Best place ever !! We were searching for a place for date night and this is located just in heart of the downtown. They have a large bar space offering hell lot of variety offerings. We did not make any reservation but the girls there helped us find one table with the water place view and all together the experience is awesome. Coming to food I loved their Singapore noodles. much on Asian spice and lychee martini is one of its kind .I would strongly recommend this place when in PD.

Went to Jackys for the first time on a Friday night for a special graduation dinner. Beautiful, comfortable décor with most all tables having a terrific view of the Providence skyline. We were a half hour early, and had an extra diner that I had not included in my reservation for 4, but the hostesses were totally welcoming and immediately sat us at a nice table by the window. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious. Nime chow was fresh and bright and sea scallops and rice noodles were beautifully presented on their own individual shells. Steak tips excellent. Portions large. Valet parking was very convenient and quick. Will go to Jackys again and would definitely recommend.

This is the most beautiful and largest sushi bar I have been to. It’s evident that thought was put into the décor. Jaw dropping furnishing and a glass-housed wine cellar are seen when walking in. Traditional Asian lanterns and even chandeliers line the ceilings. A spacious dining area inside with natural light beaming in from the huge glass windows. There’s an eclectic mix of seating, ranging from tables for two along the windows to a private dinner room for a party of ten. Overall, the atmosphere is classy and elegant. You’ll definitely feel like a high roller here. Some tips: Sit outside if you’re going to have drinks. Dinner outside wasn’t bad, but I would have preferred drinks on the patio and have moved inside for the main course. The wind doesn’t help while eating. The saki was decent. In general, it just something you need to try if you haven’t. Food recommendations: Edamame as an appetizer was nothing special. There was quite a bit of salt, but it was served fresh, right from the steamer. Portion was large and easily fed three. Torpedo roll = good North Eastern Tiger = pretty good Volcano = very good Serving size is usually four to five pieces, however they are larger and dense. It will take a while for the bill to arrive. So, plan accordingly if there’s somewhere you’re going afterwards.

The service was very good. They are polite and friendly. I don’t know whether it was just that day or not but sushi fish was not so fresh. One of the fish had bad smell. The manager took it off from our bill apologizing. If you go, get cooked food they seem decent. In overall, I would give this place more more try to see.

Met up with a friend for lunch here yesterday and it was PHENOMENAL. We shared two Mr Mango rolls and one French crunchy roll and they were so fresh, and all of their flavors perfectly balanced. We also had a side order of veggie fried rice(yummy) and a couple Sapporos. We enjoyed the beautiful, classy décor, and our waiter, Andy, was attentive and friendly — and didn’t rush us even though we sat for a while catching up with each other. Neither of us had been here before, but we were both impressed and would definitely go back!

Located in the heart of downtown, Jacky’s Place is a nice restaurant to visit when you’re in the area. It’s near the Providence Mall and the State House, which I recommend visiting. There is valet, which is complimentary with some street parking in the area available. This restaurant seems to be busy both times I have been here, but I managed to get seats right next to the window in the bar area. FOOD: Menu is decent, mix of Asian cuisines. There are items you would find in a Hibachi, Thai restaurant, Chinese restaurant, etc. Spring Rolls(1⁄5): This was ordered delivery. Bad mistake because what I got delivered were definitely egg rolls. I was expecting the healthy, spring rolls one would find in phở restaurants. Mr. Lonely(3/5, Spicy Shrimp, Cucumber, with Seared Pepper Tuna, served with Avocado Sauce): Fresh ingredients! I remember my first bite into the peppered tuna, delicious. However, this roll didn’t really appeal to me and was lacking in some aspect. I wouldn’t personally order this again. Seafood Pad Thai(3⁄5): This was ordered delivery. First of all, a star went up because the serving. The serving of this Pad Thai was good for 2 additional meals, and the amount of seafood was awesome. They were not stingy about that. However, it wasn’t the best Pad Thai. I must say it tasted over time though… Or for my other 2 additional meals. Overall, it was mediocre and tasted better with fish sauce that was provided. Asian Pear(4⁄5): Great drink with a slight unique taste with a good amount of alcohol, nothing too strong. Service was great, our waiter was around enough but wasn’t annoying. He also recommended a few choices of the local favorites to my friend, who was new to the area. I would recommend visiting during the summer when the water fire is available for a great view. Also when the weather permits, I would recommend sitting outdoors for the view. Would I come again? Not on my own. The food didn’t meet par.

