One of five indoor tennis centers in the Greater Princeton area, and arguably the busiest. Why? It’s a well-maintained facility in a convenient location with good amenities, enthusiastic teaching, friendly staff, and competitive pricing. The facility was renovated about two years ago and boasts six indoor courts that are well-lit, upstairs and downstairs viewing lounges, nice locker rooms(the men’s reportedly has a sauna), a kitchenette with vending machines, and a personal training facility with trainers(separate fees of course). They offer an extensive program of classes and private lessons with certified teachers for all ages and levels of tennis players as well as organized opportunities for competitive play – USTA leagues, tournaments, round robins, etc. You can also reserve court-time(using the online reservation system) for informal game play with your friends. Be warned. Court time can be tough to snag during peak times on weekends, so reserve well in advance if you can.

Great courts. I’ve played numerous tournaments here, and the facilities are top notch. There’s 6 clay and 2 hard-top courts outside, if I remember correctly. Inside are several other courts; 4 I believe. The tennis shop is quaint and has a limited selection, but is alright if you need an emergency grip or shock absorber. Their private lesson rates, while alright for a club, are inflated, as all clubs are. NEVERPAYMORETHAN $ 50/hr FOR A PRIVATELESSON! Go to your local courts, find a coach teaching a lesson and observe from afar. If you like his style, approach him and ask if he’ll take you on as a student and give you a tryout lesson. His rates should be around $ 40/hr, maybe $ 45. PTP charges $ 80/hr, and though that does include the use of their nice courts, which is nice in winter, how much of that do you think the coach actually earns? Much less. A nice tennis club with great courts, but overpriced as all clubs are.

Swing through the ball! Run faster! Remember when your older brother used to trick you into«playing» 52 card pick-up? Now imagine that but with an entire cart of tennis balls. That’s what we call a workout, PTP-style. But seriously, while it’s been a while since I’ve done anything PTP-related, Larisa is wonderful and the staff as a whole tends to be pretty together. The girl’s prep camp used to have it’s own little cult following, but I can’t vouch for it since Alice is no longer with the program.
