I’ve lived on the East Side for ~7 years now, and I’ve used M&S several times, for 2 different cars, and I’ve always had a good experience. I’m not especially knowledgeable about cars, but I’ve consistently been impressed by how reasonable the prices have been, and they’ve always had the car in and out fairly quickly. On one occasion I thought there was an issue, but the mechanic looked at it and said the car was in good shape and gave it back free of charge. On top of that, he’s always made a point to show/explain what was wrong, and on several occasions taken the car out for test drives to make sure the problem is fixed to my satisfaction. The only down side is that they’re cash-only. Overall, M&S does professional work with a nice personal touch, and I’ve never felt like they were trying to gouge me.
