Bin 312

Something about this place just doesn’t click for me. I get that they have a decent wine selection but it’s sooooo small and their prices are pretty crazy. If you’re in the market for a cool or funky beer you can pretty much forget about it here. Have to say the owner is a pretty nice guy and I wish I could say his passion translated to some of the other people I’ve dealt with in there. The tastings are really nice, but again, it’s so tiny in here that you feel like you’re standing in an elevator with a bunch of people trying to avoid knocking things over. So overall, pretty good wine selection but nothing you can’t get down the road in any direction at a better price and with some breathing room.

A great wine store. Staff seems to be very knowledgable about wines and willing to help. They have tastings on Thursdays. Pours are pretty solid too, so you can have more than one sip of each (sometimes that’s necessary to figure out a wine, really!). The wines available are a good representation of all the great terroirs of the world; even some harder-​to-​find bottles.
There are also beer and spirits here too. However, I think it should be noted that this isn’t what Bin 312 is focusing on and the selection is a bit limited here. Also wish they had more ciders (such as French, Spanish, and English ones).

This was truly quite a pleasant surprise, both in selection and price of the liquor/​wine. When we first entered, we were welcomed immediately by a very friendly staff who gave us a mini tour of the establishment; the liquor store was organized based on both type and costs of the alcoholic beverages, which made purchasing so much more convenient. She even let us try some of the very popular wine that was advertised for the earlier tasting sessions. My only disappointment is after I was completely hooked on that wine, she told me that they were out of stock. That being said, I was able to buy a similar bottle of wine that my friends enjoyed and I ended up getting a nice bottle of bourban-​infused beer. I thought the overall price was reasonable, especially since it was on Main street and I’d return if I’m ever around the area.

Looking at the ratings, I see 5-​star review after 5-​star review. I’m like totally on board! We stopped by for a bottle of moscato and received a warm welcome. Although we arrived too late for the day’s tasting, we were invited to sample what was left in the open bottles. The owner is clearly passionate about wine and can tell you a story about each bottle that he stocks. If I lived in Providence, I’d obviously be a regular. I signed up for Bin 312’s wine club, which means that I’ll get regular email messages about specials and events and that will receive a $ 10 discount when my purchases reach $ 200.

I heart Bin 312. From the free Thursday tastings (snacks included!) to the fact they record all my purchases so when I can’t quite remember that tasty red I bought 2 months ago they do. They are super knowledgeable and can recommend anything in your budget– from something you are going to cook with to a bottle that needs to impress. The 10% discount when you buy a case means basically buy 11 get one free! What a deal! Most bottles are priced around $ 20 but they are happy to work in your price range. And don’t look at you funny if you want a case of reds averaging $ 15 a bottle. They also have a good selection of craft beer and whites under $ 20 can usually be purchased chilled! Some hard liquor too just in case you need some tequila to round out your purchase.

This is the only place to buy wine in Providence. Period.
The selection is incredible and the extremely knowledgable staff is always willing to help. The wine tastings every Thursday are a lot of fun as well and are a great way to engage in the Providence community.
The owner is the nicest guy you’ll meet in Providence. Professional, kind, helpful, and funny, I always enjoy interacting with him, as well as his two other awesome employees I’ve met.
Note, if you’re a beer person, the selection is slim but honestly they have every kind of beer you would need except the Wachusett blueberry ale (hint hint). Selection of spirits is also smaller than most but Bin is a wine cellar and built for the person who loves wine. I’ve never purchased a bad wine from this store. ⁵⁄₅ I cannot praise Bin enough!

Everything is overpriced above the msrp. The only thing discounted were two expired 6packs. The owner intentionally pretended he had no knowledge of this fact until I asked him and he gave evasive answers. I was going to buy them until I actually checked the expiration date to make sure. Then he said I should go two streets down to a cheaper shop because he carries «only good stuff.»

Tony cares deeply about his beautiful shop, and he cares just as much about pairing you with the wine you seek. Great customer care, great wines.

