I’m on a vacation from Washington State, so I went looking on line to see where to eat, can’t believe anyone would give this place one star let alone 4, it was the worst BBQ I’ve had the displeasure of eating. It made all three of us feel sick the rest of the day, I give it two thumbs down, don’t waste your money.

Average Que. I should of known better since I didn’t see any smoke. Not a fan of electric cookers and artificial smoke favor. One positive was that they had a decent selection of sauces. Sides were OK, and service was less than attentive(more interested in texting on her phone). I wanted the place to be better, because the name deserved it. I went for lunch but who knows dinner might be better.

Stopped by for an early dinner. Ordered the low carb platter & ½ rack ribs with 2 sides. The low carb platter had 2 styles of pulled pork & pulled chicken, no sides. Both pulled porks were good. The NC style pulled pork had a little kick to it with a vinegar taste. The pulled chicken was kind a dry. The some of the ribs were tender but some needed more time on the smoker. The slaw has pickles in it. The Memphis chips were very good.

I love love love the potato skins with pulled pork & you can get NC style which is spicy but still yummy! Their BBQ sauce is better than sweet baby ray’s

Great BBQ. Friendly service. Amazing ribs. If you are near. Stop here for sure. Like many we looked on Unilocal as we were traveling from NC to KY. And along the way we wanted authentic BBQ. Afterwards we were so happy we did. Order the ribs, hush puppies and the baked beans. Put on some hot sauce at the table and you will be in heaven.

Well, we shocked the customers walking into this place. All eyes on us. We turned heads walking into A Taste of Memphis, perhaps it was because we were the only brown people? Our family was on travel and had never traveled through West Virginia together. We were all hungry and I suggested that we have BBQ and found this place on Unilocal. We walk up to the cashier, my husband asks the man behind the counter about their food items on the menu. I notice that the cashier was not very friendly, until I paid and tipped him. We decided on the Family Pack — Feeds Four, includes 1 lb. pork; 2 pints of sides, i.e., baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, mash potatoes, cinnamon apples; and four buns. I was not impress with the food. Definitely has nothing to do with the shady atmosphere, but we have had better BBQ. Next time, we are driving through Princeton… no need to stop or drive around this state.

An earlier reviewer’s comment that this place was«a bit» overpriced was an understatement. Dinner for our family(half slabs of ribs, small cole slaw, beans and water to drink) was over $ 70! To make matters worse, as a different reviewer noted, these folks cook their country-style ribs far too quickly leaving them tough and chewy. A definite disappointment.

Great ribs. Not sure what happened to the previous reviewer but my ribs were meaty, had great flavor and while not slathered with sauce they weren’t what I’d call dry rub. The ribs weren’t chewy, these folks get«low and slow»! Well worth the few minutes from the freeway!

This place is a gem of a restaurant in small city. I know of people who travel 70 miles, or more, to eat here. It’s definitely worth the trip. They have amazing BBQ sandwiches, hush puppies, and the sweetest sweet tea. THIS is how southern BBQ food should taste.

Great southern style bbq place. No frills, just plates of goodness! Grab a Yuengling with your ribs and you’re set. One note on the ribs is they come St Louis style. dry rub and a little chewy, but the home made sauce on the tables is totally worth throwing on too.
