I have always wanted a local spot that knows my name and TASTEOFBROOKLYNISIT!!! Relaxed vibe with the friendliest staff, great eats and a pretty extensive bar. I’ve tried most of their menu and the new selections they have going are delicious. From the jerk chicken steamed buns, to their burgers and wings, to the chicken and carrot cake waffles(that’s right… carrot cake waffles!) it’s all good. Their chefs are on point! Not to mention I am deeply and meaningfully in love will ALL of their bartenders. Garrett, Justin and Dylan provide the perfect amount of eye candy, amusement and mixology skills to keep this place a part of my regular rotation. Keep up the good work!

First time at the restaurant. We went for happy hour. The restaurant was featuring taco Tuesday and frozen margaritas as a special for the day. We decided to have the $ 5 margaritas on the rocks, chips and guac and the hot wings. The margaritas were great. They were made with fresh lime juice and had a perfect balance of sweet and sour. They were out of the guacamole, but offered to make us chip and salsa instead. The salsa was amazing. It tasted fresh and homemade. The homemade flour tortilla chips were a great bonus as well. The hotwings were decently sized, crispy and just the perfect blend of spice, without burning your lips. I’ll definitely try the Triple H wings next time. We will definitely be back!

Really was hoping for a spot close by to get good food. I feel like this place could get there– just not quite. The décor is also throwing me off. I ordered the codfish cakes which where good– I think they could definitely try something other than aioli for the dipping sauce. I got the salmon because who can ruin salmon I was wrong. It was overly saucey along the lines of like a thick Bbq sauce brushed on and on. The salmon would have been fine without it. The greens and mash were okay. Probably not returning for food. Maybe drinks. The bartender Justin is friendly and on it.

the food was good although the first thing we ordered they were out of(we had steak salad and jerk chicken tacos) the service was painfully slow, like I wondered how this place makes money because we were never even offered a second drink

Hidden gem in Rogers! This place is a very nice small bar, very simple yet elegant. Food is great l, sample potions but very tasty; I tried the waffle & chicken, was not full at the end but definitely treated my senses a good treat. Chicken was marinated perfectly, crisped wonderfully and taste amazing. Carrot waffles were so gooood The staff was very friendly and atmosphere very comfy. Highly recommended

Not sure what part of Brooklyn I tasted. I don’t mind waiting a long time for food as long as it’s awesome. I waited half hour on a night that wasn’t even busy and the food was WACK. Didn’t taste great and the prices were too high for the area.

Unlimited mimosas and chicken and waffles for brunch is amazing here. Juicy chicken spiced and battered perfectly, and deep fried French toast — indulgent and delicious. Definitely will be back.

So i have a thing for chicken and waffles and the only reason y i took away a star ALL food must be hot when served they must of made the Waffles first because the Waffles was cold and the chicken was Hottt but nonetheless the food was very good my guest and I had apple raspberry mojito and it was strong and goood we did enjoy our selves the chefs started playing music and we was feeling the vibes … They had games to play very neat… Will come again

Loud top 40 hits juxtaposed against giant TVs playing Modern Family makes for a pretty terrible dinner atmosphere. Food was alright but basic with no flair. The jerk chicken buns were good. They didn’t have the beer I ordered and the bartender had to run out to buy a bottle of Diet Coke from a local bodega. Service was slow and inattentive. The waiter/bartender forgot basic details about the specials. A prolonged loud banging from the kitchen was disturbing and distracting with no explanation. We had high hopes for this place but you’re better off walking to Midwood Flats. We’re not coming back.

I live around the corner and have stopped in a half dozen times or so. Most times were fine. Food was okay, though a bit pricey for the area. That aside, service was good and it’s a place I really want to see succeed so I gave them benefit of the doubt and returned. However, last visit was a major disappointment. I emailed the manager twice directly before posting this and never got a reply. So, here goes… Me and my fiancé came in and Justin was our bartender/server. He was really nice but the menu and service was not. I ordered a cider… but he said they unexpectedly were out. I then ordered a diet coke… and he said they didn’t have any. Really, no diet soda at all in a bar/restaurant? We then ordered the quinoa dish on the menu and he said it was no longer on the menu. We than asked for the branzino on the menu and he again said, apologetically, it’s also not on the menu. I understand if a dish runs out late at night, or a keg is kicked earlier than expected, but 4 strikes in a row is a pretty bad sign. To make things worse, the chicken wings we ordered took more then 30 minutes to come out, and the Salmon we decided to get in lieu of Branzino took about 45 minutes. I won’t speculate what caused the kitchen to flop so badly, but I can’t in good faith give any positive review right now for Taste of Brooklyn. That said, I will hope this wretched service and supply was a fluke. Otherwise, our next trip will absolutely be our last.

This was a cute find. We started off with some basic drinks because the cocktails seems overly complicated. I ordered the salmon which came out very dry and I found it to be salty. It came with greens which were delicious and garlic mashed potatoes which were ok. The steak came with a salad and a choice of side which for me was macaroni and cheese. The salad was good and I enjoyed the dressing on it. The mac and cheese was ok. Although it was really cheesy which I like the macaroni was overly soft. Service was attentive albeit a bit slow. The food took a while to come even though we were one of only two groups in there.

