When I see a cook out back smoking that is a turn off. Also the prices are outrageous for Sysco food with a fancy name.

Right now the kitchen staff at The Wild Hare is preparing something wonderful. I stopped by on my way to northern Maryland and liked the scallops I had so much that I made sure to drop by on my way back. I’ve eaten a lot of blueberry pancakes in my day, but I can honestly say The Wild Hare’s blueberry pancake breakfast is by far the best I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and take a trip to Princess Anne, Maryland. I’m sure there are fun things to do and see there, but if nothing else go get a meal at The Wild Hare. They grow a lot of their own veggies, they prepare their own soups and sauces, they grind their own herbs and spices and all meats are from local farms.

Thank goodness, my husband and I finally found a reason to go out to dinner in Somerset County. If you’re looking for an out of the way, small town dining experience with gourmet food worthy of the best restaurants in Annapolis or D.C., this is the place. The entirely homemade, fresh, local gourmet food was amazing. The staff and chef/owners were super friendly. We arrived right around closing, and they still served us a full multi course dinner. I had the pulled pork platter, which came with soup and salad to start. The homemade roasted tomato soup was like no soup I have ever tasted… wow! The pulled pork with vinegar based sauce and slaw was like a flavor explosion, especially when piled on a buttery homemade kaiser roll from their bakery. And the cheesy au gratin potatoes were just heavenly. I even had enough left over for lunch the next day — the portions are quite generous. They were out of Bananas Foster, so the chef offered to make us a special not-on-the-menu dessert with fresh apples & strawberries with crepes, which was a perfect refreshing summer dessert and topped off the best meal I’ve had on the Eastern Shore in a long time. And for the quality of the ingredients and skill of the chef, the prices are quite reasonable. Thanks for a lovely night, guys! Keep up the good work. We cannot wait to come back and try the house smoked bacon!

My wife and I arrived to an empty restaurant and were looking forward to a quick breakfast while we were traveling from NC to PA. All the employees were very nice and accommodating. My wife went to wash up prior to our food arriving, and discovered a man sleeping in the back room, a lady using the rest room with the door open, and a toddler running around the back room. We cancelled our food order and left with our drinks, the coffee was good, but don’t get the limeade unless you like drinking simple syrup.

Finally! Some upscale dining with the small town charm of Princess Anne! Four of us had lunch here today, and I was thoroughly impressed. The menu is diverse, unique, and extremely tasty. While this is a new location, so some operational kinks need to be worked out(the server had to ask the kitchen for a few details), it did not detract from our overall dining experience. I would highly recommend The Wilde Hare and can’t wait to go back to try their brunch and dinner menus.

Wish we lived closer. At a nearby roadside market, we took the suggestion to try their Cranberry-Walnut Sourdough bread for French Toast. Wow! Delicious and testament to the rich quality of their bread. If we get back, we’ll be looking for the restaurant and wish them all the best in growing their business.
