Front desk staff has gone from friendly and professional to snobbish and indifferent. Customer loyalty program no longer rewards you for your patronage but is an attempt to upsell other services. While I absolutely love my stylist and the work she does, I can go to a number of other places and be ignored for less money. It’s too bad-​I really enjoyed going to JBentley for a number of years and referred several friends and family members who in turn became regulars themselves. I have no doubt they will join me at the next place I find.

I go to Marlo for cut and color and she is awesome! I should mention I’m very picky with my hair and I always walk out happy.

I have been coming here for quite some time for massages and Jessica is the best! Her technique is awesome, firm without it being painful is just what I was looking for. And she always asks if there areas you want her focus on such shoulders, lower back etc. Not to mention she is just about the nicest person you would ever want to meet. On top of that the salon offers a VIP program where as long as you get one massage a moth it’s at discounted rate! I have never had any other services here but highly recommend Jessica for a massage

Kelly V. does my eye lash extensions. She is fabulous! Very professional and always on time. Highly recommend her! I get compliments on my eye lash extensions all the time… I wouldn’t go anywhere else for lashes because of Kelly and her skill in doing them! Yes price is a bit high but you get what you pay for… not sure I would «want» a «bargain» price when it comes to work around my eyes… go to Kelly with confidence.

Everyone here is extremely friendly, and all they want is to make sure you’re satisfied with the service you requested.
Once I got my hair colored, wine-​colored highlights put in my hair, and when I got home I realized that you couldn’t even see them, my hair was too dark. So we called back and asked what we can do to fix it and they set up a FREE session to fix it, brought in their best hair-​dye girl, and she added caramel highlights behind my wine ones and BOOM, problem solved. They were extremely courteous and kind!
They are glad to take in any suggestions, and give you good and honest feedback, and they will let you know if a hairstyle or color won’t look good on you and try and work out to get the best look for you.
Same goes with the nail and waxing salons, they have always been really great, and very patient with me as I picked out my polish colors!
Price is hefty, but you get what you pay for. Totally recommend!

The quality did not meet the price of the cut.

In the past few months, I’ve had a pedicure, facial wax, and brazilian here. The person who did my pedicure was very friendly and professional – I’m afraid I talked her ear off! I booked an appointment for my mother and myself shortly before my wedding to get our faces waxed– she was pleased with the service, as was I. My eyebrows were done perfectly. I also had a brazilian, which I’d never had before, and though it stung a bit, the Esthetician distracted me with some good conversation. I enjoy chatting with the people who work there, and the service is wonderful. Plus: they also have a rewards program if you plan to visit here often.

Just got my haircut from Amber at J. Bentley and loved every bit of it :) Definitely going back to this salon. The atmosphere and friendly staff is absolutely perfect.

I think the locations and serenity is wonderful. I have had two massages here in the past three months.
I think it is professional, clean, prompt services. My first massage was average at best, I have a very tight back from working in a computer all day and the major points were not addressed.
My second massage really addressed my troubled spots. It was the best massage I have had in years.
In both cases the massages lasted 50 minutes not 60. Perhaps this is their standard; but I have found with other studio the changing time is not part of the massage time.
I will gladly go back because of the location to see the second masseuse as she was extremely effective and addresses all on my problem areas.

I contacted J Bentley and spoke with Josh Glassford a Key part in all this and NO you will not find his picture on the Meet the Team at J Bentleys Tab. This I’m sure is a over site because He Masterminded a Fully Day Spa package for my wife as a Christmas Present and based on my description of my wife, what she likes, how she likes to dress, feel etc, Josh custom picked out the team of Ladies who would be with here on this day. My wife Cheryl is a little picky when it comes to her hair and massage. So for her to come home and say OMG WOW… I loved all those ladies. HAIR– was DAWN (A female Picasso) She was key, because if the hair is wrong the day is wrong. Not to worry, she looked Beautiful and a very nice New look for her. Massage was Vicki and my wife says Honey I’m sorry but she is better then you, and I take pride in my massages and I know I’m good. Thanks… Jane did her Manicure and Pedicure and my wife said they laughed and talked and really just had a Great time. and it felt soooo good. This was by far the BEST present I could have bought my wife for Christmas or anytime for that matter and she deserves it for just being my wife and loving me unconditionally Thank You again JOSH you deserve a lot of the credit and the LADIES of Bentley, s R-​O-​C-​K Wooooooo Sincerely Teddy Edstrom

I’ve been hearing a lot about J. Bentley for quite a while so decided to trade in my over grown hair style for a new look. Chris Owens was my stylist and he is is amazing! I got a fantastic cut and highlights. This Spa definitely lived up to the hype.
I would recommend Chris for anyone who is looking for a new look! He is amazingly talented and personable.

I spent a few years bouncing around different salons trying to find someone that could give me a decent haircut. Now, I don’t have complicated hair. I never expected to have any problem getting a decent cut, but time after time, I would walk out disappointed or angry. It’s just longish layers! Nothing cutting edge or trendy or heavily styled. Finally, I took the plunge and made an appointment at J. Bentley. They scheduled me with Brit B. I have been deliriously happy with my hair ever since. I’ve referred many, but so far one friend has been able to give Brit a try, and she’s had the same euphoria. She then referred one person, and same thing: Brit has a new loyal customer. She is so amazing at doing what is best for each individual. She’s also a ton of fun to talk to for an hour!
I’ve also had a facial at J. Bently, and while I forget the technician’s name, she was wonderful also. Easy to talk to, informative, helpful, and never too pushy. The prices are a little steep for me here, but I’ve never felt so comfortable in a salon or spa as I do here, so it is worth it to me.
Another wonderful perk: free babysitting on Tuesdays! My kids have a lot of fun hanging out with the babysitter, tons of toys, and usually other kids. They typically aren’t ready to go when I’m finished with my appointment! This is so convenient for me, because I hate taking time after work or on a weekend to get a haircut, and I don’t currently work Tuesdays.
I also have to mention that the staff at the front desk is always incredibly nice and accommodating. I never feel like they mind one bit if I walk through their door in frumpy mom-​mode, which is often the case. It’s so nice feeling welcome and deserving, which is certainly not a feeling I get at other places which seem to be seething with competition between the stylists and the customers. I don’t need that. There are more important things to me, and I’m more of a go-​natural gal most of the time. J. Bentley has no problem with that, but they also wouldn’t care if I preferred to go high-​glam. To each her own!

