We’ve visited The Broadway House Bistro several times and always come away wanting more. The roasted corn and goat cheese appetizer is to die for, both it and the pita chips it comes with are addictive. The Spinach and Artichoke Stuffed Tomato dip(also served with pita chips) is another great option for starters. For the main course, I highly recommend the Seared Duck Breast. The duck is always succulent, and paired nicely on a mushroom and spinach orzo pasta. I would also highly recommend the Stuffed Fried Chicken(moist chicken filled with cheddar cheese and bacon) served on a bed of orzo pasta with a sun dried tomato sauce. While these are my recommendations, you can’t go wrong. For dinner, the Pasta Primavera, Bistro Burger, or Cajun Shrimp and Grits are all delicious choices. Be sure to visit the Bistro for lunch as well, and try one of the Daily Quiches, the Turkey & Ham Club, Italian Sub, or of course, the Bistro Tenderloin. The Bistro offers a great selection of wines or micro-brews to pair with their food. The charming décor and cozy atmosphere make this the perfect place to take a date, or host a classy family dinner. Whatever you order, you won’t be disappointed.

My dad and I were in the area visiting my grandparents in Mt. Carmel. Unfortunately, the meal options in that town and the surrounding areas are meek — your standard fast food joints line both sides of the interstate around here. So I went to Unilocal in the hopes of finding something different and I ended up finding a gem in Princeton. After having lunch here once, we knew we had to return again within the span of our 4-night, 5-day stay. I was hoping that we could catch the dinner service, but it didn’t fit into our schedule. I’m really disappointed about that, but we were able to get lunch here twice and left satisfied each time. Both times, the owner Jeff greeted us at the hostess booth right inside the door and took us to our tables. I actually wasn’t aware that he was the owner until I checked out their website. We choose to sit on the enclosed patio space versus the dining room both times for two reasons: 1) the sun was out and it was beautifully lit and 2) the dining room was too dark for lunch service. We had different waitresses each time and they both promptly took our drink orders and informed us about the specials for the day. Lunch #1 — entrée sized Broadway House salad, to share; I was pleasantly surprised that the«mixed greens» were actually spring mix. The dried cranberries appeared to be store bought — think Ocean Spray. The balsamic vinaigrette came on the side and was good; not too tart but a tad heavy on the oil. Their website doesn’t indicate so, but I believe the menu in the restaurant read that the BV was a house made dressing. I could be wrong, so don’t quote me on that. — turkey & ham club, subbed the included parmesan fries for a mini caesar salad; the sandwich included iceberg lettuce and what looked like prepackaged store bought deli meats, so that was a bit of a bummer. But the bacon was thick and crispy, just the way I like it. There was an extra slice of bread between the sandwich, separating the bacon and veggies from the turkey and ham. Such basic staples made a pretty tasty sandwich. The bread was toasted and even had nice grill marks. The mini caesar(iceberg) came already dressed and there was way too much dressing. There was so much dressing that some of the lettuce lost its crunch and went floppy, so ask for dressing on the side. — bistro tenderloin(grilled) with parmesan fries — this was a star. The tenderloin was tender, relatively thick, perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and HUGE. The bun it was on was maybe half the size of the tenderloin itself. My dad will pretty much eat anything, but for him to call something that wasn’t cooked by my mom ‘delicious’ is rare. The parmesan fries are also delicious. Thick cut and fried golden brown so there is a slight crunch on the outside, while still soft and fluffy on the inside. They are sprinkled with parmesan and finely chopped parsley. Lunch #2 — entrée sized Broadway House salad, to share(yes, again). — portabella sandwich with parmesan fries — the mushroom was smaller than I would’ve liked, but cooked well. The roasted red pepper and mozzarella were standard. I can handle foods that are tart, but I think that the balsamic onions were a bit too tart. I wish the brioche bun was either more dense or toasted for a bit longer because the juices from the sandwich components slowly made the bun soggy overtime. Fries were delicious like last time. You can see in the pictures of lunch #1 vs lunch #2 that we definitely got more fries the second time. — bistro tenderloin(breaded) with parmesan fries — we actually ordered grilled again but I guess our waitress punched in the wrong thing. I ended up liking the breaded version better because I thought it had more flavor. My dad said both grilled and breaded are delicious, both with their own appeals. Both times we were offered dessert after our meal, but we declined the first time because we were too full. However, going into the second visit, I was definitely going to try more of the menu. We ordered a crème brûlée — the menu said ask your waitress for flavors but they only had one at the moment. While I enjoyed the dessert, it’s nothing to write home about. The crispy, melted sugar on top was thinner than I’ve had at other restaurants. BHB is clean and nicely decorated. My dad and I came in wearing athletic clothing both times while other patrons where either in business dress or fancy casual. A lot of the people dining in were seniors. However, we weren’t treated like we were out of place. Because I live in Houston, such standards are normal here. But compared to other meal options in the area, Broadway House Bistro is clearly at the top of the pack. If we return to the area to visit my grandparents again in the following years, I am definitely coming back! Also, be sure to sign their guestbook after you leave — it is located at the hostess booth.

