I visited Bodie Vineyards, today. The 4 stars is for the experience. Chatting with Mr. Clyde Bodie was a real treat. This 86 year old has a lot to say. The wines take a back seat in this experience. There were just 2 wines, but 3 vintages of the white wine available.

A very small operation, Bodie Vineyards is a farm winery off route 60, only about 20 minutes from the Southside and Richmond. Bodie is still starting out and only has 2 wines, with 1 blend in the works, but I have to say I was very impressed with the complexity of their reds, especially in Virginia. The owners are also very hospitable and we enjoyed learning and talking to them about their wines and challenges of the wine industry. Definitely check out Bodie on your central virginia winery tour.
