your hands before eating(or need to pee before or after, etc), so really I consider this much more of a «take out» place than anything. Also, the guy who answers the phone(son?) to take orders pretty much just communicates very low in volume, muffled, and with single words — «Yea… Uhhuh… Ok… What… «, etc., but the orders are taken correctly so just don’t expect an actual conversation if you call in — If I owned it I would probably give him some pointers on effective communication with customers(picky like that — sorry). But these are minor things, but keeps it from getting a 4.5 if that were on here. Overall worth the visit, though, and won’t break the bank for home cooking.

Vegetarian, so I had vegetable plates both visits. This is Grandmama’s kind of home cooking. Black-eyed peas, collard greens, corn, slaw, corn muffins and sweet tea. Tiny place; counter service, 3 tables with seating for 12 very friendly people;). Most business is to-go. Probably best home cooking in Powder Springs. If you disapprove of styrofoam, plastic cutlery, or deep Southern cooking, this not for you. Looking forward to these folks growing and getting a bigger place.
