This is a small local coffee shop and it’s really hard to rate it: I’m glad Newberry has a coffeehouse now, for sure, but it seems to be a bit lacking in some regards. The staff are very very nice. Very welcoming, very friendly. I’ll say that first off. The space is. .. ok. It was a hair salon before its current use and it’s a slightly plain and awkward space and also not right downtown but by its lonesome somewhat – easier to drive than walk to, as well. With all the charming old buildings downtown and several vacant retail units, seems an opportunity was lost in putting a coffeehouse here instead. The coffee is fine, but their menu seems an effort to copy some Starbucks standards and meet normal expectations without really being innovative. Their baked goods are few in variety and appear all to be store-bought, probably from Sam’s Club or the like. And a Christian(as in CCM) radio station normally is playing which is fine for me(raised on Sandi Patty and Carman, so hey!) but may weird some people out. But if you’re weirded out by CCM, you probably shouldn’t hang around Newberry, anyways. I guess I rate The Blend three and a half stars; I realize it’s in a smaller community and don’t want to sound snooty or compare it to Curia or Know Where, but no, it doesn’t compare to either of the above and it has some room to grow before it can really compare to Starbucks, either.

I’m happy there is no Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks close by because this little shop is a dime a dozen. Stop by if you’re traveling through and try anything you won’t be disappointed

I love this little coffee shop, and the staff is amazing. There was one time that the guy behind the counter saw my vehicle pull into the parking lot and he had my order ready by the time I walked inside. I highly recommend this place, and if you are in Newberry stop and see them.

Coffee shops are a dime a dozen nowadays, so what sets The Blend apart? Well it’s simple Quality beans, exceptional service, fair prices, and a comfortable homey environment. I usually get the Iced Caramel Macchiato and it surpasses Stabucks by leaps and bounds. My wife has less of a «regular» drink and tends to try something new more regularly than I. Also, all the profits go towards missions projects… talk about«coffee with a cause»! That said, everything we’ve had has been superb. Kudos to Joey, Austin, Tristan and everyone else involved with this glimmer of light in our small town.

The Blend is great! Such good coffee and the service is always good. It is right around the corner from where we stay, so we wind up going pretty often. They have pastries in a little case too, sometimes they look really good. I’ve never had a bad experience at the Blend. The couches are pretty comfy and the place has a nice vibe.

There seems to be a Starbucks on every corner these days, but stopping at a local coffee shop reminds me that bigger isn’t always better. Great coffees and baked goods from a local bakery instead of food trucked in frozen tastes better and costs less. And with profits supporting good works, you can’t go wrong becoming a regular here.
