This Providence Planned Parenthood has some of the nicest nurse practitioners and doctors. I will drive in 45 minutes to this particular office, because the healthcare offices in my home city have never made me feel welcome or cared for as an individual. I appreciate not only the kindness of the staff, but their thorough explanations and level of professionalism. The office is well organized and has always been able to track my records easily. They’ve also been helpful at times when I was in between healthcare plans to help offer me a bill I can afford. Planned Parenthood has always been my go to healthcare provider for my female needs.

3 stars for being convenient, sorta. I almost would go down to 2 stars but I continue to frequent the place so that would be sort of hypocritical. I like it because you can just walk in, no appointment necessary. And it usually isn’t busy, so you’re seen right away. Ok. hmm…I need to come up with one more good thing to justify my 3 stars. … … ok, well. they sell condoms that look like lollipops! not that I’ve ever been tempted to buy them but its kind of amusing. there, thats three. Ok now on to the suck. Almost EVERY time I go there. no matter what time of day it is, they’re closing up for some reason. I don’t know if I just have really bad luck or what. I can go at noon. they’re closed for lunch. I can go at 3. they’re closed for a break. Today I went around 3:30 and they were just putting down the shades because of ‘computer problems’ Luckily I banged on the door and someone let me in to grab a pack of pills. Its just super inconvenient to go there, find a parking spot, walk up to the office, and then see a sign that says ‘come back at such-and-such a time’. There was actually one visit where I walked up to the place, and bumped into the 2 staff members walking out on their way to lunch. So they were like ‘oh…uh we’re closed for lunch now…” So I told them all I needed was a pack of pills(a 1 min transaction for those that don’t know). They were like ‘can you come back in an hour?’ I was like.’…ok…’ Thankfully once I started to walk away they came to their senses and yelled for me to come back, that they could help me out. I know everyone has to take a lunch break, but I don’t see why they can’t have a set time that their patients are all aware of, so that this kind of thing doesn’t happen so often. Second thing that is annoying about this place– their records don’t seem to be updated. For the past 4 months I’ve gotten the same thing told to me «oh you have a balance with us of 22.00» No I don’t. It’s a mistake and every time I’ve gone in there the secretary says shes going to correct it. She never does apparently. They also keep telling me I need to have my yearly check-up, when I just had it 2 months ago. Grr.
