The Red sangria was delicious!!! The atmosphere is modern upscale and the place is clean… And staff very nice and sweet…

Absolutely love this place. Safest gay bar in town, speedy service, strong drinks and competitive prices. Always a welcoming feeling (they like money) if you’re in the area, def check it out.

Want to go out? Well this is the place! Such a great bar… Great drinks, awesome bartenders, everyone is so friendly… It is clean, fun and they play great music. Mike the owner is hysterical and has done great things for our community. I am thankful this place is here!

All the reviews about the great sangria are true. Steve the bartender makes several varieties. Mike the owner is a super nice guy. This should be an automatic place to go for great drinks and music as well. My wife and I will be back! !

I was new in town from NYC. My good friend brought me to this establishment. He raved about it. I wore my nicest attire. I wore one of a kind platform comme des garçon shoes that are 3 inches high. They kicked me out because I tripped walking in. They are hard to
walk in.
The owner was adamant that I vacate the premises for no reason other than I tripped on my 3 inch platform shoes.
So rude. I wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anybody and I intend on contacting the REAL owners, not the manager who is mediocre.

My favorite gay bar ever. The bartenders are always so friendly and make good drinks, people are friendly, the prices are good, and it’s just an all around great time. I don’t live in Rhode island anymore but every time I come back I come to this bar.

After being away from Providence for 4+ years I finally convinced my husband to go have a drink at this place. A very good friend of mine always spoke highly of it and frequents it often. Personally we are NOT into the «gay bar» scene. This place is great! It is a nice place for mature people to go! It is NOT a meat market!!! And I am happy to report That NO one (other customers, etc) touched me or tried too do thing I find highly inappropriate and rude!!! I was only stared at while we we there which is fine by me!!!
To my surprise I even ran into a very nice man who I have known for years.
The drink prices are VERY reasonable and the environment was nice! Again as I mentioned it is for a more mature crowd! It is NOT a meat market like many «gay» bars.
There was a wide variety of patrons at this establishment on the evening we visited.
We had a nice night and we will definitely go back!

Great bar with friendly staff and good drinks!

The Stable! This is such a great spot! I always start off here on a weekend night, and sometimes end the night here, too. As far as gay bars go, this is my preferred spot. It feels like home base.
Perhaps most importantly, it doesn’t have the sketchy feel that many gay bars and clubs have, where dudes walk up to you and start getting up in your business without asking for consent. No, this is a place to hang out with friends, or perhaps go out and meet some new ones.
During the warm season, they have a spectacular outdoor area. It gets kind of crowded between 10:30−12 on a weekend, but that’s fine. Prepare to make friends with whoever’s sitting nearby… most folks are very nice here.
During the chilly season, it’s a comfortable temperature inside. There’s really nowhere to put your coat, so wear a nice one ;)
The drinks are great and the bartenders are excellent. You’ll quickly be on a first-​name basis with them. The sangria, if you are an aficionado, is always on point. They kind of rapid-​fire through making drinks for loads of patrons, but don’t hesitate to ask if they can make you something special – they’ll make it worth your wait.
The cons… long bathroom lines, but folks there are pretty friendly, and you’ll probably make some new friends while waiting.

I don’t frequent Stable often. I have one friend who swears by their sangria and as it was his birthday last night we went to get his fave. The space is small and dark but not in a bad way necessarily lol. It’s very much a divey kind of spot where everyone knows everyone and you’re bound to run into the same people every weekend. The sangria is delish, I’ve had other drinks in the past there but nothing that really tickled my fancy. The music is loud and the video screens play music videos. I don’t have much experience with the staff since I never buy my own drinks here.
All in all it’s a decent spot to grab a drink with friends.

It was such a quiet night so I didn’t get the full effect, but I can see why people like this place. Number one, the sangria was killer. Loved it. I would be an addict if I lived there. And this sexy, handsome bartender working there was a sweet as pie to me as a visitor and I felt welcomed, as I did by some nice guests next to me. Very nice indeed.

A nice little place with good music, friendly staff, and a little patio in the back. The first time I visited, it was Sangria Sunday. Sangria’s so great for a sunny afternoon of socializing, i soon wondered why Sangria Sunday isn’t an institution from coast to coast. There was free food and a homey feel.
The long and narrow bar area can get a little cramped at times, and you might have to wait a bit for a drink, but this is a lively and comfortable spot to pop in to.

AMAZING customer service. They are so friendly and accommodating. The sangrias are all FABULOUS!
Besides that, the customer service overall is perfect. I had a question about a charge on my card and I called the bartender and he was extremely helpful and there ended up being no problem at all, which shows how organized they are!

The problem with gay bars in Providence is that you always see the same faces, and the faces at Stable are not that young. Not necessarily a problem, just not my preference. Whenever I take my gay friends out, I always suggest Stable because it is light-​years better than Mirabar and free entry, unlike Dark Lady. Good for a casual hang out and socializing but not for dancing. They could also improve their video entertainment.

The Stable is usually my first stop on a weekend night. This place is always busy, and deservedly so. The bartenders are the nicest bartenders. Ever. Drinks are on the strong side (:D), and reasonably priced.
But let’s be honest. The absolute best thing about the Stable is the back patio. In the summer, its PACKED. In the colder months, good luck getting a spot by one of the heaters.
The only thing that is a slight drawback is the bathrooms. There are only two bathrooms, and at 11:00pm on a Saturday night, you could be in line for a little while. The line also snakes into the bar area, turning the already crowded bar into a Los Angeles freeway.

One word: Sangria!
Stable is a staple of the Providence gay nightlife scene. If you want to have a good night, you start your evening there. It’s always a great crowd and the staff is amazing, lead by the one and only Michael S. The only thing I don’t like is on a weekend when it gets super busy, you end up being shoulder to shoulder. I personally don’t enjoy the proximity to others but it’s always worth it with a group of your friends! I try to make it at least once a week!

$ 4 beers. Be prepared to get stared at if you’re straight. Mind your own business and you’ll have a wonderful time.
Loved the large screen at the back of the house playing old school pop music videos (think Britney, Vengaboys, etc.) and go have a great time!

Ok… so I completely didn’t notice the «gay bar» label when we were Unilocaling for a good place for drinks… which shortly became quite apparent when all of the patrons were male and this bartenders were equally well oiled, tanned, and muscle bound. That being said, this was one of the most interesting bars that I’ve visited in a long time. The place definitely has a bar/​club vibe and it was near immaculate. The drinks were very affordable and there’s even a ginormous tv near the end of he bar with awesome 90s music video on the background.
Overall, I would definitely come back again and recommend everyone to come for for a great time and cheap drinks.

«It’s always a good time!»
A small little hole-​in-​the-​wall transformed into owner Michael’s cowboy/​stable fantasy. Allows for a large group of patrons to enjoy the atmosphere with tasty cocktails. The bartenders are always very courteous and knowledgeable, using the latest cutting-​edge recipes to keep us all coming back for more!
I’ve had many good experiences here at The Stable with my friends and even my mother! The music videos are always current (unless it’s an 80’s retro special) and entertaining!
Here’s to many more years of business!