Wonderful people who work at/​own and manage this store. Great selection. Wonderful ambiance. Wine and food pairing tastings one or two times each week are enjoyable. I frequent this store and you should too!

4 months later and I’m even more in love with this place!!! If you haven’t been yet, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

My favorite wine shop and boutique liquor store, hands down! The store is beautifully laid out and always immaculate.
One of my favorite points about this shop is the time and effort that they take to put out the descriptions of various wines that you’ve probably never heard of. This is the place to get out of your comfort zone, get away from the «supermarket brands» and try something different… You won’t regret it! If you’re feeling overwhelmed and indecisive, just ask the shop owner, Tony, for his suggestions… He’ll never steer you wrong.
Although they have a large selection of higher priced wines, I’ve yet to find a shop with as many high-​quality, under $ 20 wines as Bin 312 offers.
I would give this shop 6 stars if I could, which is why I travel from North Providence just to pick up that exceptional bottle of Vino! Well done Bin 312!

A boutique wine /​beer /​liquor store in Providence with not only a diverse selection to choose from but also great prices… you better believe it! Whenever I’m down around the area and in need of some craft beer or a good bottle of wine, Bin 312 has become my go to shop.
The owners of this place are so incredibly friendly and keep the shelves stocked with a great variety of wines but also feature an impressive offering of craft beers and hard alcohol as well. They are quite knowledgeable and are always willing to point out different options depending on what you are looking for /​like. Also, the fact that they sell products that they have personally tried and approved of based on the quality shows they are very passionate about providing the best selection to their customers.
Not only is the selection great, the prices are very reasonable here. You can walk out with a nice bottle of wine and a bomber bottle or 6 pack of beer and don’t have to feel like you are breaking the bank. And on top of that every Thursday there are free wine tastings where they have atleast 3 or 4 different bottles for customers to sample.
Great variety, good prices, and free weekly wine tastings? Look no further because Bin 312 has you covered.

Seriously great wine shop. With two owners whose unofficial slogan is «we don’t stock anything we wouldn’t want to drink ourselves» you’re in great hands. Attentive service, great suggestions based on the occasion/​meal, and free wine tastings every Thursday night from 5 – 8. Does it get any better?
Yeah, it does. They also stock craft beer and higher end liquor. I know, you probably think that it’s going to be expensive because of the beautifully designed interior and amazing variety but it surprisingly isn’t at all. You can find a truly great bottle for $ 15-​$ 20 no sweat.
This is the perfect shop whether you’re looking for a bottle to enjoy in your pj’s that night or a wine that is sure to impress your picky in-​laws.

What a great shop. Tony was very helpful and I found some very reasonably priced buys including an excellent Malbec.
One of the things I particularly enjoyed about this shop was the excellent organization of the store. I forgot to ask the exact methodology but the wall is organized by price with the center full of lower mid range. White to deeper reds. I think. It made sense intuitively I loved it!
A rewards program and fabulous selection will certainly keep me coming back.

This place is cozy and elegant. From the sign outside that listed bread, milk, and wine as the necessities for the impending winter storm to the store owner that greeted me once I walked in, this place is warm and welcoming. The owner gave me a 90 second tour of the place.
The store is broken down by white wines in the front and reds in the back and then even further by body (light bodied wines in the front of each section and heavy bodied wines in the back of each section). Everything is clearly labeled, and although they don’t list what food pairings or tasting notes on the labels (like Bottles does in Providence), I am sure the owner/​employee would be more than willing to give suggestions.
Over 80 of the wines are less than 20 dollars and each wine has been tasted by the owner (Geez! I want that job!), so all of the wines are affordable but of high quality (aka something you won’t be embarrassed to bring to a dinner party). They even have at least one of every bottle chilled (if it is meant to be served chilled) so that if you are grabbing wine for dinner tonight, it is ready to drink!
They also carry a good selection of beer and spirits. They have free tastings on Thursday evenings from 5−8PM, which I will make sure to check out soon!