I have been going to J. Bentley’s for approximately 4 years for my hair services. Brittany is my stylist and I love her! I am a RN and one of my patients came into our office with the most adorable haircut. I asked her where she got it cut and I’ve been going there ever since.
Brittany is very talented. When I first started going to her, I had her cut it in a short angled (or stacked) bob. It is hard to find someone who knows how to do that cut but she does it perfectly. Since then, I have been growing my hair out. Brittany has gotten me through that terrible growing out phase (you know the one… right when it starts hitting the back of your neck and drives you crazy). My hair is now half way down my back and I love it. I’ve never had long hair because it is so thick. Brittany does an amazing job of texturizing my hair perfectly. I do not typically color my hair but have had her color it a few times and she does an amazing job with color too. I highly recommend Brittany and J. Bentley’s salon.
Through all of the times I have been to J. Bentley’s I have never had to wait an excessive amount of time. I think at most, I had to wait 15 minutes (on a Saturday). I used to go to another salon and it was like going to the Dr’s office where you have to wait 30 to 60 mins to go back for your services.
I no longer live in that area but I still drive approx 25 to 30 mins to get there because it is worth it. I do admit that it is pricey but again… it is worth it. If you prebook your future appointments, they do offer a small discount. They also give you $ 10 off your next service if you refer new customers. I have referred several of my girlfriends to Brittany.
Update****as of June 2012, Brittany is no longer working for J. Bentley. She is now working at Salons of Powell. If you are looking for a great hair stylist… check her out at her new place. She no longer works for a salon per se, as she rents her chair now… which is great for customers because her prices are much more affordable. I used to pay around $ 50 for a haircut and this time it was around $ 35.

I was a Kennths customer but now I am a J. Bentley Customer! I was with Sarah D. and she knows her products and knows her hair and I walked out of there feeling like a million dollars! She taught me how to style my hair which I was one of those that was not that talented in that department and now I do it with ease. I had a great experience and plan on going back soon to get some color put in!

I got two groupon deals for my boyfriend and I to get massages, hydrotherapy, and the sugar scrub.
I didn’t get a confirmation the day before so I called the day of. I asked if my appointment was still at 11am but they said it had been 1230. When I got there at 1230 they told me that I was over an hour late for my appointment and would have to reschedule.
We were both obviously upset by this but the women at the desk kept inferring that it must have been my mistake. We were able to fit in the massage but the only effort they made to remedy the situation was to give us two goody bags with nail files, a mini nail polish, eye cream samples and $ 10 off my next visit (no thanks)– they claimed it was the equivilant to the cost of sugar scrub and hydro therapy.
My boyfriend really loves his sparkly green nail polish.

Me and my hair were stressed out after the recent move and I said the hell with trying to do my hair myself — so off I went to explore. After seeing the reviews here on Unilocal I walked into the place, explained my needs, and they took me on a tour. (Interesting concept of if you book services for a group you can BYOB — hope that applies to just a single)
I made an appointment with a Kara to have a cut and color and although it is expensive, she did a good job. She explained every step, asked me what I wanted done and as I have sensitive skin — made sure to use products least likely to irritate. I’d like to explore other places to have things to compare, but JB’s is definitely on my keeper list.

I had a great experience at J. Bentley. The customer service is outstanding and the many little extras (beverages, to-​go flip flops after pedicure, massage chairs, etc) make it an A+ in my book. The employees are friendly and fun and the stylists are extremely knowledgeable and talented.

I recently had a chance to get a makeover at J. Bentley Studio in the middle-​of-​nowhere (at least to me) Powell, Ohio. Ordinarily I would never venture up that way, but hey, it was a free makeover, who turns that down? Anyway, now I’m hooked. It’s a casual and cool salon and spa like no other that I have checked out in the ‘bus and I guess I’m just gonna have to suck up the 30 minute drive time because I got the best haircut of my life here!
I got a cut, color, eyebrow wax, eyebrow tint and makeup, so I interacted with 3 different stylists, all of whom were amazingly friendly and fun to work with — definitely not the uptight people you usually find in an upscale salon. And they all did a kickass job, too.
It’s also great that they have computers at each station for clients use — need to check your e-​mail or tweet about your hot new ‘do? There’s a monitor for that!
It’s pricey, but it’s worth it.

By far, this is the best salon that i’ve ever attended. They really did a miracle with my hair. They’re downright artists. It probably ended up as the most gorgeous coloring job i’ve ever received. The treatment that I received there was even better than I could have possibly expected.
It was lovely to be treated like such a princess. And to come out looking so amazing.

Except for being so far away (located in Powell), J. Bentley has it all. It is a full service salon and spa, with a step above in every area. At each hair tech station is a computer for the clients’ use. You also get a complementary DVD of the styling process for at home use! On the walls of the salon are poster sized pictures of real clients. Each hair style is the work of an artist at the salon.
Before entering the spa, you will pass by the men’s and women’s lounge. Because genders have different definitions of what it means to relax, the rooms are separated.
At J. Bentley, you are treated with the highest level of respect and attention. It’s a wonderful escape from the anxiety of the real world.
