Great food and cold beer. Service was excellent. Steak sandwich was tender and cooked perfect medium. Homemade chips are great!

Was very disappointed… My party was sat at a table in the far corner of a room we where told was ten dollars extra. The area we sat in was cold because we were sat near the entrance. The food was over price and my friend ordered a steak dinner her salad was all lettuce. Her steak was over done and when she asked for a new one it was under done and we felt as if your paying 13 – 15 for your meal per person the food should be a little more then just pass able.

Went to a luncheon here yesterday & had the Strawberry Chicken Salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing! Excellent choice & was so good! Everyone else’s food looked equally good; soup, coconut shrimp, special of the day, sandwiches, etc. I will definitely come again.

Should have ignored the advice from a well-meaning store clerk to avoid ‘Big Apple’ and instead have dinner at Wise Guys. This joint is a loser, and they should be embarrassed to provide such poor food and service. The only thing satisfactory about my meal was the Barritt’s Ginger Beer(in the can). I’ve had that before and it’s a winner. On the other hand, the salad served with the chicken pot pie special was little more than brown-tinged iceberg lettuce with a couple of cucumber slices, one piece of red onion, and a few grams of carrot. On a scale of 1 – 10, it was a 2. The $ 1 salad at Wendy’s(which was just across the street!) is better. Way better. As to the entrée, the chicken pot pie was inferior to anything I’ve ever had in this category of comfort food. Swanson’s frozen version is far superior to this pretender. It was served in a ceramic tureen, with only the top covered with a limp crust. The contents were little more than chicken-ish soup. I asked for a bigger spoon, because it was impossible to eat with a fork or the teaspoon included with the thin paper napkin in which the utensils were wrapped. Too salty, virtually zero vegetables, and not much chicken. So, I also ordered chicken strips after realizing that my dinner was so pathetic, and I dunked them in this ‘pot pie’ soupy mess. The salad dressing, and honey mustard dipping sauce for the chicken strips, were each served in little paper cups — like you’d see at Wendy’s, but which are to be expected there. Such class… not. The server apparently didn’t care that my food was so unsatisfactory; she studiously avoided asking me even the perfunctory«is everything okay». I wouldn’t go back to this place even if somebody else was paying. I could have eaten at the aforementioned fastfood place three times — and been satisfied and full — for the price of this one crummy dinner. If ever you find yourself on Interstate 80 near Princeton, IL, do yourself and your stomach a favor and go elsewhere. McDonalds, Wendy’s, Big Apple, or any other spot at this off-ramp have to be much better bets. As would be, no doubt, the food options at the adjacent gas stations. Egads, what a clinker!

The food here hit the spot! I ordered the western burger, which was ginormous and came with really enjoyable seasoned fries. They reminded me of curly fries but straight. The burger itself, as mentioned, was huge and was cooked just right. Our waitress/bartender was very friendly and attentive. No complaints here, would go again anytime I’m in Princeton.

Wonderful food! I loved the soup, salad and potato bar. The service is not fast but it is friendly and accurate. Be prepared to take your time.

At first glance it looks like a great place. I had a steak with veggies and mash potatoes they ran out of steak at 6pm and had to run to Walmart for more. The veggies were frozen in the middle the instant potatoes drew the line! I walked out and went to the big apple across the street. I will never go nor recommend this place!

Worst customer service ever! Food was bland, soggy and down right horrible. We sat for 35 minutes for a waitress even stopped by our table, no greeting whatsoever and she was just plain rude. Came by our table once the whole time we were there.

I decided to go here based on a recommendation of a local resident I worked with today. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It comes with a salad as well. The salad was lettuce, one slice of cucumber & one slice of onion and croutons. No tomatoes or carrots. Overall it was disappointing. The fettuccine wasn’t a whole lot better. It was cold and the sauce had started to congeal. The garlic bread that came with it was obviously a frozen product. Service was slow and lacking. My waitress didn’t refill my soda until I was nearly done eating my meal. Overall not a great experience at all.

We eat at Wise Guys whenever we’re in Princeton, and sometimes make a special trip just to eat there. My wife always gets the tenderloin sandwich, and I always get the reubin. They are superb! The homemade potato chips are fantastic! The sweet potato fries aren’t. This is very much a bar and grill, not a fancy restaurant. The food is excellent!

Lobster Bisque was very good. Side salad was ok. I wanted a glass of water as the bisque was a little warm tasting for me, but I read the reviews that they charged 20 cents for water and opted not to. House merlot doable. Not sure what the brand was. House brand was ok too.

I actually changed my mind about this place. The first few times I ate there, I wasn’t impressed. It was ok, but nothing outstanding… But I stopped in with my wife one evening when we were in town and decided to give it another shot… I couldn’t believe the difference! The homemade onion rings were some of the best I have ever had. I ordered the Black & Bleu Burger and was thrilled with it. My wife let me try her chicken quesadilla and it was fantastic. Plus, the service is fast & friendly. We will be stopping here a lot more often in the future!

My dad and I wandered in at the conclusion of part one of a 2,700-mile road trip. We were staying across the street and looking for a good meal, and that’s what we got. I had the chicken parm, which was very good. I also added an order of fries, which were crispy yet not overdone. My dad had a quesadilla plate and a bowl of lobster bisque, which he wiped out pretty quickly. The ambiance of the place is nice. There are plenty of TV’s, as well as autographed pictures hanging up around the building(including one of John Wayne). We sat at the bar, and service was very sharp.

We stopped in because we were in town for a wedding and staying at the AmericInn across the parking lot. Nice, big bar and convenient location, open late with friendly bartenders and strong drinks.
