A group of us guys get together every now and then without wives and/or girlfriends. This time, I suggested Masa for an ultra-manly, testosterone filled, sushi-man-date. Not only is it an amazing deal but all of the fish tasted so fresh. There isn’t much service, per se, once you order the all you can eat but everyone was friendly. You really can’t beat fresh, all you can eat, tasty sushi for $ 25 a person. Did I mention it’s BYOB? I’ll definitely be back… Maybe I’ll even bring my wife!

Special rolls are mostly made with tempura or with spicy fish. That just does not cut it for me because that means«no fresh fish». Will not return.

Hands down the best all you can eat sushi restaurant I’ve been to. Great quality for a value price. Friendly staff and fast service. My parents had a sushi bar in their restaurant and they were impressed with the quality/value when I brought them to Masa. I try to make it there every week!

Just discovered their french fries, I know it’s french fries, but Masa is so good at making any fried food taste amazing! You should definitely check out their calamari appetizer as well as their shrimp tempura appetizer, and let’s not forget their spicy seaweed salad! They also have new red bean ice cream now, which is absolutely delish. There’s only 2 things that I have gripes about. #1 The salmon nigiri is still not the same fatty salmon nigiri they used to serve the first couple years when they first opened. #2 A friend of mine who is very well known in the restaurant biz introduced me to Masa(for which I am forever grateful), and he has brought so much business to this place, but apparently the ownership has never once shown appreciation for the enormous amount of business he brings in for Masa. They should learn to take better care of their regular clientele, especially the clientele that has done a lot for the business.

Distracted service. Mediocre food, not attractively plated. Maybe you should wait until they Take down the«help wanted» sign and give them another chance. My hungry 16 year old daughter found the all you can eat portions disappointingly small. Next time we’ll go back to superstar east next door.

It’s hard to get a reservation on the weekends but if you do end up going it’s so worth it. Their all you can eat is out of this world!!! Enjoyed every bite!

Their sushi is definitely fresh and if you get the all-you-can-eat sushi dinner it is worth the price. All other dishes on the a la carte menu are expensive and come in huge portions except the sushi. All-you-can-eat is definitely worth the price of $ 25 if you don’t eat lunch and get sashimi instead of filling up on sushi rice. My favorite dish was the ceviche. It wasn’t real ceviche but it was sushi with lemon juice. Still good.

Another AYCE sushi joint! I like this place because their fish does seem to be a tad more fresh than sushi palace, but their sides are lacking. The appetizers @ sushi palace are WAY better than what this place has to offer. The ambience and place is super nice. It’s kinda upscale/romantic with the dim lighting, but it’s AYCE, who cares! We’re all here to get FAT! The pricing is around the same as sushi palace but I think a couple more dollars expensive. The service and food is kind of slow when it gets busy, but they try to be quick as possible.

On a Thursday, the place was pretty crowded. There is an all you can eat sushi deal going on and the rolls are pretty inexpensive. I went with a group of about 8 people and we all ordered several tolls to share. Although it took a little while to come out, it was worth the wait. The rolls were pretty good and hard to stop eating. A lot of us didn’t want to leave anything on the plate. They are also byob so feel free to bring your bottle of wine to go with your meal.

Very rarely do I give five stars, but YEP. This is my version of the perfect Latoya dining experience – all-you-can-eat style. 1) Great clean ambiance 2) Fast and VERY attentive service(at one point, we had like two people waiting on us) 3) The food was DELICIOUS and fresh 4) Did I say the food was DELICIOUS?(I’ve eaten at many a fair share of Japanese spots and I have to say that some of the items that I tasted here were some of the best– EGGPLANTSANDWICH – just trust me, please. 5) BYOB-I love a place where I can indulge in libations without feeling the pinch of an ever increasing bill. 6) Dessert – there is always room for this and even though my belly was about to explode, I wanted more and more of the red bean ice cream. Masa, I have fallen in love and I shall return.

