Friendly staff, cheap and good food. Like their five dollar breakfast special which includes coffee. Yum

Homestyle cuisine, friendly staff, not fancy at all, but nice.

I’ve been twice now for lunch and have enjoyed it both times! Plus, the food is affordable. They have a breakfast menu, soup salads, sandwiches, wraps, and paninis, and most plates are $ 10 or under. They also offer most of their dishes with and without meat(with different prices), which I really appreciate. I also enjoy their oven baked fries that come on the side of the sandwiches, though my boyfriend thinks they’re too soft and not crispy enough. After two visits I still haven’t entirely figured out if you’re supposed to seat yourself. Both times we stood there awkwardly, and then someone brought us to a table. It wasn’t entirely clear whether we were supposed to wait or they were just helping since we were just standing there! If anyone’s a regular let me know!

Owned by the same people who owned Rue de L’Espoir on the east side. Friendly service, but usually very slow, even for takeout(I’ve never eaten in). When I walk in, I never quite know who I should be talking to or ordering from. The sandwiches are good, but not especially memorable. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here but it’s not a bad option. Hope to give them another try in the near future, if nothing else, because of the staff.

We took some out of town guests to Rue Bis on July 23 because we had heard good things about it and we were so disappointed. The service was terrible. The waitress spilled water on our table. The food was worst. The chicken salad was tasteless, shredded mush. Everything we ordered was poor quality. We won’t be back.

Stopped in for lunch stood in line for 5 mins just to find out we could have just sat down and they would bring over menus. The staff is friendly but don’t seem overly trained on forming a line for takeout and seating those who want to sit at a table. The Turkey club was delicious and came with a side of homemade fries. I will defiantly be back, but this may be a take out place. a simple sandwich and water took an hour form order to payment. If I was here on a weekend thats fine but not on a work day.

Run by what appeared all women(never see that nowdays). Everything is made fresh by them onsite. The soup was delicious as was the eggplant parm, goat cheese, sundried tomato sandwich on honey oat bread! I can’t wait to go back to eat more of their food!

The food here is not bad, but the service could really use some improving. We sat down for 10 minutes and finally got our menus, and then another 15 minutes until we could even get our orders in. It was incredibly frustrating. The sandwiches here are great for lunch — I really enjoy the wild bill(turkey with special mayo, Swiss). Their cucumber salad is fantastic — pickled just the right amount, sliced thinly with a little crunch with the sesame seeds sprinkled on the top. If not for the wait and service, this place would be a solid four stars.

Still so in love with this place, the food, and the people who work here — especially Maurica(sp?) who always hooks me up with extra cucumber salad. Now I’ve become a known regular and it makes my experience just that much better each time I visit. :) Thanks for a great lunch, ladies!

Regular patron, and have never had a bad meal. Staff is incredible. Marissa remembers our orders, and makes recommendations based on what each of us likes. I normally have the Good salad with grilled chicken or chicken salad … Amazing! Everything is good. Omelettes, breakfast burrito, Jeremy sandwich, eggplant sandwich … All delicious, ingredients very fresh!

Atmosphere was great! It’s a order at the counter kind of place but serve when the place gets busy and the food is great! Went with a toddler and got a plain jane aka a grilled cheese and the eggplant panini. Ordered both fries and cuke salad with our sandwiches and both were great as well, very evident that the fries were hand made. It’s a across the street from the children’s museum and easy to access. Will deff be back!

Peanut butter and cookie dough: two of my favorite ingredients. I’ll go to great lengths trying to convince others that they are not only highly nutritious, but also essential for survival. When my stomach rumbles, my thoughts invariably turn to one or both of them. And I’m hard pressed to think of a place that combines them better than Rue Bis, which serves the giant peanut butter cookie of my dreams. Dense, fresh, packed with peanuts and peanut butter chips, and just the right mix of crumbly-yet-moist: this, my friend, is the definitive afternoon snack(my usual peanut butter protein bars are just sad, by comparison). I’ve been going to Rue Bis since it occupied a charming little hole in the wall in the Jewelry/Knowledge District. They’ve since expanded to a larger space that is a great place to come in for a cup of coffee, vanilla or spiced chai tea, salad, soup or a sandwich. This is a popular place for takeout and meeting catering, with lots of offices within walking distance(among them: two where I used to work). The food and drinks are pretty standard fare, but offer a nice break from my usual brown bag existence. You’ll find a very familial environment here. I’ve seen at least one of the friendly faces behind the counter for the better part of a decade. Familiarity in a neighborhood eatery like Rue Bis, breeds comfort. So, too, does their legendary shredded cucumber salad; the sweetness and vinegar harmonize well, with flavorful seeds swimming around in the mix. A sandwich order is not complete, without a small side of «cuke salad,» served in a tiny paper cup. The different pastries stored behind the glass counter always look appealing, too; but I tend not to mess with success, so I’ve never strayed from my dear peanut butter cookie.

4 stars because they gave me a free cookie and apologized for the 7min wait. Hidden away in the jewelry district, indicative of the area’s up and coming vibe. Not really a huge sandwich fan at baseline but their eggplant was scrumptious. Chunks of marinated eggplant, slightly tart pesto, chewy bread. In retrospect I liked it better as leftovers the second day. Let it soak in its own juices. Kudos to sandwich staying power!

I was excited to try this place, but was disappointed in the end. My meal was relatively inexpensive and menu seemed reasonably priced. The service was above average, and the staff were friendly and helpful but my palate was not impressed. We ordered a spinach calzone, fries, and a salad for lunch. The spinach calzone was not fresh and did not taste good. Worst of all, the fries were soggy and cold. I rarely leave a plate of fries at the end of my meal, but I did this time.

First of all, if there was just a star category for customer service, I’d give them a 6⁄5. The people who work here are so kind and considerate, and I feel more than welcome every time I stop by. I’ve never been here specifically for breakfast, but everything on that menu looks and smells delicious. I am a huge fan of their yellow mug deal… Free coffee on Mondays is always a plus. Everything on the lunch menu is extremely reasonably priced, especially given how good the food tastes, and the quantities that you receive. I’m partial to the Frankenstein sandwich, and the Good salad; and lo and behold, if I am unable to decide between the two, the have a half salad/sandwich option. The vanilla chai(iced) is one of the best things I have personally tasted on this planet. So sweet and delicious. Stop by for lunch!

Alright, Rue-Bis. I found you and I tried your Rue Wrap. It was supposed to be on a sundried tomato wrap, but I got whole wheat(blech). I couldn’t really taste the lemongrass mayo, and the chicken was over-cooked and stringy. The tomato was mealy, and that cucumber salad had seen better days. Maybe it’s because I came late in the day, but there was only ONE person working, and I had to wait a good 15 minutes for her to come out of the kitchen to take my order. Then I had to wait 15 more to get my wrap. ANd THEN she didn’t charge me correctly. Odd. All in all, truly disappointing which is sad because you’re cute, Rue-Bis. From your name to your location to your menu, you’re cute.

I love this place, I wish I still order there as much as I used to… but I guess that’s not too good for my wallet. I cannot venture to ordering anything else because my one and only order is always the brown bag lunch-comes with a sandwich, cookie and drink for about $ 10. The sandwich that I must always order is the BBT, bacon, basil & tomato on honey oat bread. Absolutely fabulous!
