Decent local spot with great reviews and history. We were house hunting in the area and stopped in… I mean, DDD even recommended it! Food was good, enough. The dark haired lady that“greeted” us was short and rude… thankfully she wasn’t our waitress. Go to eat, but… beware of her.

The food deserves 5 stars. Had a gyro and fries and an omelette and both were great. However, was a bit miffed on a fall Sunday when we showed up at 1:45(sign on door says they close at 2). Had to initiate conversation with an employee to see if we could sit down and were then told«you’re going to have to order in a hurry or the kitchen might not make your food». Um what? So the server comes back 3 minutes later and forces my wife to order, so we could get our meal. Look, if the sign says you close at 2, then that’s when you should close. If the kitchen closes at 1:45, or you might not«get your meal» if you show up then this should be stated on the sign. I think a business as well-liked and known as this place would have a little more respect for their customers than to make them guess if their order will be made or not, clearly within the posted business hours.

YUM. Perfect Greek Diner complete with delicious food, strong coffee and friendly service. Ownership always on site. Will definitely be back. A lot.

I’m torn. Food is yummy(edging on greasy spoon) but the way you seat yourself is first come first serve. There are two doorways so it’s a battle of who came in first, there are jackass parties of one who sit at a 4-top, and just general chaos and inefficiency

Love this place. Great food now and later when I heat up the leftovers. Nice portions and it’s all good!

Awful experience. Waited over half hour for our food while those that came in after us were served first. Sausage was undercooked and not edible. No apologies for the delay. Omelette was mediocre. We will not be back

Went to Hellas a few times, and was often met with a lot of attitude from some of the servers. By and large, they don’t listen to simple instructions and get fussy when the same thing is asked over and over. On one visit, I counted no less than eight screw-ups. But worse than this is how I was treated by the cook, Demo. He asked, «Why do you have a handicapped sticker on your car? You don’t look handicapped. Is that not your car?» Never mind that it’s a disabled veteran plate for service-connected injuries, with the word«veteran» in all caps. I just responded by asking if he was a doctor. And by the way, I wasn’t parked in a handicapped spot. Players take on the demeanor of the coach, which explains why this place is such a disaster.

It’s important to realize this isn’t some ritzy, hip restaurant. It’s a homey, no fuss, consistent breakfast/lunch spot– and after countless visits it has never disappointed. The servings are huge and the pricing is fair. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu with sausage. I especially recommend a sausage and cheese omelet, and even more so the sausage gravy and biscuits– I continually crave this dish all the way across the country. Their french toast are also amazing– the bread used will truly make you wish all french toast was made the same way. The coffee is always fresh and the waitresses make sure your mug stays full. This is by far the best breakfast spot in the area(you’d be foolish to visit Scramblers or Bob Evans instead)

Hellas is an obvious Greek family owned small hole in the wall, but don’t judge a book by its cover… I’ve been coming here since I was in high school, but I realized moving away for college I crave it almost every Sunday. I have only ordered breakfast so can only speak on that behalf. When receiving my first two, two and two plate(2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon/sausage), the pancakes looked so perfect with the melted butter on top I couldn’t help myself but indulge. The pancakes are crispy I almost want to call them«fried.» They are unreal! This is also the only restaurant I will eat eggs at… I don’t even like eggs, but something about Hellas that never seems to stop me. Not only are their pancakes amazing, their fresh toast comes made with thick French bread. They are mountainous! I tend to flip a coin to figure out which of the two to order. Just recently I ordered their Greek omelet on a whim and it was as expected, AMAZING! It’s a baked ham with mushrooms(I removed) and roasted tomatoes with fresh wonderful feta cheese to top it off. So next time your in town, do yourself a favor and please give this wonderful place a visit. You won’t be disappointed.

FOOD: Pictures of the dark brown avocado and awful meat from inside the polystyrene boxes of illness are uploaded here to spare you such a nauseating ordeal. Avoid like the plague. Oh, and ketchup sachets were sticky with Iced Tea, somehow. STAFF: The staff are unbearably rude. The hunched fellow in the dirty jumper, who sounds like the owners brother from reading other reviews, thought it would be acceptable to wipe down our plastic cutlery with his bare hands. He also shouted at another customer who clearly was given the wrong order. A blonde waitress was attentive throughout but her moody female colleague appeared annoyed and largely unhelpful. POSITIVES: There’s parking and other dining options nearby.

Have been going here for years, originally back when it was the smaller place across the street. Great omelets, French toast, and best biscuits and gravy in town. Great place to break away from the other chain places. Small setting but moves quickly.

Hellas is great. It’s always packed on Sat and Sun but the wait is a lot quicker than you think it is going to be. The food is great and the portion sizes are huge. There omlets and home fries are enough to split between two people. The home fries could use a little more seasoning but there is a bottle of hot sauce on the table which helps out. Their biscuits and gravy is awesome! The service is great and food comes out very fast no matter how busy they are.

We just ate there this morning for the first time with our 14 month old son. We loved it!!! Th staff is incredibly nice and the omelettes were huge and delicious !!! So are their fried breakfast potatoes! My son shared food with us and loved it all. They definitely stay busy but it is well worth it!

Looking for down home no frills meals? Come to Hellas. Whether breakfast or lunch, they have all the basic hearty dishes like pancakes, french toast, bacon, multiple omelettes, sandwiches and salads at very affordable prices. My boyfriend and his family have frequented this spot since they were kids and are friends with the owners. First time we came here was for sit-down breakfast. It was packed but we lucked out with a table. While all the staff were very friendly and attentive, there was a LONG wait for food. Lucky my boyfriend and I weren’t in a rush. I ordered a fried green tomato omelette with toast — very basic but satisfied my taste buds. I also tried my boyfriend’s home fries which were ok but not as crispy as I like them. The second visit, his mom picked up food to go before our flight back home. She ordered us the Italian sub, which my boyfriend has loved since childhood. He described it as an open faced pizza sub, and that’s exactly how it looked and tasted. Very greasy and heavy but still delicious — I could only eat half cause they piled on steak fries as a side order. Overall a good food place that doesn’t break the bank for a family meal!

Order as soon as possible because it takes forever to get your food when they are packed. Also, they don’t serve lunch on weekends at any time.

Overall, a solid«Not bad.» Service was fine, coffee was really good. My Santa Fe omelette was a little over done.(See picture). My wife and son both had biscuits and gravy and that was pretty good though we thought the potatoes were over buttered. Might come back again.

«Family Friendly Restaurant»… I guess if your family uses the F word all the time at home, then Demo’s blue language makes Hellas a Family Friendly Restaurant. I have found the following to be true over the years, although I have not been there in at least three years because Demo’s a noxious behavior. Pros: Great food at fair prices. Cons: Demo, the man up front and the owner’s brother is an obnoxious, foul mouthed nitwit. If Bill the owner, cook, and really nice man were not his brother, Demo would have been fired years ago.

Nothing fancy about this place. It’s a family run business that is a bit off the beaten path. It is a small restuarant that primarily focuses on breakfast and lunch, although they are open three evenings during the week these days. Seating is cramped and limited. I was not sure, but simply grabbed a spot to sit down as nobody seemed to notice us coming in the door. Staff were distant and not attentive. However, it is a place where there are quite a few regulars that seem to know the staff. Prices are reasonable. Food was fresh and fairly decent. Would I go back again? Sure, if I am looking for something different. Would it be one of my first choices to return? Not really. There are so many other places around that equally offer good or better food as well as better service.
