I dont care where you live or how long it takes to get here, but youre going to come, and youre going to bring money. In the back of the shop, in a case on the right hand side is a beef tenderloin. Yes, its $ 29/lb but trust me on this. Buy what you can afford, bring it home and let it rest at room temperature for an hour. Season it with salt and pepper, and then slather it in a mixture of softened butter and stone ground mustard. After 40 minutes in a 350 degree oven(and 15 min to rest afterward), take a nice sharp knife and cut yourself a piece. Let this dreamy, silken piece melt in your mouth as the angels weep for you since they know you will never eat anything as marvelous ever again for as long as you live. Well, at least until you make the trip back over there for more beef tenderloin. It is that good. I wish I was kidding.

Nope. The meats are great, the sandwiches off the grill are also good. The woman behind the counter exhibits an awful attitude. I’ve been going for years and have never seen her smile or be friendly. Yesterday I decided, no more. I will no longer spend my money at a place where the service person acts like its a tedious chore and interruption of her day to sell me something. Sorry Jimmy, cause your food is good.

I stopped in the other day just to pick up some bourbon glazed salmon that my family had fallen in love with when I was away and was met with fantastic service! As soon as I walked in I was met with absolutely amazing and friendly service. All of their side dishes are homemade right in the shop, each one looks delicious. The salmon I picked up? Oh yeah, that’s just about the best salmon I’ve ever had. Thank you again for such kind service and wonderful food, you’ve made one loyal customer.

Some of the best smoked pulled pork bbq I’ve ever had. Potato salad was great and all their other sides looked homemade and delicious. Great place to stop by and pick up lunch. Also had a great selection of meats, sauces and other extras. Can’t wait to go back.

The best butcher in the greater Louisville area. Need something special? No worries Jimmy can help you. Butcher’s Best meat is sourced from local suppliers and the taste is incredible. As far as the Blue Dog bread, they have it next door at the Party Store, Grab a couple of world class steaks from Butcher’s Best, a bottle of Kentucky bourbon and Blue Dog bread next door and dinner is on.

I sorta fall madly in love with ANY joint that has a grill goin’ in the parking lot first thing in the morning. AWESOME staff, super friendly and helpful, really nice people who are happy to see you come in. They have a great meat selection and various deli items, sauces, some condiments and brines. Fantastic pulled pork sandwiches to go, huge and cheap, they also do burgers on the grill. I only wish they carried Blue Dog bread and some other dinner type items, it would be the perfect one stop shop for grabbing meat to grill at home.
