Horrible sauce, tastes like sugar and the red food coloring that is obviously added to it. The service has always been fine and the kids like the chicken fingers, as well as the wife, but sadly I’d this is not the place for ribs. Best meal I had was a burger. Best BBQ I’ve had so far in SMD is Giggy’s but that is from a truck so I have to track them down.

We love this spot! We have had their steak which was surprisingly amazing, tender and more importantly, cooked correctly. The main thing we get is the chicken platter. You must ask for their Carolina sauce which is slammin! The baked beans are very good along with the crab points. The only thing we weren’t a fan of was their crab dip. All in all, one of our go to places to eat in Calvert.

I have driven by this place hundreds of times over the past few years. I usually stick to the seafood joints as I vacation here in Prince Frederick MD during the offseason. So I was all seafood-ed out and said what the heck(oh, I don’t care for ribs so I didn’t order them). Every night they have a special posted on the sign, tonight was Country Fried Steak night(not exactly New Jersey Guy fare). The place is a really old log cabin much in the tradition of the area I lodge in while here(not a gimmick either, this is the real deal hand built place). So with that said the layout is really strange, it is like someone took one of those lame/standard steak house places(outblech etc) and made a maze of it. I like to sit at the bar because being a single guy sitting at a table is depressing and has no TVs(or Kino… betting at dinner? yes, apparently). Given the horrendous weather the place still was half full(mostly large party type tables and families with kids). I ponied up to the bar(maybe can seat 10 and set up to order). I started with the Cream of crab(just a cup), may seem expensive but it was worth it, Typical(but good) cream soup with lump crab piled on top with some old bay sprinkled on. After I ordered it one of the other patrons ordered one to take home because she remembered how good it was, Just thinking about it now makes me drool, good stuff. For my main I ordered the«Mixed Grill» which is an assortment of various proteins which could really illustrate how good(or bad) their cooks are. The mix: 1 strip steak(about ½ a normal one) 1 chicken breast 4 «garlic» shrimp baked tate, veggie(zuch) The strip was cooked perfectly to order(rare) and had perfect grill marks, it was ok seasoned but the meat was good so that was not that big a deal. The chicken was great, perfectly grilled. The shrimp were competent, not much«garlic» flavor imo but good grilled shrimp. The tater was the size of a scary tumor in too small a bowl to maneuver well. The Veg(zucchini) was nice and crunchy(thank god for no sog). Only 3 stars? Yes, This is very standard(but good and competent) fare. I would go here if I was local instead of some chain but nothing blew me away except the soup.

One of our favorite restaurants in Calvert County! Service is always great and food always fresh and delicious!

Was craving BBQ and decided to try this place. Service was awful! Staff was so rude and clueless it was a shame. The selections are limited(no sausage, brisket, etc.) and the drinks are flat and small. The chicken was disgusting. So pale and pink from the sauce; not appetizing at all! The steak and chicken portions were decent and the wings cooked well, but with such unappetizing and disgusting flavors sort of defeats the purpose. I would not recommend nor will return.

We had a party of 5 Wednesday night and the only thing good there was the service. We had ribs that were over cooked. Chicken that was hard. Onion loaf and cheese sticks that had NO taste at all and then they wanted to charge for rolls. This was our LASTTIME there.

Used to be ok, but now it’s not. We used to go every now and then, but no more. Last visit my prime rib was seared rather than sliced off a prime rib roast. I could have handled that except it was over seasoned(salty) and very tough. They give you these huge portions, but who cares if the food isn’t good. Server seemed nice enough, but looked like he just got home from a bike rally at Sturgis. Also the place needs a good steam cleaning. This might be a job for Gordon Ramsey!

Nice spot to grab some decent food. It wont knock your socks off but it is good food for the money. Average bill for 2 people is about $ 35…not too bad. I usually get the buffalo chicken sandwich really good. Nice hole in the wall. I go about 2 – 3 a month.

I left full but it wasn’t anything I’d go back for. Cream of crab soup was okay, I’ve had better. I got the catch of the day(rock fish) sandwich broiled. It was fine, nothing to write home about… my baked potato was barely baked. My fiancé got a burger he downed in like 2 bites because he was starving. Seemed kind of expensive for 2 sandwich platters, a cup of soup and 1 tea. Was over $ 36. Our waitress was super nice, almost too nice… She liked the word«excellent» and used it to the point where we were mildly annoyed. Over all if was a forgettable experience.

BAD. My MD crab soup had beef in it. My BBQ chicken was rare and gummy. Service was non existent. Avoid at all costs.

We ordered the cream of crab soup which was spot on! This is my favorite thing about visiting Maryland! Also ordered the crab dip which I did not care for. The ribs were excellent. I liked their sauce because it was a little different.

