A pleasant little place to get out of the rain and warm up with a coffee. The World War I monument in Memorial Park can be viewed out the bank of windows at the corner tables. Service was efficient and friendly.

Working downtown these days, this is a convenient and warm place to eat. It’s VERY spacious. They could probably add a dozen more tables, but then you’d lose that«casual, couch» dining experience. I honestly feel like I am in someone’s house, not a restaurant. Near panoramic views of Memorial Boulevard are nice. The staff is very warm and friendly, greeting you like an old friend they haven’t seen in years. My chicken salad wrap yesterday, was VERY tasty, but my tuna salad today was kind of bland. But there are MANY options on the menu, so I will be a regular!

What a beautiful little coffee/breakfast shop! I’ve walked by this establishment numerous times and finally decided I needed to partake. And I have to say, it’s really a beautiful, comfortable and tasty eatery. A brisk day had me wanting a nice hot cappuccino and breakfast sandwich and Metro Café did not disappoint. Greeted by a very friendly staff, I chose a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant and that hot capp I desired. It didn’t disappoint. Delicious, hot and fresh. But the décor is what makes me want to return to relax and enjoy. So comfortable! Beautiful antique couches that looked just divine for lounging and enjoying a nice cup of joe and a pastry. An expansive space for a coffee shop, the walls are decorated beautifully, board games are provided around the room and free newspapers abound(Providence Phoenix and The Onion…). I just can’t wait to bring my pretty traveling companion so she can write while I read the paper… all while enjoying a hot cup of coffee and a muffin. I highly recommend this place. It’s so, so comfortable and relaxing. And for those who enjoy it, they serve beer! Gotta go… really, you just have to go!

My go-to lunch and morning coffee spot! The girls who work here are all so friendly. Get a coffee card and your tenth coffee is free, no size limit.

Best café in New England? Quite possible. Great value because of its location, spaciousness, coziness and low price. Following our family’s visit to RISD art museum, indeed fortunate we found the cool metro café nearby, while it’s steaming hot outside. Nice experince, we’ll remember it and come back again.

Kind of bummed. Ok super bummed. I’ll start with the good. Its a big open space with lots of windows– bright open casual. Great for studying, meeting and chatting. They have coffee and ice cream that looks really yummy. My boyfriend and I had a sandwich/wrap and it was blah. Super bland. Not impressed at all. I might go back for coffee or dessert. Happy that I tried it though.

This place is an excellent choice for breakfast or lunch downtown. I work nearby, and try to stop by on occasion for a breakfast sandwich or a wrap. They have a nice variety of options, including a «noodles» side dish that’s a wonderful change from the downtown lunchtime monotony. The staff is exceedingly friendly and service is quick. I have never had to wait for than a few minutes at even the busiest of times — which is actually a shame because this place should be jam-packed with customers. I think being a few streets away from much of its competition makes people forget that it’s here — you really shouldn’t! I highly recommend this café.

Metro Café has been open for about two months now, and I love it! I go there before work every morning for my coffee, and I love their bagels and pastries! They also have a great lunch menu(soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc.), and they have ice cream– perfect for the summer months and Providence’s Waterfires! The service is friendly and fast. I definitely recommend stopping by!
