Prescott YMCA

We went here again yesterday with my grandson and a couple of his buddies. The only activity they normally engage in is Basketball when they have open gym, although we would like to play Pickleball here. Their schedule for this engaging sport during the week is not convenient and would be nice if they had it on Fridays and weekends.
The swimming pool though is a real standout. It’s quite sprawling and features lap pools, diving pools, kiddie pools, play pools and a fun beach pool with a mushroom umbrella that sprays around it. The other feature which completes its overall appeal is the winding tube slide from up high which the kids really get a kick out of.
Who needs those costly waterparks when you have a nice indoor facility like this. All they need now is a wave pool like the ones in those outdoor waterparks. So, all in all a nice experience for adults and kids alike.

Wow! What a great place to go swimming. The water is warm. They have a slide and and fountain. Perfect for my grand baby to play in and the people were so nice.

If I were just rating the lap pool area, I would give this Y 5 stars. Unfortunately, the locker room is a disappointment! The lockers are rusty and very small. I really have to push and shove to get my bag inside and then have to put shoes, change of clothes, etc. in another locker. The shower heads are too low and make hair washing almost impossible. No shelf to put things on in the shower and when anyone flushes a toilet – yikes! scalding hot water… I give the locker room 1 star.

I stopped in to see what the Y has to offer. Was hoping for a facility tour. They were very busy and the girl at the counter pretty much shoved a bunch of papers at me and said I could read it for myself. No tour, no detailed info on programs or classes. Not welcoming at all.

This place is fantastic!!! Would give 5 stars if the childcare for the gym was open more often and offered a monthly pass. The free weight section is awesome and nice how everything is separated,

Wow, I’m totally excited to be the first one to review this place cause this YMCA is absolutely fantastic!
The facility is new, large, and well maintained. The staff is always friendly.
I am not exaggerating when I write that my son and I spend everyday here swimming for at least an hour a day. The pools are indoors~ there is a 8 lane lap pool, a diving pool, a beach entrance pool (with a mushroom shaped water sprayer) that is kept at bath temperture, and a 150 foot water slide which my son loves.
My son takes group swimming lessons there twice a week and he loves his swimming lessons. I love all the life guards and instructors because they are all responsible teenagers working summer jobs and takes their job seriously.
My son’s membership includes a weekly session at the gymnastic school (a separate building but still associated with the Y) and he loves his gymnastic classes.
I also have my son enrolled 3x’s a week at their YMCA preschool summer camp and he loves it there! The staff there are warm and caring. No teary goodbyes at drop off. My son just gives me a kiss goodbye and walks right in!
There is a fantastic basketball court, weight lifting room, tons of cardio equipment, great group workout schedule, zumba, pilates, outdoor track, community garden.
I’m so glad we decided to join the Y, we’r loving it there!
