Shantael is awesome, before meeting her i went to a nail salon for my eyebrows and finally realized there has to be someone out there who does just waxing and massages etc, then boom came Shantael! her reviews were above and beyond so i knew i had to book, my first vist i was hooked shes so funny nice and kind and knows excatly what i want and has taught me so much and she has made my eyebrows perfect i always wanted them to look this way and was told for years i could not have them a certain way and thats that! I recently moved to Providence from Upstate NY. Leaving my previous aesthetician was one of the worse parts of moving because she was extremely good. Any woman who moves to a new city knows the pain of finding a new aesthetician. I began my hunt via Groupon and Unilocal.Imagine my shock to learn of what passes for a facial here in RI since many aestheticians cannot use the lancet to facilitate extractions (Shantael can though !!!)
Shantael literally saved my face!!! After months of subpar care it was truly the worse for wear. It is NOW finally on its way to recovery. She not only does an amazing job with facials but also with waxing and eyebrow tinting. Yes she works out of her home and this helps it feel more personal rather than a number in a long list of clients for the day. She is extremely accommodating and has dealt with my add ons and crazy work hours. If you want an amazing facial or wax Shantael is your person

Shantael saved my face! My skin was very damaged from skin medications and I didn’t know what else to do. My face was burned, dry, peeling, inflamed, and irritated. I came to see her. She went out of her way beforehand to get products specific to my needs. She took her time and gave me a nice, relaxing, thorough facial. I also purchased an exfoliator, moisturizer, and serum. My face feels and looks 10 times better! She also gave me tips and taught me about my skin. I cant wait to see her next month! Thanks again!

I am so glad I went here! I travel for my job so I rely on Unilocal to find the best waxing, massage, day spas to maintain my wellness in different cities. When I called to make a same day appointment, Shantel was extremely accommodating! The only thing was that I had to call once I got to the spa and walk to the back on the entrance where their is parking. When my über arrived I realized it was because the spa is in her home! When I entered, the place was so inviting and very clean, well organized. I felt literally at home! I had a full face wax which was filled with great casual conversation and music and little to no pain! I hadn’t even realized she was done until she gave me the mirror! My brows were naturally and delicately sculpted and not a hair in sight.
As far as the massage, good God that massage was just what my body and SOUL needed! As an avid massage goer, her pressure was perfect! She worked through knots that I felt I have had for eons and soothed my body like she was blessing it! I woke up from the dreamlike massage feeing like a new person! No pain, relaxed and energized to do my show (lots and dancing in heels), as well as having tons of recommendations for restaurants, nail salons, and apple orchards to visit during my week stay in providence!
I’m so glad I came here and I can’t wait to go tomorrow for my first microdermabrasion– which she showed me and educated me on for the new visit.

It had been a while since I visited a salon for waxing. I didn’t know where to start in a new location not knowing what to look for. So I started my own research for THE BEST aesthetician in my area. I came upon her reviews online and looked like everyone who had her has this fantastic experience on their reviews. So I booked her at the salon she used to work.
I guess I was a little nervous waiting. Though a moment she welcomed me at the waiting area, she made me so comfortable with her gracious smile and nice tone of her voice. She escorted me to the back room and instructed me how to get ready.
When the moment arrived on the spa table, she started to distract me from thinking about the pain I would be going through and believe me or not, it was not painful after all. It was amazingly quick and painless. Throughout the process, she was so professional. And she will give you some advice on how to maintain after the waxing.
Months later after having her as my routine maintenance aesthetician to go back to, I suggested my co-​worker to try waxing in her own area. She lives in MA, she made her first waxing appointment at one of those European style salon in the upscale neighbourhood. I was so excited for her. Turned out she had THE WORST experience you will ever hear from your friends. I was horrified to hear what she went through with her aesthetician.
I had never heard such negative experience by reading reviews on waxing when I was researching. So I was curious how much Shantael encounters on her daily basis that are difficult clients to deal with when it comes to waxing process. Am sure we all are different skin types and hair types. Sensitivities are different, pain tolerance levels are different in each one of us. Her answers really confirmed that how fortunate I am to find her as my aesthetician.
Waxing is a science. It involves in the volume of your hair, skin types, type of wax, temperature and thickness of wax and so on. With all the involvements concerned, Shantael knows what she is doing.
She left the salon in my neighbourhood earlier, but I begged her to keep me informed wherever she goes because I want her to be my aesthetician FOREVER… If she relocate to some other states, I will fly there to have it done by her.
I highly recommend her to anyone who is thinking of having it done in Providence to go and see her.

Best brazillian ever. I have been getting brazillians for years and Shantaels are the best ever. No pain, not irritation and my waxes lasts longer than ever.

Edit: I’ve bee using Shantael’s waxing services for about 5 months now and she is THE BEST! I just got my first much needed massage from her and the pain in my neck is nearly gone! I’ll be following up with her in the near future.

«Beauty is Pain» — quote from a gorgeous and ruthless Amazonian aesthetician in Vienna, Austria as she ripped hot wax from my friend Ashley’s face (and caused me to wimp out on reining in my ungroomed wildebeest self for many months in Europe that year).
Fast forward years later, and I’m still rather skittish around beauty service providers, given the barely disguised sadism I witnessed by the Viennese aesthetician and especially given an aesthetician’s large handy tool box of medieval torture devices, all designed to make a girl glow (if wielded correctly). Thus, I dillydallied on my own quest for perfect skin when I moved to RI, until one day I found skin miracle worker Shantael. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… DUM Dum dum. MAGIC LANCET. Trust me, she knows what she’s doing with your skin (and it doesn’t hurt!).
Bonus points for Shantael: skill + accompanying attitude, which turns out to be both a blessing and a potential curse for those with sensitive egos. Therefore, a warning: Shantael might MOM your non-​compliant beauty slacking butt. When she makes you look good, she wants to maintain you as a work of art and if you establish a relationship with her, she may tell you at random intervals the unadorned truth and may throw out some mom gems with the best intentions like: «So…what’s going on with your eyebrows (Shantael’s dead eyes staring at the untended growth above my eyes).» Um, caterpillars? Ya, caterpillars.
Lesson learned: Jane can take Tarzan out of the jungle, but Tarzan’s still gotta be Tarzan. Civilized skin takes effort, maintenance, and patience. I’m just glad Shantael is fully armed and capable of working with the beauties as well as the hairy beasts.

Shantel is one of the best, well educated, and experienced Estheticians I have ever worked with and had treatments within the 20 years I have been an Esthetician. Love her!
