Worst horseback riding experience ever. Staff was unfriendly and condescending. Next time will do some research, there are plenty of other stables around. I notice I am not the only one who experienced rude staff.

The staff was rude and condescending! The lady questioned my weight(I’m 5’7″, curvy like Kim K). Yet, she failed to see that the girls that work on her farm were 5’2″ weighing 250lbs. She claimed they rode different horses than the ones used for trail rides. I just can’t believe she was that rude! This farm only has horses that can manage 200lbs while other stables in Connecticut offer trail rides with horses that can manage up to 300lbs. So go figure about the type of horses they have. Overall, the trails were nice and scenic, they rode near Holiday Hill. They also let the horses trot which was a nice ride. This is the only reason I gave two stars because if my review was based on customer service alone this place would get thumbs down! They also don’t offer professional riding helmets, the one they gave me was for bike riding. Very lame.

Went with a group of 7 and paid $ 350. It was disappointing. We were told that we would be split into groups of 4 with the least experienced riders walking, the intermediate riders walking and trotting and the most experienced riders walking, trotting and cantering. This did not happen. We were all grouped together along with others that came to ride and we all walked 95% of the time and trotted briefly twice. Some of the staff was rude, critical, and condescending. Mostly it was boring. I’ve had some fun rides over the years but this place was not one of them. Look around for a better place, or go find a carousal, the experience is about the same.

What a GREAT time! My friend and I made a reservation a week in advance for a Sunday ride, we weren’t disappointed. Once we arrived they matched a horse to our ability and all the riders for that time slot got instruction and direction while riding their horse in a circle in an enclosure. Once we all felt we were good to go we got out on the trails. Much of the time we were in very wooded forest, which was pretty and fun to navigate. When we got to open fields the guides were clear with their instructions and we all got to trot and later, canter. It was a very enjoyable experience and I recommend this stable to anyone looking for a beautiful ride through the Connecticut landscape. It’s newbie and kid friendly too!
