I wish this store were closer to me. I love it. The items are all carefully chosen and curated. My first experience was over the telephone. It was courteous, informative and helpful. Subsequent interactions have been great, as well. I found what I wanted. I love it btw. Great selection of amazing labels. I always look forward to new Insta posts because the clothes are sooo insanely cute.

Great selection of casual, upscale, well made clothes. Product is well organized in a relatively small store. I’ve purchased some absolutely beautiful sweaters, tops and dresses here. The types of pieces that get complements and wear well.

Capucine is a women’s clothing boutique at 359 So. Main St., Providence. I am writing this review solely as a warning to others so that you won’t have to go through what I did after a recent visit. The owner was(overly) solicitous and a little pushy with trying to get me to buy expensive clothes. That was ok though as she was helpful; I purchased a top and some capris. I loved the top but was iffy on the capris. When I got home and realized that I had something very similar, I returned to the store within 24 hours with my receipts and the capris with the tag still on them. I was told that I could only get a store credit! Let’s remember that we are talking very pricey clothes($ 125 for capris that were nothing special — what was I thinking?!). There were no signs posted ANYWHERE in the store to alert customers to the store’s return policy. The owner was quite nasty and told me that the receipt had the policy printed on it. I let her know how unhappy I was as having a couple of lines on the bottom of a receipt which I only would be able to see AFTER I had made the purchase did not fulfill in any way, shape or form, as a notice to customers that there was no money back/only a store credit. After I told her repeatedly that I thought she was bamboozling people and that I thought she was breaking the law, she finally relented and gave me my money back. I went on to RI’s Dept of Business Regulation web site and showed her that the law requires retailers to post their return policy plainly for the public to see on their door, at the point of sale or at the register. She had done none of those things(and I have the photo to prove it). I told her she had not done me any favor by returning my money — she had simply done what the law required of her since she had not posted her policy as required by state law. So buyer beware with Capucine. This business owner is NOT out to make her customers happy. I will not be returning to her store.