My family and I came here while my parents were in town visiting, and we decided to stop here for lunch. The sushi here is extremely fresh! The plates and flatware that they use are super fancy and the server was really quick and visited our table to check on us appropriately. The Chinese five spice calamari was definitely a unique and delicious take on traditional fried calamari. The chicken lettuce wraps were pretty on point also! I can’t wait to visit this place in the summer when the patio opens up. The location is gorgeous and a very nice part of Providence.

Four stars is an average for several dimensions: the nem chow were best in class(5). The sushi and sashimi were very good(4) but the prices were high, so they get knocked down a star(3), so when I was done having sticker shock from the bill, I called it a four. Based on one visit.

Dinner at Jacky’s Waterplace was a great experience. I chose to eat here based on previous reviews and proximity to WaterFire. Being an out-of-towner from New York, I think I picked a good spot. Jackys offers trendy ambiance with upscale service without upscale prices and the need to «dress-up». My reservation was easily made and my wife and I were seated right on time. The drinks were excellent and pretty comparable to NYC prices. Our coconut shrimp appetizer was fresh and delicious. There were a lot of options on the menu but I ultimately went with the pad Thai(which for $ 15, was amazing — the leftovers fed me for two additional meals). I kind of wish I ordered sushi but I just didn’t have enough room. Maybe next time if I visit Providence again!

I’d have to say that if you’re going to fork over the green for the sushi options, at the very least, I would expect the taste caliber to be a bit higher given the«up-scale» aethestics and atmosphere. Jacky’s makes up for taste and price with portion size, which may be the justification you need to give this place a shot. I think Jacky’s attempt at traditional Chinese dishes like the Cantonese hofun and General Tao’s chicken were mildly successful, but the general atmosphere of being a sushi bar would benefit more from additional Japanese fare. Seeing as it is a sushi bar, I ordered the chirashi for myself and was slightly impressed with the presentation, taste and freshness. You get four mini boxes of sushi and brown rice topped with thick cuts of raw fish at a price comparable to other sushi houses. A balanced combination of aesthetics, flavor, and creativity. The bar/lounge atmosphere meant reclined low seats which made it awkwardly distant from the table. Overall, it was worth a try, but not sure about a second look.

Usually have a great experience here. DON’T COMEON A SATURDAYNIGHT. Waitress was nonexistant. Totally turned me off, but the food is great as always and the ambience is one of a kind. Just beware of busy times, be prepared to wait!

One of my favorite dinner spots in Providence, because the steak tips are just SOGOOD! I’ve celebrated several birthdays here, come here when family is in town, and gone with friends when we were in the mood for some up-scale delicious food. Definitely would highly recommend! My favorite dish is the grilled sirloin steak tips with young chow rice — the glaze on the steak tips is delicious and they are cooked to perfection! One of my friends is a vegetarian usually, but will eat the steak tips here. I’ve also had the sushi and pad thai(both of which are good) as well as many other of the dishes on the menu. All of the food I’ve had here has tasted great! The cocktails are yummy too — if you come with a group be sure to try the scorpion bowl! There’s also a wide selection of wine and some other cocktails that are expertly crafted. The atmosphere is fun; there’s decorative lights hanging from the ceiling and circular, patterned booths that make the ambience classy and trendy. It’s a fun restaurant to dress up for, and is good for accommodating large groups. Large windows line one side of the room and you can see the water, with a reflection of the lights from inside on the glass at night — it’s a beautiful view of Providence!

Walking distance from Omni, didn’t want PF changs. So I made the walk. Nice atmosphere, a couple tvs at the bar. Based on the look and prices I thought the food would blow me away. However the Food was just good not great. I figured the presentation for general tso would like five star. I’m not from the area and would try something else next time.

I came here with a large group, and we ordered a ton of different rolls to split — as well as the walnut shrimp and crab Rangoon apps. Everything was delicious(granted, it’s hard to mess up sushi in my opinion), and the fish was of fairly decent quality. My only qualms are that the wine list was mediocre(middle-of-the road wines and not a huge selection), and it took us a while to get our food/drinks. But, I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Prov!

