The Hive Custom Tattoo & Art Gallery

To elaborate on the previous review, I am very happy with my first tattoo (inside forearm), which I got here a little over a week ago. I was satisfied with all of the following aspects (listed in no particular order):
* SERVICE: I just walked in one day and showed Kevin my idea, which I had had for a long time. He was willing to immediately schedule an appointment for the actual tattooing. (In contrast, I visited another shop, where the store manager only called me back after several days to set up a *consultation* with the artist.) Similarly, the other staff at The Hive (Matt and Kyle) were friendly and happy to answer questions both before and after the tattooing.
* ART: There was one particular aspect of the design that I had to insist on, but Kevin honored my request and came up with a drawing that both of us thought looked good. I am pleased with the result. Several friends have been particularly impressed by the color.
* PROCESS: The tattooing process itself seemed relatively quick (2 — 2.5 hrs) for the size and color of the tattoo. (I’m basing this evaluation on the reaction of a friend with tattoos when I told him how long it took.) Moreover, they played one of my favorite albums during the tattooing! The tattoo seemed to heal quickly, which may likely attest to the quality of the tattoo work and/​or the aftercare instructions given.
* PRICE: The price seemed pretty good (from the customer’s perspective, that is) given the size and color of the tattoo. Again, since this was my first tattoo, I’m basing this evaluation on info and reactions from other friends with tattoos.
Overall, highly recommended!
