Calvert Crabs

Reserved and paid in advance for 2 dozen large males for Father’s Day. Wanted to support a local business, and a Veterans business, as my boyfriend is retired after 23 years in the Army. I was pleased with their customer service, they explained that large would be 5 ¼ minimum. Fine, I thought. Just wanted to make his day stress-​free. Should have asked number #1 or #2. Picked them up on time, still very happy. Did not look in the bag. Once we got home, my boyfriend asked what I had ordered, when I told him «large» he said he wished he had looked at the crabs when we picked them up. Not large, most were barely legal. They were cooked perfect and full, but I wish the supplier had told me they were on the small size. I understand you cannot guarantee what will be caught, but I would have appreciated the honesty, perhaps a small credit would have bought some loyalty. Now, unfortunately, there is a local business I will not recommend in the future. I see that previous business page was closed, and a new one updated. Without my review transferring. Sneaky!
