You can get a large escovitch fish meal for $ 9.00 including tax. This includes rice, two fish, and a choice of one side. If you want macaroni pie (poor man’s mac and cheese), its extra. You can also get a salad.
Its not the best fish I’ve had, as it isn’t cooked on the spot, rather cooked in a big batch and sold throughout the day. So its usually a little old tasting… not days old, just hours old. I wish they would keep it in a warmer or something, but whatever.
Skip the festivals. When I asked the woman if they were fresh, she looked so offended. Then I realized she gave me an extra, super hard one because she knew they weren’t fresh.
I can’t vouch for anything else on the menu, as I don’t eat any other animal but people line up. The service is somewhat fast and you get a lot of food. If I really want good food I’ll just go around the corner to Peppas.
