Growing up in Princeton, NJ, as I did in the Burrough, not the Township, Marquand Park rocks. It has a small decently sized parking lot right off of Lover’s Lane. The playground is classic for kids, complete with the swing stet I love for years, not to mention a nice sandbox. But let your kids and yourself venture further afar on this 17 acre preserve. You will find so many wonderful climbing trees and lovely strolling walkways. My senior year at PDS, PHS and PDSrs would come over here to enjoy some last memories of tossing the freebie in the broader wide open areas before the age of Facebook and Smartphones took over. Remember to pat the ground before you leave. It might be eons before you next return after you graduate. No app can replace the experience.

This place is cute and very much worth visiting. I wouldn’t call it a sprawling park or anything, but it’s large enough and has benches and other areas to sit and chill. There are some huge trees where you could easily sit and eat lunch. For kids, the playground is very nice. There’s a sandlot with a ton of random toys just hanging around. And swings and slides – all the good stuff – in nice shape.
