This was the first time I had ever gone to a craft distillery. The place was big but most of the space was taken up with machines, which makes sense for a distillery. We brought my 4 year old daughter with us the owners were great! They brought her out some snacks while we had our tastings. The 1888 Rye Whiskey is great, we drank a bottle the night before but the new batch we tried was even better. They brought out a couple of the special reserve bottles which was some of the best whiskey I’ve ever had. I would recommend anyone who likes whiskey, bourbon, or vodka to stop by. Support local companies and enjoy some of the best spirits around.

Another great find thanks to help! A generous tasting and Very cool place with friendly service. The spirits were very good quality. I would have bought a few bottles if I had a way to get them back on the plane. I bought a bottle of the rye whiskey It was so smooth and good quality.

To anyone with any interest in fine craft spirits I overwhelming recommend the five star boutique Thumb Butte Distillery. All over their spirits were top notch. This place was truly a hidden gem experience in the town of Prescott. Our bartender/taster Linda was awesome and so easy to talk to. She turned what would normally have been a 30 minute tasting into a two-hour afternoon of laughs, fine spirits and great company and conversation. Make sure you go when she’s there and tip her well! Lastly I also recommend the cheese plate prepared for us by the owner. The cheeses were all great quality, good portions, and completed all they had to offer. Whatever your liquor of choice may be, Thumb Butte has it, and I cannot recommend this place enough!

What a find! A piercing shrill of what seems like several million cicadas greeted us outside. Inside Jim & Dana greeted us like family. Jim gave us a really great tour. You can taste the passion of his work in the product, and oh my, the tasty wares these folks have. I felt so strongly about the experience that I went back to my Arizona Distilling Co. review and removed a star. Not meant to take away from them, but Thumb Butte clearly deserved to be at least a star above. Their currently un-named premium whiskey was hands down the most impressive, and I rarely drink whiskey. I lean more on the vodka side of life, and thoroughly enjoyed every pour they had. I’m not a flavored vodka guy either,(note to the world — these folks don’t flavor, they infuse, big diff, and I just punched myself in the head for even mentioning that word in the review). The Meyer Lemon & infused pepper vodka(Serrano & jalapeño) were the standouts. What really got my attention was the Western Sage gin. That was pitch perfect for my palate. Well done. We had a great time, besides producing quality spirits, these folks create a very warm relaxed atmosphere.

Great people, great distilled spirits. I have a feeling the bourbon will win some awards in 2015. Little bit hard to find, but completely worth the effort. Nice music, tastings are generous, and there is some cool art(for sale) displayed.

Fabulous Rodeo Rye Whiskey! We had it on the rocks. It has wonderful smokey and chocolate notes. The antipasto bar was excellent. Linda told me where to find the giant capers that were served. Enjoyed touring the equipment of an active distillery. Jazz music was perfect to cap off a nice soirée. Only wish that they had some of their bourbon and single malt to taste. Next time!

I love the down to earth atmosphere here. All business is down by locals and you can tell they give special attention to detail. We have tasted most of their vodkas and gins and now it’s on to the rum and scotch(still waiting on it to mature). Ask for Scottie when you go there — he will keep you laughing(and tasting).

Well I made it to the Grand Opening last month and I have to say it far exceeded my expectations. The fine spirits(Vodka, Hot Potato Vodka, Gurley Street Gin, Western Sage Gin(my personal fav), Bloody Basin Bourbon and Escalante Rum) were all super delish and I really liked that you got to taste each one for free that day. I think for a nominal fee of $ 5 you can purchase a TBD shot glass and have the exact same«flight». You can also order mixed drinks from their specialty menu which are reasonably priced at $ 5. The place is not small but it’s also not huge and vacuous, it’s intimate in the right kind of way. The tasting room seats people at a bar and then there are tables as well. I understand that they will be expanding to an outside patio area soon too. This is definitely a «go to» place to take visiting out of towners and also a great place to go relax on a Saturday afternoon or if you get off of work early enough, to meet friends for a relaxing cocktail or a shot or two before you head home. I could also see having a milestone birthday party there or an anniversary party or a small wedding reception. The owners are the servers and will give you a tour if you ask and are very nice and funny too. The only disappointment was in myself for having gotten just the Vodka(and only one bottle? What was I thinking?) Next trip I’m going to purchase EVERYTHING! Doubles in fact! Go, enjoy. Youll love it!
