We moved to Prescott 8 months ago and we have been missing a good sushi place so we were so happy to find this place. My hubby and I came here for dinner and it was packed by 6pm. Their dinner hours are 4:30pm until 9pm. We sat at the sushi bar to check out the chefs and check out the fish on display. I’m happy to report the fish were all very fresh :) They slice them a little bit too thick for my preference but all of the sushi we had were good. We ordered 2 rolls… one of them is the Samurai roll and it is by far the spiciest sushi roll we’ve ever had! I’m so glad we ate the sushi first or we would not have been able to taste the subtleness of the fish because this roll was very spicy. We also ordered 2 quail egg shooters, don’t let the look fool you, it was really yummy. They use ponzu sauce so the tang was perfect for the eggs. They had fresh oysters so we ordered ½ dozen of those and they used ponzu sauce again so it tasted like an Asian style mignonette. Two large beers and all the food, the price was very reasonable. I gave them 3 stars, only because I’m Japanese and a sushi snob :) Overall, for a small town sushi restaurant they were yummy. We will definitely come back again.

Where do i start with this place. My family and I arrived in Prescott as a day trip to see some sights around 4 and it looked empty. OK they don’t open again till 4:30 so dont be fooled if you arrive early. Gave us a little time to walk around snow on the ground and located in a nice hill style setting. As soon as 4:30 hit people started pulling in out of no where. Went in was welcomed right away by our waitress and sat down. Looked around the place and had that feel of a nicer Sushi bar. Mentioned to them we had never been there and was somewhat a newbie and not a big fan of Sushi but my family is. They recommend the Calamari salad to start with some Miso soup and it was definitely tasty. Calamari cooked right and presentation was real nice and the soup was a broth of some sort with chunk of tofu very nice. They also brought us a Hawaiian Roll and a few other items Tony the owner recommend. His wife and staff where on point and made us feel welcome and very helpful with answers to all we asked. Every item that was brought look appetizing from plating to looks and tasted as good as it looked. I seen people mention a time factor I expected this since every item is hand prepared and nothing sitting or made prior like i have seen at other Sushi places(Maybe that’s why i didn’t like sushi from other places before) No conveyor belt here or sitting rolls. From the first to last plate everything was prepared fresh and tasty with detail to presentation which is definitely a plus. My family enjoyed there meal and mentioned to me we need to go back there again. One of my better dining experiences i had in a long time. Thank you again for the great food, service and quality food. We will be back guaranteed.

Understaffed on a busy Tuesday night, we arrived at around 6:45 and waited about ten minutes for a table. This would have been fine except not only did we only see our server twice during our meal(he appeared to be doing double duty working behind the sushi bar as well) the«hot» green tea was old and brown on arrival, we got our baked green mussels about 15 – 20 minutes after that and I was disappointed to find only two. Over a half an hour later we got a little more of our order. At first I enjoyed the spicyness of my samurai roll, but the more I ate the more the chili overwhelmed the actually quite good spicy tuna underneath. Not a fan and I love spicy food. The saving grace was the spider roll which I was very impressed with great flavor and size, with each delicious bite being perfect in size. But it had now been over an hour and having already missed our movie we were still waiting on our sunomono. So after we finally did get out of there, my boyfriend wakes up in the night violently ill. Not cool

Great food and prices! I ordered the lunch special #4 and it was a generous portion of food for $ 8.95. It came with two pieces of shrimp tempura, three vegetable tempura, teriyaki chicken, bowl of rice, California roll, miso soup, cucumber salad and green salad. I wouldn’t order the Beef Gyoza appetizer because it was soggy. I like my Gyoza crispy. The service was slow. It was lunchtime and the restaurant was full. I would definitely recommend this place.

Good food, Great service. We are from California(i live by the ocean while my parents are from the inner area) and I have tons of sushi and sashimi. I had the bent dinner special and their portions are pretty Big compared to the ones I have tried inf California. Their salad is reallu good. Great dressing. Seems like crab so it’s good. And also the sushi seemed good also. Pretty amazed how it is since Its not close to any costal area.

I’m not big on Japanese food, but I’m big on this one. The food is always very fresh and made to order. I actually even like their sushi– now that is saying something! By the way, they are now on Iron Springs road across from Walmart.

My mother, step-father, brother and I went here to celebrate on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was fairly calm, but we were shocked to see that the hostess was also the only wait staff. Nevertheless, we were promptly seated and taken care of. We ordered fairly quickly, but it still took us a while to get our food. My guess is they were short-staffed that night. I have to be completely honest, we really only come here for the sushi and sake. I haven’t tried much else on the menu. As far as I’m concerned, they’re the best sushi in town ever since Monsoon on the Square shut down. They are always quick, friendly and clean here. I’ve never left feeling truly unsatisfied with my food or service. But please bear in mind that they are a mom and pop restaurant so they tend to do things at their own pace.

