Johnny Brusco’s Pizza

BEST NY style pizza in Louisville. Service was outstanding on a busy Friday. Our party of 4 had a great time. We are talking about when we will be going back.
Be sure to try the Garlic Knots too!!!

We there on a Saturday afternoon about 2:30. Only 3 other patrons in the restaurant which had already had food. We ordered a large pizza. The. We waited 45 min to get it. Once we got it the bottom was burnt almost all black.
We have ate there many times in the past and it has been good. It seams now they have a bunch of teenagers running the place.
We will not be back.

New ownership has work to do to keep pace with the quality in NC. The service time is really poor as it seems they are always under staffed. The one consistent good thing was the wings but it looks like a new vendor/​supplier is being used as they are large and fatty. Definitely a step down to the point of poor at best. Won’t be going back anytime soon and hope some additional changes are in mind beyond the new bar.

The only reason I come here is because I live literally 2 minutes away. Sub par food and sub par service overall. I do enjoy their outdoor seating, however. In general, if you don’t live in the Commons I highly recommend you go elsewhere.

This was my favorite place! The pizza and knots were awesome! The beer was reasonably priced. We have been disappointed with the new ownership. The knots have changed, less cheese and smaller. The beer has become outrageous for the specialty drafts. We will keep going back because overall the food is still good and we love the staff. We have just been bummed about the food changes. The design changes have been good however! Love the chalk board writing :) Get the sliced meatballs on your pizza. So yum!

My family loves coming here. The server we had was awesome and now that the patio has the tvs we will be stopping by to watch march madness.

Love the bartenders here. Service is always great; food is very good for a pizza place. Highly recommend.

Just tried to flag down a waiter for 15 – 20 minutes so that I could get silverware for my salad and no-​one showed up. Staff is not attentive at all. Don’t know what has happened over the years but it is no longer a pleasant experience.

If we had stuck to just pizza and had a different server, this review would probably be much better. However, in addition to a really good pizza, we ordered the fried pickles which should be removed from the menu. They are really bad and I love fried pickles. Since we had a child with our party, we also ordered the mac and cheese. The child felt deceived. It’s really just penne pasta with some white cheese (Mozzarella maybe) sprinkled on top. No mac as in the macaroni kids expect and no gooey cheesy sauce. Our service was terrible and not because our server was too busy. When we arrived for lunch, there was only one other table occupied. We had to ask each time for drink refills and then there was a long wait. She wasn’t familiar with the ingredients in the menu items and didn’t seem interested enough to ask anyone. We thought we made it easy on her by asking her to just split the check 3 ways (3 couples in our party of 6) but she got it so wrong that one couple was charged way more than their share. In summary, there are too many other pizza places in town to go through this again.

Hard to beat being able to walk up to a pizza joint in the neighborhood. Order a full pizza sometimes the pizza by the slice is not the best. Good specials on beer. If you are in Norton Commons definitely a great place to check out. I usually go for the Bronx Bomber

Johnny Brusco’s is an asset to the neighborhood. The food is very good and the service is friendly and efficient.

Pretty good pizza joint service was very good and the place is clean. I would say the pizza is average type thick crust, not my favorite type of crust to much dough. But the sitting outside was very nice and they had several beers on tap that were cold.
To sum it it it and ok average pizza joint in a very nice part of town

Pizza is thin and not flavorful. Sauce is bland and watery. Service is slooow. Beer options are lacking. I wish we would have driven to Westport Village and ate at Tony Boombozz — they have a larger selection of specialty pizzas and a much better beer selection.

Best pizza I’ve had in a while! Love love love, was a little sad they didn’t have pizza by the slice on Saturday due to them being busy but it was well worth getting the whole pie. So delicious– I will definitely be back!
Garlic minis were also delicious, husband has also a calzone there and loved it too.

Usually very good pizza. Eating there seems Better than the delivery but still is very good. I would like to see something on menu that was a more exotic Pizza as I believe the very upscale neighborhood would support such exotics such as sausage, fennel and shiitake mushrooms with buffalo mozzarella and heirloom tomato just to mention a few. Goat cheese or smoked Gouda would also be nice with pancetta and artichoke heart. Overall excellent for quality

Edible but nothing special. Need to work on both sauce and crust. It’s not truly New York style either. More like hand tossed. Kudos for offering it by the slice though. Draft selection isn’t so great either.

We’ve been here several times had great service. If today was my first visit, I would never be back!

Excellent pizza! Thinish crust (I could just sit and eat the crust) with a yummy sauce and any of the toppings we’ve had are outstanding. Service was fantastic would come back in a heartbeat! Only downside would be ordered the macaroni and cheese and it wasn’t that. It was pasta with some mozzarella on it which was a little disappointing. But it was still yummy.

The tagline on this pizza place is NY Style Pizza.
True NY Style pizza is a thin crust, paper thin crust. You can even fold a slice in half. Outside of NY, this delicacy is hard to find. The crust is never thin enough.
Johnny Brusco’s is a decent pizza. It is a decent combination of sauce, cheese, toppings. The garlic knots are delicious. The pizza crust, however, is not NY style. The crust is thick and very doughy. This is not the paper thin crust of true NY Style. So the tagline is not accurate if you are a are looking for NY Style.