3.5 stars I had low expectations for this restaurant. Chose to come here because was craving sushi and they had a good choice of non sushi menu items, including ramen for the misses. The sushi is pretty good here! Rice is near perfect in texture and flavor and sushi is fresh. They have a made to order all you can eat menu for lunch and dinner. Lunch is $ 18.95 and dinner is $ 24.95. As far as I can tell its the same menu for both, so lunch is a great value as there are specialty rolls, apps, and some cooked menu items included. There’s a good variety to choose from look at the menu I took a pic of under the restaurant tips. They don’t make the rolls with excessive amount of rice either, so they don’t try to sucker you with the all you can eat then load you up with rice. That’s good because they will charge you extra for left over rice ‘balls” and food. The bad thing is the service. It’s non existent or ambivalent wait staff. We went early lunch time around 11:30 am and there were many people eating already. By the time we were ready to order, it was 11:45 and groups of people started filing in. Our waitress walked by us a bunch of times to tend to the new patrons instead of getting our order in! We didn’t order to about noon. Seriously she could have took a minute to take our order! I think they are under staffed The manager actually came to take our order! Our tea was not refilled until I had to flag someone down. Of course, that wait staff only filled my wife’s tea! Smh. I know my cup was only half full but you can still fill it as it has cooled down. The nice thing is the food does come out quick. Definitely would come back again to get yummy sushi at a great value, especially for the locale. I’ve been to crappier towns with a more expensive price point. The décor was nice, so the service threw me off as I was expecting a lot more. Just don’t expect much in the way of service and you’ll have a good experience.

Solid sushi buffet, and a steal for lunch at $ 18.95 per person. So let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way first — how does it compare to Sushi Palace? It depends on what you’re looking for. WHEREMASAWINS: Ambiance /Service — Masa Sushi definitely wins in ambiance and(generally) service. While Sushi Palace feels like a sushi AYCE place, Masa feels like a nice restaurant that happens to also offer AYCE. Lunch — Sure there are a few offerings missing at lunch(i.e. soft shell crab, the masa ceviche, eggplant sandwich, fruit), but all in all, it’s a steal for lunch. Yellowtail — The yellowtail here was definitely my favorite. SOFRESH. Definitely waay better than sushi palace. Special Rolls — I liked that the rolls were stuffed with fish/avocado rather than rice. My only gripe is that they seemed a bit too stuffed with avocado(over the fish). The sunshine roll was a huge winner. Size of food — The rolls /sushi /sashimi here were generally larger pieces than Sushi Palace. I guess it doesn’t really matter since it’s all you can eat anyway, but it’s nice not to have to order 50 pieces of sashimi to get the equivalent 25. Hibachi — The chicken hibachi was surprisingly good! Although it was quite a big portion, so perhaps make sure you have a lot of people to share it with. WHERESUSHIPALACEWINS: Salmon sashimi — Masa’s sashimi was good, but I think I might like Sushi Palace’s a bit more. On the other hand, the sashimi slices at Masa are really big(not the tiny pieces at Sushi Palace if you order a lot). Variety of sashimi/sushi offerings — Masa offers Spanish mackerel(that Sushi Palace does not), but Sushi Palace offers EEL(so good) and albacore. Spicy Seaweed salad — The version at Masa had a little bit too much mayo, so while it was good, I think I prefer the Sushi Palace version. Dinner pricing(esp. weekdays) — Since the weekday prices are just $ 20.95, it’s definitely a better choice for dinner(even on weekends). Like Sushi Palace, Masa would forget a few things from our order here and there, but I guess it’s hard to get everything right. Other than already mentioned, the age tofu and shumai were good, and the green tea ice cream was a nice way to round out the meal(they don’t have red bean though, which Sushi Palace does have). In general, I think I might like Sushi Palace a little more for pure sushi(since they have eel sashimi) but with the price differential, I think I’ll be visiting Masa Sushi more often. UPDATE: Having gone back to Masa Sushi several times, and the quality of the yellowtail has never been as good as the first time. Perhaps the first time was a fluke. The shumai, however, was surprisingly good. Also, the roll I got was good, but it also had an ample amount of wasabi over it, which I did not enjoy. Also, went to dinner and tried the fuji yama, which is this weird combo with deep fried salmon and mango. Wouldn’t try that again.

We went on a weekday night and it was crowded. I would recommend to make reservations before coming so you don’t have to wait long. The décor of the place stood out and it gave a warm and pleasant feeling. You order by marking how many of each type of dish or sushi roll you want on a paper menu and then give it to the waiter. Its all you can eat, but they charge extra if you don’t finish everything you ordered. This place is similar to Sushi Palace located in Princeton, NJ which is another all you can eat sushi restaurant. They don’t charge extra for green tea. The price for dinner was $ 25.

