The best! I really loved this bar and the view! Personnel is very helpful as well. Ice-creams that we ordered were great, as well as our drinks. Great place to see sunset :)

We went here for drinks on the terrace and the service was awful. We arrived and they told us to take a seat on the patio, there were probably 3 servers working and 2 other parties in the bar area. After sitting outside for 10 minutes I asked the bartender if we could just order. She poured our beer and then said someone would deliver them. Another 10 minutes go by and I go in again to ask the bartender if I could just take the beers out myself since no one came and she said no. By this point the beers were warm and they had to pour us 2 more, which were eventually delivered. We would have stayed for another drink and food, but after spending 45 minutes to get a beer we went elsewhere.

Worst service in all of Hawaii. After 30 minutes of being ignored by an unattractive old lady server got up and left without a drink.

OMG I will stay here next time just so I can have one of their Mai Tais delivered to my room every morning for breakfast. And I totally am not a daily drinker. But these were absolutely fabulous stupid delicious. This was what I envisioned of a true Hawaiian Mai Tai. Consistent as well. We had quite a few! Go for the sunset. It was raining that day so we had a little glimpse but it was such an amazing view. The appetizers were good. Nothing super spectacular but nothing to complain either. I’d say average. I did expect more from the St. Regis. We had the chicken skewers, fried cauliflower, and rainbow roll. My boyfriend said the rainbow roll was good. Nothing memorable. But like I said the Mai Tai is a must and that is why I give them 5 stars. However the food is a little overpriced for what I expected from such a lavish resort.

Total disappointment. We were excited to stay in princeville and be able to walk to the st Regis. On our first day we had some cocktails and lunch at the pool bar and we’re happy with the quality. A few nights later we went to the lobby bar for cocktails and a little bite to eat, it was atrocious! The crab cakes were gummy, soggy and flavorless unless you count very fishy as a flavor! The cocktails were overly sweet and under flavored the pool bar was much better. We also had the chips and dip. A seemingly easy Maui onion and jalapeño dip with fried wontons. Again no flavor, it was pretty much all sour cream and cream cheese. No flavor from the onion jalapeño or salt! Just bland. Needless to say we will not be coming back and have also canceled our Sunday brunch reservations. Not the quality I would expect from a st Regis hotel.

This place is such a disappointment. The only thing working is the view. As a guest of the St Regis who is paying a hefty price for a suite you would expect the hotel bar to follow the high standards the hotel is trying to achieve. Unfortunately the three times we’ve sat here for drinks we’ve waited on average of 30 minutes for a server to approach our table. They don’t seem to be customer oriented to say the least. The manager for the entire food side of the hotel should be thankful he has a job; I would’ve dismissed him/her already as the food isn’t up to a 5 star hotels caliber. They should send them to the Four Seasons for a week on Maui to learn what running food and beverage for a «5» star hotel should be like. I won’t return for a stay until they fix this problem but after reading the other reviews of dissatisfaction I’m guessing they don’t care.

You cannot beat the view at the St. Regis! It is truly world class. Although the dining and drinks are a little pricey, it’s the best way to get to take advantage of the amazing grounds at the St. Regis without actually staying there. Coming here is a must when you are on the island of Kauai.

Only ate here once, ordered slider burgers and fries and two beers(Sam Adams and Blue Moon). Food was average. As typical for St. Regis, the waitstaff are exceptional and plenty in number to ensure that you do not wait too long or have a bad experience. We got to the bar area at 6:10 and ordered, ate, and paid to leave by 6:55 pm on a Wednesday night.

I firmly believe that a lobby bar can be a great assest and refelection for a hotel and the bar at St. Regis is a really bad bar! This view is incredible, but for the grandeur that is the St. Regis… get a better bar. This lobby bar is a prime location to sit and enjoy a well crafted cocktail, good beer, or glass of wine; the view is amazing. The bar is poorly stocked and the stuff they have is nothing special. The drinks are Applebee’s quality at best, but priced like an LA bar. The apps on the menu are poorly thought out. It was a room service menu at a La Quinta. This place needs to mix well crafted, local inspired cocktails(a Mai Tai can be a classy cocktail) and some of the old classics from the mainland. The lobby is going to get foot traffic. People are going to come. At least gouge them with a decent drink.

First– you can’t beat the location or the views, as they are lovely and worth the trip. However, don’t expect service. Unfortunately, this establishment(and the entire hotel) is extremely lacking in enough bars and kitchen amenities to service the number of guests since its renovation in 2005 to become The St. Regis. We found the champagne hour cute, at first, then totally lame because unless you were an eager beaver, you couldn’t participate since the outdoor space is so incredibly tiny. The seating, views, and menu(both cocktails, wine list, and food) are good, but the service is worse than being in an overcrowded club on NYE trying to get a glass of champagne. Go for the views, just don’t expect decent service at all. And, make sure you have a lot of time to spend waiting for your drink, the server, and the bill. At least you’re in paradise and on vacation, right?

Kind of pricey, but very nice. My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful Kauai sunset with a bottle of champagne. Warmly recommended.

Beautiful bar with great service. Maybe the best view from a bar in the United States.