I usually like to give places in Providence a good(and honest) rating in an attempt to support success of local businesses and restaurants. I’ll let minor dissatisfactions slide for an overall good assessment. I’ve hesitated a long time to come to Jacky’s, based on reviews, but I finally paid a visit for a group dinner. Unfortunately, I can’t justify a great rating. I feel bad, because I genuinely think the potential here is huge. The location is beautiful and the interior evokes a sense of fanciness somewhat foreign to Providence. It’s an ideal setting for romantic date or to enjoy the evening of WaterFire. The food, however, is pretty bad. I dislike any restaurant that lumps together multiple disparate cuisines under one«pan-Asian» roof. It’s like going to a «Western restaurant» in Beijing.(They exist, and they’re gross.) Since I was at a group dinner, I was able to sample several things. I’ll first note that the portions are enormous; some may consider this great, but to me large portions are antithetical to fine dining. I may be mistaken, but I thought they were going for a fine dining vibe. Since pretty much everything I sampled was not agreeable, I won’t be super detailed. Just some highlights: the various fried rice dishes were laden with a heavy soy flavor, the sashimi didn’t have that scintillating freshness I should expect, and the roast duck was cold. I did like the crispy skin of the duck, although the Hoisin sauce tasted commercial. The drinks are large and not especially strong, just very sweet. They come in a rather basic glass with little garnish and a clear plastic straw. It’s just so gauche. Service is too expedient. Things were being served way too fast, such that dishes were being placed atop menus that hadn’t yet been cleared. The servers are friendly and attentive, however. Overall, it feels like a chain that tries to make and supersize everything, and in so doing doesn’t execute much culinary skill. Their prime location and beautiful décor would be better maximized with a more focused cuisine. For example, just do sushi, and do it with perfection.

Had a great dinner out with friends here! Sitting outside in the summer with perfect weather and the water below, along with some music from a nearby concert venue was awesome! The ambiance worked well, especially outside, but the indoor restaurant also had a fun vibe. Loved the big lanterns! I was excited to try the lobster lettuce wraps but was disappointed due to the addition of celery in them, it overpowered everything else and I didn’t think they belonged. See ya later celery! The rolls we selected were good, nothing above and beyond a typical specialty roll, but the sauces provided added a nice touch, so overall I was good with the rolls. This is a fun dinner night out with all of the aspects of the place tied together but don’t expect to be blown away by the food.

Ordered delivery from Jacky’s using Dashed. My expectations were pretty high considering all the hype behind Jacky’s. I’ve ordered delivery sushi from restaurants before and it’s never any less fresh than ordering in. Service — I ordered 2 special fusion rolls which came to $ 56.55 including the delivery fee. A little steep but I was committed to staying in with my cat and eating sushi. My order was placed at 6:09 and I’m writing my review at 7:17 after finishing dinner. Quick service! Definitely a star. Food — Let’s start off with the Scorpion roll. This included(16) pieces of both Dancing Eel(shrimp tempura, eel, avocado, scallion, cucumber) and Spider. The Spider roll side was flat out disgusting. The leaf lettuce included had a slimy texture to it, I pulled it out. The fried portion of the Spider roll was so greasy it turned my stomach. I threw it away after 2 bites. The Dancing Eel roll was ok. The tempura shrimp was very large which was a nice bonus. The flavored were mild. Once again there was a faint grease flavor but not as bad as the saturated Spider roll. I finished this part but regretted eating it. I’m not a fan of finishing anything I don’t love. For $ 24 this was grossly overpriced. I also was charged $ 24 instead of the $ 20 listed in the menu they gave me. I would never order this again. The Jacks Cake roll(eel, avocado, tempura flakes, spicy tuna, king crab, and to tobiko) was better than the Scorpion roll but not worth the price tag. This roll was mostly rice, the spicy tuna was no spicy, and the king crab made up less than 5% of the roll. This mostly tasted like rice and avocado. I was charged $ 18 and the menu sent quoted it at $ 15. Once again, not worth the money. Final thoughts — Delivery time was spot on. The quality of the sushi was poor with large price tags. Order online and you’ll pay $ 3-$ 5 more per roll. This doesn’t make sense considering you’re charged a hefty delivery fee. I feel like I was robbed! Perhaps I’ll try coming in to Jacky’s to sample some food but probably not anytime soon.

Their sushi is just okay. Not the best I’ve had. They do have a beautiful atmosphere and service was execellent. I probably wouldnt come back but it’s definately an experience if you want to try something new or need a fancier place for a birthday or business dinner.

Based on the décor and feel of the restaurant, I’d give five stars… However, the food has never blown me away. I would actually expect it to have better, but nothing was ever bad. I’ve tried about every appetizer on the list and several sushi rolls. Nothing left me craving a trip back. But, like I said, the restaurant and décor makes it amazing place to go for apps and drinks especially to show off a bit, but I’d do dinner somewhere else after.
