If you’re looking for the cheapest gas in Providence, congratulations, you’ve found it. Between here and the rivaling gas station over on Valley Street, which tends to be a cent or two more or less, Smith Hill is the best place to go for your weekly petroleum fix. Currently, gas stands at $ 2.49(the price advertised is the cash price, credit goes up by five cents). However, on Saturday and Sunday, unleaded gets cut by five cents a gallon. There are also price cuts on plus and premium(I believe these are on Mondays and Wednesdays, respectively). The best thing about this place aside from the low prices is the friendly staff. Although I’m never interacting with them for more than a few seconds at a time, they are always genial and seem to be happy to be there. I often see regulars from the community coming in to chat, and that also brings me back. Finally, the pumps reach to both sides of the car(driver’s and passenger’s). This might not seem like a big deal, but it cuts down on the lines significantly because you can go in any lane no matter the location of your gas tank. Now if I could just remember to put my gas cap back on…

I have used the Auto Care Center over here for years… before it changed name from Gulf to Geko. Perry, the owner and manager of the Auto Center is detailed oriented and fair on his prices and very good on his recommendations and work. Many times he would meet or beat an advertised price to ensure keeping you as a customer. Very good people skills, very friendly and… when you come often… he remembers your name.
