Hills hills hills! Little did I know when signing up for this race that the Princeton area has a lot of challenging inclines which makes this half marathon unique and attractive to runners bored with a flat course. Hurricane Joaquin left us with some undesired weather for the October 2015 race, but rain or shine the race must go on! About 1500 runners gathered for this small town race through the scenic greenery of the Princeton area as well as through the renowned Princeton University. This race featured all ages, not just college students like I expected. It was nice to run through a suburban wooded area which still featured a large after-party for runners, this year at The Alchemist Barrister for 3 hours featuring a $ 10 all you can eat breakfast buffet and drink specials! The medal wasn’t as adorable as the squirrel t-shirt, but they do feature the signature color of Princeton– orange! I would recommend this race to someone who is looking for a more challenging half marathon and trains for hill running.
