«Woohoo! It is as ‘great» as it gets.” I live in Reno, but if I’m anywhere near RI, you can bet a trip to get the amazing food will happen. The people are also so helpful and friendly. Its great how they keep old favorites, but create new stars. Only downside, another customer said that if you want to order for a major holiday, do so weeks and weeks in advance, as it’s a family business that strives for quality and satisfaction with each order, rather than selling out.

Awesome! Don’t worry much about the menu — just ask the owner what they have ready for calzones and select yours that way. The guy is so nice and friendly and you can tell that he has a regular crowd as he seems to know everyone. Aside from the delicious calzones, they also offer personal pizzas that taste like greasy heaven. It’s a hole in the wall so don’t be put off by that, just go and whatever you choose you will love!

Omg. The chix parm is to die for. The chix oarm is crust to crust inside. Like butter.

This place isn’t any good anymore they used to be years ago but now I think they only make five calzones. Every time I go they are always empty by 11:00AM. The food gets handle in the back somewhere.

Kidding me? I have never once had a bad calzone, pizza or anything from this joint. Just stopped in for a few calzones. Always so damn good. It’s the dough. The dough is perfect. The sauce. It’s the sauce. The sauce is perfect. It’s the cooks. The cooks are perfect. Oh my god this place rocks. Been coming here since I was. Kid. Always so delicious. They take credit cards now? Uh oh. Oh, man. I don’t know if I like that but I do like that. Just add the extra 40 pounds now, please.

I’ve lived within three blocks of this place for over five years and my first time visiting was last week. I AMASHAMED. Here’s the thing, the calzones at Jeannette’s are considered legends and every time I tried to get one, the place is closed because they ran out! Can you imagine? A place that could open at 9AM and close by 12PM because THEYRANOUTOFFOOD. Fortunately, my lucky day finally came and boy was it worth the wait. I snagged two calzones: 1. Chicken Parm 2. Spinach Deluxe I figured, one per person, right? WRONG. These things are gigantic. Ryan D. and I could’ve easily shared just one. But you know what? I regret nothing. I got the last Chicken Parm one let me tell you, the chicken was perfectly breaded, the sauce was perfectly tomato-y, and it’s all nestled in this heavenly fluffy blanket made of dough. The Spinach Deluxe was for me as I was trying to be a bit healthier. Too bad the calzone was stuffed with so much cheese and pepperoni that the spinach seemed for like a garnish… which I was totally ok with. Each calzone ranges in price but the two came out to about $ 13 and it gave us meals for at least two days. Will we be back? Of course. Just gotta make sure I get there before you do. :)

Jeanette’s makes what are probably going to be the best calzones of your life. If that’s not enough of a sell for you, let me break it down: –Owners are super friendly, helpful, and all-round good people. — Calzones are always fresh. The dough to innards ratio is just right, and they’re all plenty cheesy. –Be careful if you’re a latecomer, once everything sells out, they close! Calling ahead ensures that they’ll have what you seek. –It may become super-busy around lunchtime, patience is a virtue. Prices are totally reasonable. A spinach pie will set you back about 4 bucks, and a meatier calzone will be about 6 or so. All in all, this is a Providence staple. Be sure to head over there(but don’t take my calzone).