Very good restaurant! Almost too good for Princeton. Excellent menu, great beer and wine selection. The staff is attentive and friendly. This was my third visit, this trip I got the stuffed fried chicken. Just a hint of heat from the jalapeño cream cheese in the stuffing. Very tasty. This is a simple thing but the ice tea is delicious. On a previous trip I had the bread pudding. Also Delicious. Well deserved 5 stars!

I visited this place on a Friday night at 8:00. Made reservations for two just to make sure I had a spot reserved which was not needed. Work brought me to the area and was tired of the same old restaraunts. We were going to eat at Ponderosa or another place like that and I stumbled upon this little gem in Google. I read the reviews and like always there are always a few bad ones but figured it was worth at least 1 try. The service did take a long time which I expected from the reviews. I had 2 bud lights, a 12 oz ribeye, mashed potatoes and green beans, and my partner had a steak with two small potatoes and a glas of water. The steak was BYFAR one of the best I had ever ate. The total bill was less than I expected at $ 48. Overall good experience and great food. Would I change anything? I wish they had some light music that would kill the silence in the room and make it a little more romantic or unawkward. The details in this place were great.

Found this little place on Unilocal. So glad we did! Passing through the area and wanting something that was not a chain. Very different from the standby Midwest food. We went at night and the place was adorable. Very inviting. The owner met us at the door and seated us right away. Our waitress was very friendly. I could not decide between the pasta primavera or the shrimp and grits. She suggested the shrimp and am I very glad that she did! It was delicious! For an appetizer we ordered the corn and goat cheese dip. Yummy! I also got a Caesar salad. The best I have ever had. My husband ordered the ribeye with cream cheese mashed potatoes and green beans. I tried his potatoes and the green beans. Both were very good. No room for dessert. Lol! Don’t let the fancy look of the place deter you. It is a casual place with a upscale feel. Will definitely be back when pass through again!

This place is a little gem, everything is perfect. The décor and atmosphere when you walk in to the amazing service and of course the delicious food. My husband and I have been here 3 times since they have opened and I am a big fan of the crab cakes for an appetizer. Although my daughter loves the fried green tomatoes. I had the chicken pot pie and it is a perfect portion and the crust is perfect and flaky. You won’t be disappointed. My husband loves the shrimp and grits, he says it’s one of the best recipes he has ever tasted. For dessert: the chocolate pot de crème is to die for! I spoke with the owner and she said she hasn’t perfected it(it’s a French recipe), but I have never had a French chef make it for me and I think theirs taste like Heaven!

Food, service and atmosphere are excellent! Tried the Bistro burger for lunch. It was seasoned and cooked perfect. At dinner I started with fried green tomatoes. They wear cooked to perfection. Filling that I has their stuffed fried chicken and a side of asparagus. The chicken was stuffed with sun dried tomatoes and was excellent! The asparagus was grilled and seasoned perfect. The menu selection for lunch and dinner gives a good choice for all appetites. So happy Princeton has an excellent upscale type restaurant!

What’s going on in Princeton and the surrounding area? Yet another culinary top notched restaurant opens for business. My girlfriend friend had the pork Chop while I had Shrimp and Grits. Recommended!
