I am fully aware of the difference between a thrift shop and a consignment shop and after years of shopping at both my review stands. Good luck to you and your business.

Lets start with that fact that I do not post many reviews but for Lucy’s Garage and the exceptional customer service I received I just had to!!! Many of my friends have found great stuff at Lucy’s Garage so this past weekend I decided to drop by and see what I can find. How could I not after hearing all my friends rant and rave about what a great consignment store this was with a huge selection of designer items. I walked in and to my surprise the store was huge and really looked and felt like a real garage only with better décor and organization. There were 2 people on staff and one of them was the owner Lucy, she was a joy to deal with. I explained to her that I was looking for a specific Louis Vuitton pouch and she took my name and phone number down so that if anyone brings one in I will be her first call– now this is what i call AMAZING customer service. While browsing around I found some great buys not only for myself but for my 3 year old son, they had a huge selection of DVD’s and toys. I did end up buying some plates and eating utensils for our summer house at a price that not even Walmart could beat. I now know why my friends come here before they hit the big department stores. LUCY’S GARAGE has made me a believer in Consignment stores and this will ALWAYS be my 1st stop before heading anywhere else. If you guys haven’t tried this store before I HIGHLY suggest that you do, there is something for everyone!!! Cant wait to come back!!!

I was driving by here one day when I was in the area and thought I would stop by. The place is very spacious and very well organized. All the employees seemed super nice and very helpful when I said I was looking for some new tools to purchase. The owner Lucy was really quick to find me the perfect tool kit and the price was very fair. They also allow you to use 20% coupons which I found in the value pack so you can tell they really know how to market their business. Overall, a great experience, friendly staff, a huge variety of things in the store and decent prices for everything. I’m definitely planning on coming back and may even make an appointment to consign my own things since I like their business approach. You get 50% of what they sell which is a lot better than the 30−40% offered by other stores. Lucy’s Garage, I will be back so keep on getting more tools and other great gadgets in.

I brought in items to consign here and when I picked up my items a decent amount of them sold, so I was happy about that, but I was unaware that my items would be on sale or be able to be used with coupons so I felt like some of the items that sold were for so cheap I would have rather just donated them. The owner is very nice and pleasant but I did have a dry-cleaned dress that I paid a lot to have cleaned and it was returned to me off the hanger, found on the FLOOR all crumpled up. I now have to re-clean it if I want to sell it again or get it steamed. I was very dissapointed at how my item was treated. It was a $ 250 dress that I wore once and paid $ 15 to clean because of the layers and pleats on it. It was very unprofessional or should have at least offered to pay to steam it for me. Probably will not bring my items in again. I felt like I had some of the nicer items that the store offered and they were being sold as if they were dingy old items.

I think I might go again if I lived close. 2 employees there when I went. Pleasant enough. Many odds and ends. Hit or miss. They do have many dvds. I did not check the price. They do have some color tags which are a certain percentage off. I did not even look at the Last Call rack as it is make us an offer and I do not like to haggle. I would think that this area could use a place like this. Give them a chance and see for yourself. There is off street parking.

She want to much $$$ for junk that she sells. Go to Salvation Army and get junk for cheaper and help others.

As I was driving by Elmhurst Rd, I stumbled upon Lucy’s Garage. Me and the word garage don’t usually come together, I prefer me and Chanel, but the Tiffany blue writing of Lucy got my attention so I stopped by to check it out. It’s located on a plaza full of parking so that’s always a plus. The place was adorable, I mean adorable for a consignment store. It literally had everything from clothes to baby clothes and baby things, dvd’s, appliances, furniture, and long behold, they even had some of my favorite designer Chanel purses. I mean, I’m not a lover of used, but this store had everything in such great condition that you can easily find gifts for your friends and family or even for yourself. There is a nice dressing room with a mirror where you can try stuff on and some couches to sit on if you get tired while shopping. Here was the best part, I got to talk to the owner Lucy. She was absolutely sweet and very helpful in telling me where everything was. The store is nicely organized and I come back weekly to check up on new additions. The prices are absolutely fair and you can negotiate, Lucy is nice and will work with you to fit your budget and needs. What’s even better is that it’s a consignment store where you can bring some of your gently used or new things that you no longer want and she will try to sell it for you, but make an appointment in advance since they can get pretty busy. Once she sells your stuff, she will pay you a commission of what she earns, which I think is really fair since it’s better than dealing w/ebay or amazon. Lucy’s garage who knew that it would be added to my weekly must visits aside from Target and Neimans, it’s just a fun place to stop by. Plus, I can’t get over that Tiffany Blue wall in the back, definitely my style. Oh, and it’s nice and bright in there which automatically puts you in a good mood while you shop. I definitely recommend it to my family friends and Unilocalers as a must visit.

Lucy’s Garage has just recently opened up in a beautifully spacious building right on Elmhurst Rd/83. I am not much of a shopper when it comes to thrift stores, but there were so many things that I wanted! Thanks to Lucy’s Garage, my kitchen walls are now complete and looking cuter than ever! As I said, it’s a beautiful location and very well organized; I had no problems finding what I needed and didn’t even need to ask any questions because it’s all arranged by categories. Lucy’s Garage has a very nice variety when it comes to clothes — everything from babies, kids, teens, adults, etc. She’s got everything from random t-shirts that have Ghost Busters on them, to a beautiful Christian Dior dress, and boy did I want that dress, but unfortunately, it wasn’t my size. There are designer shoes as well, if that is what you are looking for. Besides clothes, there is a really nice rack of DVDs — from classic to Disney. Lucy’s Garage has lots of china, kitchen necessities, technology(new and old), collectible items and pretty much anything else that you can name. As I was checking out at the register, the owner was telling a different customer that they can both buy products and/or take things on consignment. I happened to find this store through a business page on Facebook, and I recommend liking it as well because there are constant new deals and items posted throughout the week. Just like the store, the owner was more than delightful and very pleasant to do business with. She’s helped me change my mind about thrift stores and I may have to start shopping around more often :)
