Delicious homemade ice cream and the prices are not too bad. We got 2 double scooped orders, one in a special cone and they all amounted to $ 15.42. They allow you to taste different flavors prior to purchasing. My favorite flavors are the Kaua’i Pie and Caramel Cashew Turtle. Extra tip: if you are getting these two flavors, just get a regular waffle. I made mistake of getting a chocolate dipped waffle cone on top of the two flavors I mentioned; hence, it was too sweet.

Get the mango and lilikoi! The mango flavor taste like a freshly picked mango right off the tree. It’s so good!

The service is quick, even with a long line. They give good scoop sizes and have top notch flavors. Try the Kauai Pie.

Stopped here multiple times on our trip. Very very good ice cream and nice friendly employees. The house made fudge and caramel are great. My fave was the Pumpkin crunch sundae which came with butter walnut crumble. It was so good and a large portion. I did end up feeling guilty at the end. Another fave was the chocolate ganache ice cream which was so rich and yummy.

Stopped into this little hole-in-the-wall ice creamery for a late-night snack and was not disappointed. It’s a really small shop with a really local feel. The ladies who work there are really friendly and you can sit outside enjoying your ice cream while watching them hand make waffle cones. I went for a scoop of the Nēnē tracks, which was kind of a version of moose tracks, but better: vanilla ice cream, fudge swirl, chocolate covered caramels and macadamia nuts. It was crazy good. Their shakes are delicious as well, but I’d stick to a size small — they’re really rich and can have you in a sugar coma in 0.5 seconds. Can’t wait to go back and try their other flavors!

Love me some Lappert’s! We visit the Sausalito location(no longer affiliated with the Hawaiian operation) frequently, and we never miss it when on Kauai. This location serves the same great ice cream, but their scoops are stingier than in Hanapepe(the best location). Kona Lava Java FTW!

Super courteous staff here. They let us sample at least 4 ice creams before getting a double scoop. We tried a few of the local flavors in a cup. Also got an iced coffee. The iced coffee is good — comparable to other local coffee shops, but nothing extraordinary. The ice cream scoops were good. There were big chunks of oreo and nuts inside. Reasonable price at $ 6. Would visit again for ice cream as it’s a local business!

yes! Yes Yes! Oh hell yes!!! this place rocks! Took the family there a couple nights back. All got different flavors and I tasted each one. All were fabulous. My fav was the Kauai pie, and oh snap! Almost as amazing was the passion fruit, but that one can get a little sour by the end of the scoop. There are plenty of benches nearby if you want to sit, but none inside the store. In fact the store is very cramped. The prices are on par with what any other frozen yogurt place and the service is pretty good too. We will be back, and back, and back.

Amazing ice cream! I had a waffle cone with a praline-based ice cream with gooey caramel, ample chocolate bits, and macadamia. I almost wept with joy.

The KONA flavor is INSANE! It is seriously sooo goood and perfect for an afternoon treat on the island. We stopped in twice for the KONA ice cream and even grabbed an iced coffee with their house roast and that was amazing as well

Tiny tiny tiny! I mean, if you are having an Ice Cream Emergency, by all means stop in for a scoop or three. But this is a very small nook of a shop, with a line out the door and very minimal seating of its own(there are more seats in the Princeville Shopping Center, but you have to walk around a bit — especially when it’s crowded). And when you’re inside that shop and trying to look at the available flavors while the people in front of you are trying to pay? Tight squeeeeze! I enjoyed the Koloa location better, for its indoor & outdoor seating, easy store flow, and larger inventory(This location were out of chocolate dipped cones when I visited!). This location is more of a grab and go kind of shop, I think. HOWEVER, you should still stop here if you’re considering it, and here’s why: Lappert’s ice cream is beyond fantastic. I mean it’s probably some of the best quality ice cream I’ve ever had, with amazing island flavor combos and huge scoops as big as your face. My husband and I both had the Banana Fudge, which might just be the most perfect scoop of ice cream you’ll ever have in your life! Seriously, just try it.

Excellent local ice cream chain with island flavors. Kona coffee, coconut, lilicoi, chocolate – it’s all good! Coconut had real pieces of coconut in it. Keiki cone for the little ones. Plus you’re already parked at Foodland, so why not?

This is a cool place for ice cream if you are in the Princeville area. They have some great Hawaiian flavors that are handmade on the island including Kona coffee, Mac nuts, lilikoi etc. We had the Kauai Pie and the Mac nut coconut caramel flavors and both were creamy and refreshing with a lot of crunch! The Mac nut waffle cone is also a personal favorite of mine.

Made a stop here after driving around the north shore. The store was tiny and we had to shuffle around with the other customers to get a good look at the flavors. I wanted to try a little bit of the icecream first before committing to buy one but unfortunately that day, they didn’t give out samples. I ended up getting the Kauai pie and my husband got the Kona coffee. The Kauai pie was a bit too sweet for my liking. Although I did enjoy the coconut shavings and nuts. It’s something to try while in Kauai but I’d rather get shaved ice or halo halo from Ono.

the icecream is great smooth and creamy without being heavy and clawingly sweet i tried the kauai pie which was a great combination of coconut, fudge and other bits of goodness i also tried the kona coffee with hot fudge. the hot fudge is home made and also highly recommended. also tried the nene tracks. it was caramel with vanilla and macadamia nuts as well as peanut butter chocolate chunks can you tell i like ice-cream?

One scoop mocha lava java, 1 scoop kauai pie, 1 scoop lilikoi = $ 10.61. Ridiculously expensive. Quality is good not great. There are several gelato shops in northern CA where I live that make far superior ice cream for a much lower price. None the less, the line out the door in this miniscule place is 20 people long. Save money, go next door to Foodland. Get a pint of Haagen-daz for $ 3.99.

Ice cream and sorbet gets 5 stars; customer service for natives also gets 5 stars; and the customer service for us land-lovers… 2 stars. I had some of the best sorbet in my life here. It was a mix of passion fruit and coconut, and I usually don’t like coconut. They also hand-make their waffle cones here and they are absolutely delicious. The woman at the counter, however, was extremely nice to the gentleman in front of us who was a native to the area and basically gave us a cold stare when we were deciding what to get. Easily the worst and rudest person we encountered on our trip.
