Ello Pretty

I discovered this place today while looking for a salon close enough to work to pop in on my lunch break. Not only were they able to accommodate me on incredibly short notice, I was there, washed and blow dried perfectly and back at work in less than 45 mins. I was thrilled.
Casey was my stylist and, as I mentioned, did a perfect job. She and the other ladies were very welcoming and friendly. The salon itself is beautiful — a wide open loft space with tons of huge windows letting in natural light. I will definitely be back.

Okay this is long overdue since I got bogged down by school work, but I put this on my to-​do list because of how much I love this place and the people who work here. I have 3B curly Middle Eastern hair that most salons do not know how to straighten (I usually always leave with a poofy mess) but Nic did the most amazing job that I got so many compliments from everyone when I left. Also, her and Jessica are legit awesome people who I would want to be friends with — they are just that welcoming and nice to be around. I can’t say enough good things about this place!!!

Great atmosphere, great service. Everyone was super welcoming and most importantly Casey did an amazing job on my purple ombré! She was careful to make sure she understood exactly what I wanted and persevered through several hours of work to make the cut, color, & style came out perfect. I would definitely recommend this salon.

I think I’ve found my new spot — Casey is awesome! They use Goldwell color (the best) and their staff is extremely welcoming and awesome at what they do. She fixed a bad coloring job with some all-​over «hair painting» techniques of my natural ash brown and pale blonde (an ombré look) then touched up my cut with some texturizing and completely gave my haircut a great new look. A beautiful and very clean salon with an adorable boutique-​style décor. Reasonable prices all around. I am so beyond pleased with my new find!

I have been going to this salon since we moved here in May ’15. When I started the journey, I told Nikki that I wanted an Ombré White Blonde which later turned into a Balayage of sorts and progressed from there. After 6 months she has achieved the most beautiful crystals clear blonde with hints of platinum & pink from almost jet black hair! I could not me more pleased with the ladies at Ello Pretty (so much so that they also cut my husband’s and 2 small children’s hair). These ladies truly go above and beyond for their clients and I would recommend them to everyone!

I have been dying to find a salon that was closer to where I lived. I was tired of going to salons where they would over charge you for something you didn’t even want. I discovered Ello Pretty through social media and it was the perfect choice! I had noticed their awesome marketing via Instagram from a wedding I worked and could tell from the brides/​bridesmaids hair that they knew all the new hair trends and I simply loved all their work. When I emailed the salon with pictures of what I wanted, they were certain they could do it and gave me a reasonable price. Nicole was my stylist: she was lovely, warm, and welcoming. Jessica was also– she helped Nicole when needed and also engaged in much conversation with me. When my hair was finished, I realized I did not like the color PERSONALLY on me even though it was still really pretty! Although I might have been a PAIN, I called to ask if I could come back in to try something different. The salon was more than happy to book me back in and lighten the blonde. The adjustment was perfect, with no charge!!! The workers there treat you like a close friend and have normal conversations with you rather than just forced professional talk. Will definitely be back!

Long Overdue Review… DISCLAIMER: I am not a regular salon-​goer, so I don’t have much to compare this to.
I got my hair cut and styled for $ 10 by a family member for 5+ years. I would get a haircut, watch some TV, and just lounge around their house with free food! Then, one day in January, I went to Miami, chopped my very long hair into the cutest pixie, and was searching for a place to maintain my hair in Providence.
After failed attempts at 2 other salons, I found Ello Pretty! Just a little ways away from my house, it’s a loft turned luxe, full of women that love what they do! My favorite part is not the complementary coffee/​water/​tea, or how I look when I leave, but the Craftsman drawers the stylists use for their hair tools! So cute, so hip. Décor is chic and cool, but not pretentious! (I can’t stand places where you feel like you can’t breathe!)
Nikki is my stylist and she knows her stuff. Lingo and everything! Plus, she makes my pixie look GREAT every damn time. But, that doesn’t stop the other ladies from greeting me, chatting with me, or coming over to see how my haircut is going. It’s like a social gathering every time I get my haircut! They are so welcoming.
These are women that genuinely want to make you look+feel great and have the knowledge to do so.
Even though I’m paying more than $ 10 for my haircut, can’t lounge in my PJ’s, and there isn’t free food… I still think it’s totally worth it! :)

I simply cannot say enough good things about Ello Pretty. Throughout my entire life I’ve been to a salon maybe 5 times. I have very long hair and often fear losing length when looking for a simple trim. These ladies immediately put me at ease. Nicole is very patient and there’s zero judgement when you need clarification. During my first visit Nichole gave me a beautiful layered cut and felt leaving like a million bucks. A few weeks later I returned for some highlights I had wanted for years but never had the nerve to get. She spent the extra time to ensure everything was perfect. I have never been this thrilled with my hair in my entire life. The color is stunning and cut is the best I’ve ever had! Highlights: long hair friendly, awesome friendly staff, super creative colors and amazing cuts, professionalism, a honest, perfectionist approach and prices that are incredibly fair! The girls at Ello Pretty are the best around. After a year of searching for a new hairstylist and after I had 3 awful experiences in a row, I am so grateful to have found Nicole. One of my friends, whom I was maid of honor for, hired Nicole to do our make up for her wedding. She made us look stunning! Nicole was so friendly and knowledgeable that I knew I had to have her do my hair. I am beyond happy with my experience at Ello Pretty. The whole staff makes you feel welcome and beautiful from the second you walk through the door.