Disclaimer: I didn’t eat anything. My friend did. I just had coffee. She said her chicken wings were delicious. Spicy but not too spicy. She said the mashed potatoes weren’t the best. They were a little too milky, not thick enough. As for the atmosphere of the restaurant the music was nice but it was a little loud. The staff was friendly and courteous. They gave her a take out container but no bag to put it in and didn’t pack the food. The restaurant was clean. It seemed to take a long time for the food to arrive so I would say service is slow.

+ — Sunny environment, driving by, it looks like the cool place to be — It’s cool that the chef came out and asked how I enjoyed the meal, both times I went. I lied though — I enjoyed the truffle fries — Food presentation is amazing -/+ — I gave this place two chances, one for dinner and brunch, both have failed me — I cam for brunch bc this place was completely empty on a Saturday afternoon at 1pm, which is a bad sign. It continued to be empty for the duration of my meal - (Brunch) — extra side of potatoes were cold, and you get an awfully small amount for $ 6 — fried chicken wasn’t done. It was type red on the inside — the carrot cake waffle(although good idea in spirit) tasted quite rubbery (Dinner) — burger meat is incredibly salty — The bun did not complement the burger, it was too big and too soft for the meat — the ‘hand cut’ fried were obviously form a bag, probably krasdale

I’ve passed by Taste Of Brooklyn several times during my fitness walks/runs and their featured Carrot Cake Waffles advertised was constantly enticing me. I finally got a chance to dine in for Brunch on Sunday 11÷15÷15 with my husband and wanted to see how tasty my experience would be. We ordered Steak & Eggs with Gouda Cheese, French Toast with a side of bacon and of course Chicken & Carrot Cake Waffles. Our beverage of choice: Unlimited Mimosas. Here’s my review of my Meal. The Waffles & Special Syrup were amazing. I immediately assumed it had bourbon in it but I believe the secret ingredient in the syrup was whiskey. Yum! The chicken was fried perfectly but once I bit into the chicken it was Extremely bland. I’m not a fan of salt but I love my chicken well seasoned and it was not. I didn’t complain, hot sauce was on the table so I applied a generous amount to please my palette. The flank steak was not as tough as mentioned in other reviews but it was not as tender as I hoped it would be. The steak wasn’t seasoned either but the balsamic dressing that was on the field greens added much needed flavor so I mixed it in. A steak knife would have been helpful but I used what was presented before me. The French toast was very Tasty. The cinnamon, vanilla and almonds infused on the French toast was Very different but an added special touch that you won’t find everywhere which makes it Unique. It was a bit much for my husband. He thought it took away from ideal«French Toast» but the special syrup made up for it. He loves whiskey. LOL Besides, great music was being played, I enjoyed my view of the aquarium our server Lisa was an Absolute delight, the staff was friendly and hospitable & the Mimosas were flowing. Will I visit again? Definitely! I’m looking forward to tasting their lunch and dinner menu not to mention other featured cocktails. Sorry for the lengthy review. I’m a Brooklyn Girl and I Love to frequent Brooklyn establishments.

I’ve walked past this place a few times but decided to walk in this time. It was brunch time so I knew my choices would be limited but I was too hungry to be picky. The décor was cute for a neighborhood spot. The first PRO is that the bartender is a cutie! Eye candy is always important! I was greeted and given a menu which I ordered a steak n eggs with gouda cheese to go. 20 min wait. So I grabbed a Blue Moon from tap and waited patiently. The beer was nice and cold and the bar clean as the board of health. Now lets talk FOOD… I was very disappointed. Although my eggs were nice and fluffy and yummy my steak was like trying to slice and chew a tire. And although I always appreciate seasoning on my food the seasoning on my steak was too heavy and salty. It looked like a piece of flank steak that had been beaten beyond recognition and cooked to death twice over! I try hard to support my neighborhood spots. So I may give this a second try… one day. But for right now I’m going to have to pass on this place. I don’t know what part of Brooklyn I tasted today.

Chicken and ‘carrot cake’ waffles are on some next level shiit. Caprese salad was delicious. Grapefruit beer a wonder. Lots of personality shining through, from the old new york maps on their menus to the oversized fishtank stocked with gorgeous clown fish. Taste of Brooklyn has a sense of humor and style, with great tasting classic dishes and a lovely staff. Minus a star for being a bit pricey, although maybe I’m just a bit cheap. Will return.

Sending my love to the happy hour specials and great atmosphere. Passed this place with all sorts of anticipation before it opened. Delivered and then some. Great place to hit after work. Fish are a major plus. RIP Rickie. Hope you’re kicking it up there

Soft opening this weekend. It’ll be officially open by the 31st. Great selection of beer. A small bar menu for now. They’ll expand to a larger menu soon.
