Aaaaaaand then came move out time. I saved all email correspondence regarding move out dates and pro rated costs and sat back in disbelief when Jamie totally contradicted herself and deducted«unpaid rent“from the security deposit when she herself emailed the amount due for our last month. She also attempted to charge for utility costs incurred after the date she gave authorization to disconnect. All this is documented. EVERYTHING«cleaned» by perusse cleaners was dirty upon move in and noted on the property condition report, Jamie must not have referenced it before billing us $ 167.20(after finance charges), to clean a clean house. I spent days cleaning this house top to bottom, every ledge and fixture. I literally cleaned the floor as I backed out the door. Then we locked it up and dropped off the key. I got back 100% of my deposit at my last residence. 100%. $ 167.20? Get real, jerks. Really big suprise here erverybody wait for it… property management company who tries to rip you off. Document everything. Leave a crumb trail back to your deposit, and save every spare penny for a down payment on your own home so you wont have to do this ridiculous shake-down anymore. Oh also! We had to move 12 days before new tenants arrived, so we turned the thermostat down ten degrees and locked all doors and windows. We then dropped off the key(got confirmation of that, as well) and left the state. Somehow, more electricity was used in that 12 days than any other MONTH, in its ENTIRETY, in the history of our occupancy. I wonder if Jamie has any idea how that happens when they are the only people coming and going? There was clear communication at this time(only because of our covering of our heinies) and they knew we were trusting them to handle things responsibly. We were still fully liable unter the terms of our lease during that time, but all the work done therein was done without our knowledge or authorization. Totally bogus, blatantly unethical business practices. Two thumbs down.
