MayBelle Stables

I have been boarding my horse here for over a year. As a senior, high-​maintenance thoroughbred, finding a place to meet his needs can be challenging, but Maybelle has been a wonderful fit for him. In the 12 years I’ve owned my horse, I’ve never seen him so happy and relaxed. All of the horses receive excellent care and attention and Ginny and Nat are happy to help out with any additional care he might need beyond the standard care provided daily (e.g., blanket changes, medicine administration). They also do a great job matching horses up with pasture mates so everyone is happy and relaxed. The barn is very quiet and low-​key; no drama, competition, or chaos. My horse lots of turnout, which keeps him sane and gets plenty of grass, as the paddocks are rotated regularly. There are very large fields which are excellent for riding out as well as a nice sand ring. The barn is kept clean and neat and manure is properly disposed of (important for fly control!). Overall, wonderful people and happy horses :-)

Very clean facility for boarding your horse with warm & friendly management. Great trail riding opportunities as the stables are across the street from the Mercer Meadow Park on Cold Soil Road, offering access to hundreds of acres for riding. Riding lessons are offered though I can’t speak to them as I have not taken any at this stable.

My daughter, like many young girls, loves horses. She took a few months of riding lessons elsewhere but the instructor was a bad fit and she became discouraged. We checked out Maybelle when she was ready to try again and it has been terrific! Her goals are to ride for fun, not for competition, and she is certainly having fun! She is gaining confidence and really learning to ride. If the weather is poor, she gets a lesson in horsemanship or care and grooming, and she never minds that she’s not on the horse because she loves hanging out with, and learning from, Natalie.
It has really been a fantastic activity and we’re looking forward to her being able to trail ride, and to camp this summer.

Maybelle Stables is a great place to learn to ride! Having very little experience with riding at all, I felt very much at ease with Natalie showing me the grooming process prior to saddling up the horse, right on to riding in the rink. Once in the rink, I felt very comfortable. The horse listened to all commands and the instructor was there to guide through the whole lesson.
I am definitely going back, its a great outdoor hobby and stress reliever!