I have been searching for a good salon forever! Found it! I discovered this salon through Unilocal,and I’m glad I did! I had a cut and color with Jessica and she did an awesome job! Finally, someone I can rely on! I was so happy that I booked an up do and makeup session for an upcoming wedding. I can’t wait! The salon is very cool and clean. Jessica and Nicole are so friendly, I felt like I was a valued customer immediately! Will repost after wedding session to let you know how the make up session went! I also received free samples of hair care products to try… nice touch.

Made a last minute appointment for a blow-​dry and I definitely ended up finding my new hair stylist! Jess was amazing and so fun to chat with. She did my hair exactly how I wanted it and I don’t think anyone else could top the blow-​out she gave me. It lasted for FOUR days! Bought an awesome hair spray from her as well since I was running low and booked my next appointment as well on the spot. Great little hidden gem!

Certainly the best repeated hair salon experience I’ve had. I even really liked my last stylist, who moved to Hawai’i, and Nicole and Jessica run an even better ship.
I got a BIG haircut here my first visit – 10−12 inches. Nicole spent 15 – 20 mins with me before ever cutting a hair. She went above and beyond by helping cut it so I could sell the hair, teaching me how to use different products to style my new ‘do, and by taking pictures so I could show my best friend. Plus, the #1 most important part – my haircuts here (3 and counting) have been exceptional. Nicole clearly knows her subject matter, and with Jessica running the salon at a very courteous level, this place is THE place to get your hair cut.
I’ve referred 5 people here, and they are all regulars now (including two men).
Plus, $ 40 for women’s cut and style/​$ 25 for men. Can’t beat it.

What a wonderful place! I can’t say enough good things about it. I was welcomed so warmly by Jessica, the owner and stylist Nicole. This was my first (but certainly not my last) visit to the salon and Jessica spent extended time in the consultation helping me figure out exactly what I wanted.
I was treated like a queen for the 2 ½ hours I was there and I am thrilled with my cut, color, and eyebrow tint. Plus I was blown away by how reasonable priced the services are.
Give yourself a treat and visit this fantastic place!

So I took a chance, and Let me tell you ! Nicole did my hair and i was completely happy with it ! Best salon I’ve been too in a long while !!! I say that with the fact that i have very thin damaged dominican hair thats very curly yet some how she worked her magic on to my hair its so beautiful and feels like its not even my hair, I havent been this happy with my hair in such a long time ! Literally almost cried :’) and the ladys are the nicest, funniest hairdressers ever I’d recommend to everybody!

I’ve been on the hunt for an excellent salon for a couple weeks now and I’m happy to say that I’ve accomplished exactly that. After reading such great reviews on here, I decided to make an appointment. Yesterday I went in to Ello Pretty in order to have my hair cut and colored. Best salon experience of my life! Jessica and Nicole were so nice and the salon looked gorgeous! Nicole gave me the best hair cut of my life and I will no longer go to another salon in order to get my hair done. Ello Pretty is definitely one of the best salons in RI and if the five stars don’t give away, then I don’t know what does! I definitely recommend it!

As a newbie to Providence, I happened to drive by Ello Pretty, thought it was cute, and decided to hit up Unilocal before making an appointment. Since both stylists had rave reviews, I chose Jessica because well, we have the same name: D
I’m sure Nicole would have done a great job as well, but Jessica was awesome! First off, my hair is just a tad high maintenance; it’s long, thick, and a lil wavy: a stylist’s nightmare. First, Jess washed, brushed it out, and cut it. Then, after a thorough blow dry (with the thickest hair on earth, this took almost an hour), she went layer by layer and thinned out my hair and then, put some long layers in it to lighten it up even more! It felt AMAZING! She insisted on finishing it up with a flat iron, and it laid perfectly.
After two grueling hours of work, my hair was beautiful! And it takes me about ½ the time it used to do it in the morning! I love, love, love it! Not only did I get a fabulous hair cut, as a new Providence resident, she told me all the best places to go for dinner, coffee, and even local produce! Jessica, can we be best friends!?! lol
All of this for… $ 40… Are you kidding me!?! Best deal in town! I will definitely be paying this place regular visits.

Nothing but great things can be said. Not only are they a great salon but they make you feel right at home which at a lot of places you don’t get the same welcoming feeling as you do when you step inside Ello Pretty. I went in with the intentions in getting a new cut/​color to give my hair life. They did exactly that and more. Two incredible people and I am so happy that I had the opportunity to have met them, they are so talented and skilled in what they do. I could really see that they a passion for it! I love this salon, great addition to Providence.

Jessica and Nicole are very talented stylists. They are not only hip, they are also kind, sweet and attentive. They took the time to find pictures and talk to me extensively when I couldn’t describe the hair color I was looking for.
Highly recommend.