Sushi doesn’t agree with me so I had the Gyoza and the Ramen with a small bowl of Miso Soup. The Miso was good, but honestly that’s pretty hard to screw up. My 3 pieces of gyoza came out barely warm, okay, I guess I can deal with that. Then came the«ramen». I put ramen in quotes because it was the most mediocre ramen bowl I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t call it terrible, but I’ve had fantastic ramen bowls in the past. I didn’t eat the whole bowl cause I enjoyed it, I ate the whole bowl because I was hungry, I had already paid for it and didn’t want to get slapped with A FEEFORNOTFINISHINGIT. REALLY? That’s unfortunate. My girlfriend had sushi and she’ll be leaving her own review, but she wasn’t pleased either. She said she’s had better sushi at all you can eat buffet tables. Oh, the music is pleasant and the décor is nice. Let’s end on a high note. Yay.

Better than Sushi Palace in service and food! The price is 18.95 for lunch on weekends as well. I like the taste of their sashimi and love love their spicy crab salad. Rolls: Highly recommend the Salmon Lover, Mexican, and Kyoto Roll. They don’t charge extra for green tea and their green tea ice cream is great. I would recommend going at off peak hours as we would be waiting a while in between order since the place was PACKED on Sunday @ 1 pm. That’s to be expected, I’ll make sure to go a little later or earlier next time. Also, want to mention that our waitress was awesome and very attentive.

After looking for new AYCE sushi spots, we finally decided to take the trek to Masa Sushi. The atmosphere at Masa is really nice and elegant, but because the space is small I’d recommend making reservations if it’s available. The sushi was a huge highlight for us as their special rolls were really delicious and different from rolls at Sushi Palace and Sushi Saga. We recommend getting the Phoenix Roll and the Lemon Salmon Roll(only available for dinner). The only reason I didn’t give Masa Sushi five stars is because it’s the most expensive out of most AYCE places we’ve been to, as well as the fact that there’s only a few menu options available for dinner that doesn’t really compensate a $ 6 increase for us. If you’re in the area definitely give it a try! It’s easily one of the better AYCE sushi places in the NJ area.

I would of given this place a 4 star if not for what I witnessed when I was there. The food is amazing for the price but while waiting for the bathroom, I heard a flush of the toilet and immediately the door opened. It was a cook from the kitchen using the ladies room without washing his hands! Now I was immediately disappointed as this was our go to place but because of this, I will never return here. I loved the variety of their menu compared to other places. Not too many made to order Japanese places.

Went here twice last week. I live 10 minutes away from Masa Sushi and these are the first visits I made. My verdict: why did I wait so long? I’ve heard that this place is just ok, which probably attributed to my delay in dining here but that is simply not the case. The price? $ 25 for all you can eat sushi. Yes, it’s more expensive than Sushi Palace. But then again, the fish is actually FRESH here. The service is FASTER. The waiters are FRIENDLIER. Overall, Masa is greater than Sushi Palace. I love me some all-you-can eat sushi. First I used to go to Sushi Palace. Then my boyfriend introduced me to Nakayama Sushi in Hazlet($ 30 pp but it’s awesome there!). Now, I’ve discovered Masa Sushi! I still like Nakayama a little better, but for the freshness of the sushi/quick, friendly service/convenient Princeton location, I love Masa. Don’t complain about the price. You get what you pay for, and your experience will be better than at Sushi Palace. ALSO: BYOB! — I was here last Friday with my boyfriend. We went around 7:30pm and they were packed. We asked to sit at the sushi bar. There were about 4 sushi chefs working. We got our drinks promptly and after ordering food, they began serving our orders in less than 10 minutes. Did I mention it was PACKED in there? Once we started eating, we were amazed at the freshness of the fish. Always start off with the Spicy Seaweed salad! If you’re used to Sushi Palace menus, you’ll find Masa’s spicy seaweed salad on the entrée menu, not the appetizers. Server checked in on us regularly. Free refills. We asked the sushi chef for a side of jalapenos and he gave us a bunch without any trouble. We asked to save 2 free seats next to us as my parents decided they wanted to join us last minute. They didn’t save the seats, which I don’t blame them for as there were a flood of people that came in as soon as I asked them. Ended with green tea ice cream and red bean ice cream(red bean is not on the menu, request it). Both were creamy and not artificial tasting like you get at some places. We had a decent handful of sushi left and was not charged a fee for having leftovers. Final bill was around $ 55 for two people. Worth it for the fastest sushi service I’ve had to date! I’ll be coming back again and again.

Fully comparing to Sushi Palace’s buffet: it is not as good overall. However, the service is much better(more polite and attentive waitresses). The buffet is overall a great option, with both hot food and sushi choices. If I’m spending $ 25 on a sushi buffet, I would rather go to Sushi Palace. There are not as many sashimi choices, and there is no red bean ice cream!!! But, given the location, it is more convenient to get to, and the rolls are decent at best.
