Hey! Another ‘first to review.’ And I have to say — I was reluctant to review — because I definitely think these ladies would get a five star review — from a different kind of client. .. . but here’s the thing. I work a lot — and I have a lot of other people’s schedules that I have to work around: clients /family /etc. So. .. if it takes me over a month to actually speak to a live person — to schedule an appointment — when /if we ever actually get together — I’m going to need you to make sparks fly out of my butt when that massage actually happens. So. .. I was at a nail salon — and asked the proprietor whether she had a massage therapist she partnered with or recommended. She did not — but the client next to me recommended this company. She gave them a GLOWING recommendation! I called them the next day. I waited to hear back — then called them 4 — 5 days later. Then after no response — googled them and emailed them using the email address on their website. Approximately 48 hours later — I got a call back — only to find out — there are only 2 therapists(owner /operators). And the one I was trying to reach was on vacation. I was told(by the partner-therapist) that the vacationing therapist would be notified and would call me upon her return. When I mentioned my difficulty in reaching them — therapist somewhat snarkily told me that they can’t answer the phone when they are servicing other clients. Um. Yeah. I know that — but unless you’re an insane person — set aside an hour each day to check messages and return calls. But whatever — one of your client’s raved so much about you — I’m willing to give your partner a try. Cut to over a month later — no call back from therapist that was on vacation — and once again — I’m feening for a massage — and decide to try contacting them again. This time — I call repeatedly and email. Finally hear back from them after a week — and make the appointment. I’m asked if I would like a reminder call — I say yes. PLEASE. Lo and behold a day before the appointment — my phone crashes and burns — it won’t sync with my calendar. It won’t allow me connect to email, surf the web or even make outgoing calls. In fact — all it will let me do is RECEIVE calls. So even though I’m pretty certain my appointment is on this particular day — I’m not 100%certain. Yes. Shame on me for relying on technology. Now that I can’t access my calendar — I’m feeling all sorts of crazy. But I’m so tense — I figure what they hey — head that way no matter what. But I call them from a landline before driving over. No answer. Qu’el surprise! I get there and when I walk in — both therapists(Jackie and Teresa) are at the desk looking at me like I just sprouted a second head. Not on the phone. No clients. I guess they certainly could have just gotten off the phone and or finished with clients — but something tells me they like being a little hard to reach — in an elitist-in-demand sort of way. Lol. Therapist says, «Are you Denise?» I say, Yes. and ask if they forgot my reminder call — because I’m feeling super cranky and super evil. My therapist assures me that she called me. Which I don’t believe. I had 12 messages that day — none from them. But whatever. Place was nice, clean, quiet. Therapist was competent. But I was so tense and so irritable — I talked the whole time and I 100% did not TRULY allow myself to relax. I was just so irritated — not just with my life — but with the therapist. I really should have just given up on trying to reach them — because unless the Messiah himself walked into that room and gave me a scalp massage — I probably wasn’t going to leave happy. Upon my new patient ‘interview’ — I did mention, again, how frustrating I found the process of trying to schedule the appointment — and I was given a ‘nice’(or nicer than before) spiel about how therapists are tools and they have to be maintained, etc) which is fine but this practice is closed on weekends and it seems that they aren’t available a whole lot of hours during the week — though this could simply be because they have regulars that consume the biggest portion of their schedule. And I have to say — once again — I can see how most of their clients would give them a MUCH, MUCH higher review. They specialize in pain management. And they’ve been doing this for over decade. So clearly — they are doing something right — and probably have a dedicated clientele. But for people like me — & a lot of people in the millennium — I either need a full time receptionist to schedule my appts — or I need to be able to reach you via text /email /or online scheduler because I just can’t schedule my massages out a month in advance. If I was independently wealthy — and didn’t have to be so fluid in my own schedule, maybe baby — but alas — that is not the case. .
