Charming, clean, quiet, cozy, and comfortable! Dave and I lucked out to find a B&B for only two nights before the start of Carnival! The West End Inn is located a short walk from downtown along Commercial Street in the quieter west end of Provincetown. It consists of only 7 rooms, ranging from singular stand-along room entrance through main house to huge top floor sleeps several, private porch to single room with minimal kitchen and private entrance through garden. When Dave and I first arrived at this Inn, Warren, the Inn-keeper, welcomed us by name since we communicated our arrival time and he knew we had bikes with us. It seemed that everyone was arriving at the same time, but Warren was attentive and kind and made sure we were absolutely comfortable with the arrangement. Of course we were! And also, it’s important to mention that this was my first B&B experience ever. «We try to exceed our guests expectations,» was a direct quote from Warren. «We» being his team: himself, Andre and Olga. And exceed he did! THEROOM Dave and I stayed in the room with the partial kitchen and private garden entrance. It was simply dressed but had an old world yet contemporary charm that was perfect! Amenities included a TV, DVD player, Stereo, ceiling fan, sm fridge, sink, microwave, coffee maker, bathroom with towels and general bathroom items like shampoo and conditioner. THEBREAKFAST Warren spoiled us with a healthful breakfast of fresh fruit, whole milk Dannon Crème(holy yum), muffins, strong coffee, and three choices of juice. THESERVICE Our room was cleaned on the first morning of our stay. Fresh towels, freshly made bed … certainly unnecessary but welcomed and enjoyed! Warren also allowed us to keep our bags in the back of the house on the day we left so we didn’t have to drag our things while we waited for the 3:00 ferry. On bike, this wouldn’t be fun… And when we returned to pick everything up, Dave and I enjoyed our delicious deli sandwiches from Relish on Warren’s front yard in the shade of an umbrella at the table. We realized then, how lucky we were to be at the Inn. It was the perfect weekend hideaway. Rooms were pricey and landing a reservation was pure luck, but I would definitely return to West End Inn if given the opportunity.
