I tried a vanilla vanilla cupcake yesterday at the block party. Love the frosting. The cake was good but it was a bit dense, like a muffin. I prefer it a bit lighter, but that frosting was really good.

Best cupcakes in Providence, whether they come from the truck or from a retail shop. I don’t even like cupcakes that much, but I get excited when I see their truck!

I was lucky enough to run into the adorable Sugarush cupcake truck on Benefit St. this past weekend! Cupcakes and coffee are important parts of a complete breakfast. In fact, they are a complete breakfast. Erica and her friendly team bake and curate a tasty rainbow of cupcakes in the belly of a lovingly restored 1950s International Harvester Van. I paired a s’mores cupcake with a black coffee to kick off my day. A-lot of people had the same idea ’cause they’d sold all their cupcakes to an adoring crowd by noon! It was one of the best cupcakes i’ve ever had… and it was Vegan! P. S. I’ll have to get there earlier next time, so I can get more to bring back to New York!

This are the best cupcakes in Providence! Maybe RI(I haven’t gone exploring that far yet) She’s always got a good variety available, and vegan and gluten-free options too! I wish they were out more…

Sugarush is RAD! How has no one reviewed this truck yet? Kids, next time you see this funky retro van, pull over, run over… just go over to it and let the fun begin. Erica and Kristen, the bakers behind the bus, have created adorable little confections in drool-worthy combos like chocolate cherry, creamsicle, lemon lavender and toasted coconut. YUM!!! You can mix it up and get a box or take away a single cake… either way, it’ll make your day. Don’t let the thought of frosting and cake fool you… Sugarush is vegan-friendly, with several options for those who prefer their fare animal-free. Personally, I am not a vegetarian or vegan, but on occasion I’ll go for these cakes myself. They’re all around town, usually on the East Side at the Hope St Farmer’s Market or near Frog & Toad, but you can follow them on Twitter to get the most up-to-date location. Now, if you’ll excuse me I have to go eat my cupcake…