This is a great boutique wine and liquor store in S Main. Cozy and quaint, friendly and warm. As you walk in, the wines in the center of the store are affordable and delicious… from about $ 8-​$ 20 a bottle. Whites are near the front, reds are near the back. As you walk deeper into the store, the wine choices go from light to more robust.
The wines on the right wall are more distinctive — including sparkling wine choices and reserves. Wonderful tastings happen on Thursday nights where food pairings can include nice cuts of roasted meats or beautiful cheeses. The tastings can be of wine, beer or spirits.
The store has a good selection of beers (mainstream and specialty) as well as spirits.
Tony is one of the owners and his knowledge of what he has in his store is outstanding. Some of you remember the Unilocal event we had here a few months ago… Tony and John were extremely helpful and the staff was superb pouring and helping with questions.

Who could ask for anything more?
*Cozy, cave-​like interior with exposed brick
*Free tastings on Thursdays and Saturdays.
*Owners that clearly (from smiles to knowledge) have a passion for libations
*Customer service that rivals Gracies. They carried my basked around the store and offered to put my investment in the car!
*Generosity beyond belief (they sent me with a wine bucket to my BYOB restaurant) — with a good faith promise to return.
They promised not to forget my face, and I promises to return: both the bucket and for more yummy drinks!

So many have said it before I have — I wish to echo the sentiments: This new wine shop is charming, very intentionally laid-​out, and operated by two cool guys (John & Tony).
The wine is organized by the body of the wine — lighter to more bold — first by whites at the front of the store and then by reds as you go into the back of the store. The majority of the bottles (something like 80%) are ‘every day drinking wines” priced at $ 25 or less. Then the sidebar has more options for the collector or aficionado (and that, frankly, will not be priced as every day wine is – but they are transparent about that).
Tony and John are two men that are retired from their first careers and that happen to love wine (and cooking). They are wonderful at thinking about pairing the wine that you are buying with whatever it will be enjoyed with, be it a meal, a dessert, or simply for sipping. They both love wine and, clearly, are loving this shop and the opportunity to share their experience and love of wine.
For those looking for liquor, there is a small selection.
For those looking for beer, there’s both a craft beer selection and a every-​day selection.
Prices are totally reasonable. And they offer tastings every Thursday evening from 6−8pm.
I just love this spot and I know that I will be back again and again.

I love wine. I love great, reasonably priced wine. I love Bin 312. This place is a gem.
Where to start?
The unique indexing of their wines… Genius! Fruity to Dry — Light to Bold. Why did no one think of this before?
They can log all your purchases (if you wish) so if you forget which delicious white you bought last time, you are not forced to say such things as «It was a green bottle with a funky logo». Totally fantastic feature which I took full advantage of over Thanksgiving.
Prices? Oh my! — Really, all these wines at under $ 20, and a HUGE selection in the $ 10-​$ 15 range?
I admit that I do like ENO, I think their store is very nice looking and they do have a nice selection, but their price points don’t always align with my budget. Bin 312 is a perfect pairing of presentation and selection.
What they now need is a FB page — even if all they did was break down their monthly e-​mail and post parts of that weekly.

My new favorite wine store in Providence? Absolutely, 100% YES!
Bin 312 is fantastic — it’s a beautiful, old space updated with all the bells and whistles to make it an ideal shop in the old section of town. I had the pleasure of meeting the two owners, Tony and John, and got the full tour and break down of the shop and their philosophy.
Everything in Bin 312 has been tasted and approved by these two gents, and everything is priced very reasonably — a large portion of the wines are under $ 20, and they’re all promised to be quality, delicious selections. I saw several bottles that I’ve tried myself, and was impressed with the price point and variety.
The bottles are also organized in a thoughtful way — from the most delicate to the boldest, left to right, in terms of flavor. Very clever, indeed. Each bottle is displayed with a description and the origin, and everything is pristinely clean.
They’ve also got a small collection of spirits and craft beers, each hand-​selected and of excellent quality. They also have a very smart rewards program that’s totally free — they track your purchases, and once you’ve reached a full case (no matter how many bottles you purchase at a time), they’ll email you and give you a percentage off of your next purchase. Sweet!