I am so displeased right now. I had a hard day and wanted to treat myself. I usually go to Esoji, but they are still waiting on the liquor license at the new place, so figured I’d go to Fujiyama. I’d been there twice before and it was decent. I ordered the Hawaiian roll, because it is one of the few with salmon and my favorite is salmon. It was supposed to have salmon on top. I got it and drove it. I ate three(of 10) pieces and realized — where’s the salmon?!? - I wish I’d taken a photo. There were two teeny pieces of salmon on two of the remaining 7 pieces. Each about the size of a thumbnail. I told one of the waitresses about it(not our waitress) and she halfway asked if maybe could replace the roll? I said that if she could just give me one salmon sashimi that’d be fine. Our waitress came over and ARGUED with me! She told me how the roll is made and how there is salmon on every other piece. I pointed out to her the lack of salmon on every other piece as well as showed her the teeny two pieces of salmon. She kept arguing with me. She pointed out that I’d eaten three pieces(implying that the vast quantities of salmon would have been on those three pieces) I finally said to forget it. That was HORRIBLE customer service. I’ve worked in restaurants and customer service. All she had to say was«I’m sorry about that, let me fix it» I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable. I wasn’t asking for a new roll. Just a little more salmon. I will never go back there. Not that they seem to care.

This place is a hidden gem in Prescott. Fish was fresh and tasted good. The service was also good. This was our first visit, but not our last. We suggest salmon sushi and a spicy tuna hand roll.

Absolutely the worst customer service of any restaurant we have ever visited. I will start at the beginning. About two weeks ago we found this restaurant on Unilocal. We live in Prescott and it is on our way back and forth to the Valley. We stopped in and had a nice time. We sat at the sushi bar and we asked that they exchange broccoli for chicken in the teriyaki chicken for our children. They agreed to do so but were strange about it. They had to ask a manager, which I thought was strange. I mean, if you serve broccoli and someone wants to replace a meat item with that what could possibly be the issue? We even offered to pay more for the broccoli. Anyway, they agreed to make the change and we had a nice meal. A week and a half later we visited again. The server was a bit weird and came back and said that they had gotten in trouble before for substituting the broccoli and had been told never to do it again. This has never been an issue in any restaurant we have ever visited before in our lives. They said that they were«low on broccoli» so we would have to order the number with all broccoli and split it. I didn’t have a menu anymore at this point and was assured that this would be exactly what we were trying to order. It showed up as a gigantic plate of tempura fried broccoli. You know, the broccoli they were running low on. My son(5 and vegetarian) was very sad. He asked several times where his dinner was. He doesn’t eat tempura. We sent it back as neither child would eat it. My son literally spooned white rice into his mouth with his hands as they sat there and refused to just stir fry some broccoli. What it comes down to is a manager who cares nil about customer service. We have a favorite sushi place that we have frequented for years when we are in phoenix. We have never had any issues there at all. Whomever is running this business cares more about being in charge than he does about his customers. This situation was plain mean. Had someone said anything to us before we had ordered our veggie sushi we would have just left and gone elsewhere. The people who work here are clearly scared of this«manager» and can not do their job, which is to take care of their patrons because of him. Owners, I hope you are reading this. We will never be back and I will be sharing this experience everywhere I can. Esoji isn’t too far away, people. They have a new location and a better attitude. We have had no customer service issues there. Goodbye, Fujiyama.

What a great place. Considering this is a small little town they have some great fresh sushi here. Not a huge selection but that’s to be expected in a town like this where you probably don’t have a huge sushi following. Great customer service, friendly, clean, and fresh!!! I love in Orange County and we have excellent sushi there. This place is very good even compared to where I’m from! Keep it up

I have been eating here for years. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. They work very hard to make your experience a good one. The food has always been consistently good. I like to sit at the sushi bar because you can chat with the owner and chefs. Must haves are. Quail egg shooters. Hawaiian roll. Samurai roll. And baked green mussels. All the food is good, and I have never had a bad item. When the restaurant is busy you may have a wait for your food, but I don’t like to feel rushed. I like to spend a couple hours relaxing and sipping sake between courses. I proposed to my wife here if that says anything about my love for Fujiyamas.

Went there for dinner a few days ago, service was great, salmon rolls and tuna rolls where subpar. Restaurant is dated and dirty. I’ve been to quite a few Japanese restaurants around the country and this one doesn’t have it. I would skip this one go to the other one in town.

Decent, average fish(compared to my rather extensive experience with sushi bars around the world); great for Prescott. The service is graceful and accommodating to my allergies. Sashimi pieces are large. Tuna rolls are small. Also there’s a spicy-ass roll with something that could be called«shrimp chorizo» which I would order again, knowing that it’s warm and saucy. I was satisfied until we got the bill: $ 106 for four people, including 2 rolls, 2 mini sashimi plates, 1 hot sake and 4 beers. There are places in Tucson and LA where that bill would total $ 60, especially during a happy hour. Not worth the price, overall, but I’d go back.

This review is for the sushi and service. Go for the samurai roll, it’s out of this world delicious! By far, this is the best sushi to be found in Prescott.