I had higher hopes for the ribs at a place called«Adam’s — the Place for Ribs.» My full rack certainly looked excellent as it arrived but the ribs were only okay. They were plenty moist but there wasn’t too much meat and it wasn’t the usual«fall off the bone» that I’ve come to expect living in Charlotte. The sauce on the ribs(same as on the table) was a bit bland as well. I went with fries and cole slaw(there’s an upcharge if you substitute anything else). The fries were a bit soft but the cole slaw was okay. Prince Frederick is perhaps a bit of a desert of restaurants, so considering the competition in the area this is very good. But for ribs overall, they were A-OK.

Meh. Lunch service slow and unenthusiastic. I ordered the pulled pork with house sauce and it can best be described as bland and mushy. My husband ordered the BBQ shrimp and he thought it was very average. The shrimp were cooked well but smaller than expected and the sauce didn’t blow anyone away. Sides looked and tasted like they came out of a can. Limp fries. I really wanted to like this place but i won’t be returning.

Ribs are good. Wings are better. I took my three year old daughter in on an early Sunday afternoon for lunch and we had fun. Staff was friendly, food came out fairly quick… The restaurant is not as nice as the one in Fruitland, Md. but this one is more of a dive rib shack. take it for what it is. temper your expectations about the atmosphere and just enjoy the experience … the ribs are worth it.

I’m a vegetarian so I’m not the best to review a ribs place, but for the other vegetarians out there, I feel the need to let you know if you’ll be able to get a decent meal here. Short answer: no. There are appetizers and small salads, but no main dishes. That’s not unusual but it’s still disappointing. Their french fries were good though! They usually have a couple of unusual(non-Budweiser) beers available in bottles, but the selection changes so you don’t know until you get there. The restaurant feels dingy and sometimes smells kind of mildewy. Service is good, but just not the best experience overall.

I previously had a great experience here a few years ago but it seems from my last visit that things have definitely gone downhill since then, as many of the other reviewers have attested to. That being said however, my most recent meal here wasn’t terrible, but also not as good as I remembered. Our server was pleasant, but not super attentive(they WERE short on staff and he was working several positions, so I was understanding). We started with the cream of crab soup which was a mistake– it was sour. Not in a blatantly spoiled seafood kind of way, but it definitely did not taste fresh or have the sweetness that crab soup should.(I was worried throughout the rest of the day about coming down with food poisoning but nothing happened, thank God!) For our meals, we both got the pulled pork sandwich platter, which was awesome– huge portions and very tasty, with crispy fries and fresh coleslaw, and for two people, our check was under $ 30. Even though some things here can definitely be improved, I’m still a fan of Adam’s and hope to come back again soon.

We’ve been there twice recently and both times the food and service was very good. I’ve had the tuna steak sandwich twice, ordered medium. it was perfect, the slaw was delicious and the fries just right. The 2nd time the tuna was in three smaller pieces and a bit more done than I would have liked but still good. We had cheesecake for dessert, It was a large piece that 3 of us shared and tasty.

This place used to be OK, but now it’s just plain bad. Went there for dinner with three other people. My scallops were unidentifiable, inedible and burned black. Had to send them back. Ordered a simple chicken sandwich to replace the dinner, but it was so overcooked I literally could not chew it. Had to send that back, too. Have NEVER had to do that in my life! I left without eating anything. Two of my companions ordered the fish special, which was OK, but when the bill came they were charged $ 27.00 each. Seriously? For mealy fish with«crabmeat» stuffing? List the prices on the specials, will you? There are so many good places to eat in the Prince Frederick area now. Why suffer through this mediocrity? We will never go back. My husband got one of the worst cases of food poisoning of his life at Adam’s several years ago. It took ages to get him to agree to go back. Never again. As the saying goes, «All done with that». ‘Nuff said.

The service was nice but that was it. The food was horrible all around. The BBQ chicken was boiled into submission and was chokingly dry. The server specifically recommended the tuna steak medium so it wouldn’t be to dry, but what a failure that was. Both the chicken and tuna were unacceptably dry and uneatable. The only reason this didn’t get one star was the service.

The best ribs anywhere. I’ve been going here for years and now live in California. Whenever I step off the plane coming home I make a mad dash for Adams. The ribs are amazing as is the onion loaf. On the most recent trip I discovered the great pulled pork and the amazing North Carolina BBQ sauce. I’m a sauce guy and I love Adam’s original sauce and the new NCBBQ sauce so much I went through the hassle of jarring and packing ¾ of a gallon of it in my luggage on this last trip. Just great food, great place! Don’t pass this place up!!!