Shame on me for not checking Unilocal first. Went for the sunset view and the place was a zoo. This should be a swanky cool vibe, but instead it turns into a circus atmosphere the closer it gets to sunset. The wait staff gets so overloaded, they don’t even try to treat folks with any civility. It’s obvious that the St Regis must get stuffed for many drinks since they require that you open a tab before you order a drink. I wouldn’t mind that, but I would expect my martini to get to me sometime within a half hour. Nope. Then to get hit with a $ 35 tab for two drinks? Wow. I get it. It’s Hawaii. It’s the St Regis. But we’ve stayed in much nicer places with equally awesome sunsets that didn’t have this poor of service or this insane of an atmosphere.

The St Regis Bar has a classy, upscale vibe that definitely adds to a good experience. The bar seems to be known for being expensive, and it certainly lives up to its reputation. I ordered the blue kaua’i, a rum drink mixed with pineapple juice and blue curacao. The drink was sweet and tangy, but not necessarily worth $ 16 plus tip(and the 20 minute wait to get a drink). We weren’t able to get seats outside on the deck, but the view itself was phenomenal. Feel free to take a look at the picture I included below. We went on a Wednesday evening, around 7pm, and there was live music which added to the ambiance. We stayed around for the daily champagne toast, but it wasn’t really anything special. The St Regis Bar is something you should visit if you’re living in the area, but it’s not worth driving more than 20 minutes unless you’re going to see the view!

The St Regis is lavish and beautiful but… personally, not worth the price tag. Yeah, you’re paying for the environment. But I guess over-the-top luxury just isn’t my jam. Overall, a swanky place to go have a peek but I’d give the valet parking and overpriced cocktails a miss and admire the sunset with the locals at Hanalei pier(plus the view’s better there!)

Two things: 1) there isn’t a better view anywhere in Hawaii. 2) the Red Snapper Bloody Mary lives up to its legendary status.

There is just a little I can add to what has already been well documented here. A quick recap: the views of the sunset over Hanalei Bay are very spectacular, arrive early(no later than 5:30) for patio seating, there will likely be mosquitoes out there, the cocktails are tasty but expensive, the service is either stellar or terrible(your mileage may vary), and at sunset they cut the head off a champagne bottle and serve the most honored guest(that will not be you). Oh. Valet parking is free. Expect a high dollar, antiseptic resort experience. It is very nice, bland, expensive. The service during our visit was good. The air conditioning was a welcome relief from the heat of the day. We spent $ 100 on two rounds of drinks. Up the way from the St. Regis on Ka Haku Road, there is a small roadside greenspace with several benches in it. The sunset from there is just as spectacular as anything you will see from the patio at the St. Regis. You won’t miss the spot, a crowd will gather there, too. You will not have to spend a mint on libations to see the view.

Amazing view from the terrace(see my pic). Come here before early evening and grab a drink outside so you can watch the sunset. The drinks are a little pricy but you are partially paying for the view so get out there and get your money’s worth. The bar inside is a little dated but luxe and comfy. We ordered some lobster rolls, which were pretty good, and some chocolate banana dessert, also pretty good. I would expect nothing less coming from the Jean-Georges’ Kauai Grill kitchen. If you’re on the North Shore, there’s nowhere more romantic to get drinks with your loved one. Highly recommend!

One of the best places to catch a sunset even if you’re not a hotel guest. You get the complete panoramic view of majestic mountains and rhythmic undulating blue of the bay all from high atop a cliff. Every night they have a sunset tradition during which they saber a bottle of champagne and gift it to whomever is celebrating the most tenured wedding anniversary. Anyone with man parts will think this whole sword display is awesome, albeit brief. The menu has great but pricey drink options and the pupu appetizers start at 5:30pm. Again, men will get a rise out of anything dubbed as «pupu» so you really can’t go wrong. We particularly enjoyed the mushroom spring rolls and salmon crispy rice. The St. Regis is known for their Bloody Mary and they do a couple of fun variations worth checking out. Always stay for the post-sunset glow, when the aura of light creates a halo behind the mountains that reflects off the darkening mirror created by the bay below. If you bail too early you may miss the best part of the after glow.

Four words: Bloody Mary Menu. Oops! Sorry, I have had a few to many Aloha Mary’s to be attempting addition like that. Anyhoo, this place is awesome for 2 reasons and pretty alright for a third. First, its a bar in the St. Regis, so you expect to get a good drink and a nice pour, especially for $ 19.00 a drink. Thankfully, they deliver with a fantastic drink menu and talented bar tenders. I highly, highly recommend the Aloha Mary, the Ginger margarita and the pineapple mojito. The ginger marg calls my name, seriously. The salty ginger rim takes it to the next level. Of all the Bloodys I tried, I genuinely liked the Aloha the best. Disclaimer: I did not try the Texas variety. But, why take my word when you can try them all yourself! I posted a pic of the Bloody Mary list if you want to take a peek. The second great thing about the bar is that the view at sunset is amazing. Like snowflakes and a$$holes, every sunset is different. We watched most of them on our trip and were rewarded with the best one on the last night. Truthfully though, they are all spectacular. Lastly, they have a nice sushi menu. I thought the sushi was good, but nothing over the top amazing. Simple and fresh, but probably flavor combinations you have seen before. You’ll want to order something if you plan on having a few drinks. Trust me.