I couldn’t help myself but immediately rush to my computer to write one of the most glowing review of 2015. For my fellow Unilocalers, you know that excited feeling you get when the chef gives the confident, yet unassuming smile and assures you that you’ll love their food? It is one of the greatest moments a foodie can experience, especially when the anticipation is matched with the results. First of all, to say that the calzones are special because of the amazing dough(which is totally true) is to say that thousand-dollar bottles are well-received only because of the grapes. I’ve driven by this place at least twice per day and I’m now beating up myself for never trying the best calzones in RI. The establishment is small, but kinda cute as the bakery is right next to the store. The store clerks are incredibly friendly, helpful, and full of confidence in the quality of their food. Hearing that most of the popular calzones sell out by noon, I preordered a few days in advance and picked them up the next day. I tried the spinach deluxe, eggplant parmesean(it was cold), chicken parm, and buffalo chicken. To say that the dough is amazing is an understatement, but it so chewy, soft, and had just the perfect amount of salt and herbs. I was incredibly surprised by the serving size of the chicken cutlet and both parm and buffalo chicken calzones were amazing! I especially loved the spinach deluxe(with cheese and pepperoni), but I think a spinach pie by itself(or cheese) may be preferable for me. The eggplant parm was cold, so I couldn’t say much of it, but I’m sure it’ll be great when we place it in the oven. Overall, this is a place that you should definitely check out. It may not be the healthiest food, but it sure damn is amazing! Food: 5 stars Price: 5 stars(they’re only $ 4 – 7) Service: 5 stars Ambiance: 4 stars

Love the food! I wish they would have longer hours, usually closed by 1:00 pm and hardly ever answer the phone. I’ve called two days in advance and they can’t make a box of pizza in that short a notice. I’ve called for two days now and no one will pick up the phone so I can place an order…

Went here with my boyfriend and our newborn over the weekend in search of a buffalo chicken calzone. When we approached the building there was a line out the door! We knew that this must be something special, upon approaching the counter we were soon to be told they had run out of the buffalo chicken calzones… bummer! So instead we tried a meatball an cheese and we’re not disappointed delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try more! Calzone had the right dough consistency and was fresh! The inside was seasoned correctly and not bland tasty! I would come back and tell my friends!

If you love a calzone, you must try Jeanette’s…ANYTHING is on the menu is a must try. Be are to get there early or call and have one set a side because once they run out, you’re out of luck until the next day — they are usually sold out by 1:30 Don’t be intimidated by the empty cases… they sell out before they can be put on display!

THE best calzones in Rhode Island! Always fresh and yummy! I can’t pick a favorite because that are ALL amazing! The recent remodel came out great as well.

Ask for a chocolate chip cookie warmed up in the microwave. The cookie is good, but the chocolate they use is to die for! One of the best cookies I’ve had!

Only complaint about this place is the hours. Staff is very friendly. All the calzones are really good and cheap and the pizza is good too. Selection is usually the same day to day, but you will see a few different items occasionally(usually the pizza). Ratio of meat to cheese to dough is perfect. DONOT go here if you are in a diet!

Dear Mr. Bucci, I know that you would sprinkle a little something special on each and every one of your delicious calzones. The store has been closed for a few, due to renovations, and now that I have successfully detoxed from my last bender(a stretch of time when I dropped in to get a spinach and cheese, no less than every-other-day, for two months) I just want to say thank you for everything. The new storefront looks amazing(thanks to the craftsmanship of DB Glass) and I look forward to returning when Jeanette’s reopens. Sincerely, bjs

we LOVE jeanette’s bakery. Especially after a night of heavy drinking. Calzones are delicious… all of them. This place is such a hidden gem. When we were moving into the city our mattress delivery gentlemen recommended it to us. SO glad he did. Get there early! CASHONLY!

The experience is awesome. First, the staff is really nice. Second, a giant spinach pie only costs $ 4?!! And the most important part is the taste. it’s really favorable! The bread is chewy soft and compliments the filling!

A hidden gem of Providence. They sell out fast, so call ahead to reserve your order. I recommend any of the spinach calzones foremost, and then the chicken Parmesan or cheeseburger. I deduct one star for their lack of an easily accessibly menu online as well as for their limited hours of business. I know it’s part of the mystery of this seemingly empty shop, but it would make customers happier. Location is also inconvenient for pedestrian traffic.

One of my favorite bakeries. Made by hand right in the shop, each calzone and pizza has the best ingredients and the best value for size. Some items are not available every day so you just have to go with the flow. It isn’t open all day so make sure you go in early. Not too early, as they don’t open quite at 8am.
