Lucky 8

The food was bland. We wanted chicken satay and they gave us chicken pad Thai. Worst pad Thai I’ve ever had.

All up in my parents’ hood, was a problem. A very large problem indeed. Not a single Chinese delivery service to be found: the closest is on Warwick Ave & since my family’s been buying from them for years, they would deliver. However, this didn’t exactly leave the fam with options. Thankfully, Lucky Garden 8 has arrived!
Where the good ‘olé Dunkin Donuts used to stand, is now a lovely little take-​out joint. Beneath its dull exterior and flashing lights is actually tidy, clean and surprisingly delicious substance. Their menu is vast and appealing with a good amount of diversified Asian flavours sprinkled in including pretty awesome Chinese & Thai lunch specials for under $ 10. They have the typical Chinese food you’d expect (Beef w/​Broccoli was extremely tasty) however I was impressed by their grilled chicken salad (cucumbers, basil oh my!) and super spicy Namprigpaow. Their Nime Chow (minus the shrimp) and chicken fingers were pretty bomb.
Additionally, they keep their restrooms clean and the staff is always friendly. Recently they started offering delivery to a limited radius.
So yeah, I would definitely give Lucky a try if you’re cravin something less greasy or some quick Thai food! I’m pretty impressed.

Very impressed with this new addition to the area. It’s very convenient for those of us who work at the nearby hospitals, and the service is lightning quick whether you get pickup or delivery. If you do decide to stop in to pick up, the interior is very clean and beautifully decorated. It looks nothing like what it used to be (a Dunkin Donuts drive thru). The food is very fresh and excellent quality, especially the broccoli which is always crunchy and flavorful, not soggy. All good experiences here so far!
