This place is so fun. I love bringing my kids here. They have stuff for every age, including adults like me. One part that is really cool is they have a couple of fridges of craft sodas. Also, just found out that on Monday nights from 6:30 to 8:30pm you can come in and try out any game they have.

Fun place to get all sorts of candy, games and toys. You will appreciate the large selection they have of old time games and toys for sale. Small kids will love this place. Check it out and let us know what you think?

I’d been in Blickenstaffs before and always though it was a cute and charming toy store. I like to get gifts here for my kids where you are not bombarded by a bunch of junk. However, I always felt like the store was a little cluttered — not messy, but it always seemed a little disorganized, with paper signs taped to boxes of products, etc. I’ve worked in sales and retail for 20 years, so those things matter to me. However, I was in this week and was AMAZED at how good the store looked. I don’t know if there is new management but there has been a marked improvement. Overall the store is neater and more well merchandised. There are some new decorative elements, like the giant t-rex and giant rocking horse that my kids were crazy about and some cool artwork and giant paper flowers that I appreciated. They’ve also brought in an antique calidascope which doesn’t seem to be working yet, but I will definitely be back to see when it is. The best part is the new book nook! Completely adorable, with astro-turf carpet and little chairs for kids to sit and flip through books. The book selection seemed really thoughtful and well curated — lots of titles I want to get for my kids. Whoever thought of adding this to the store was a GENIUS. Since Borders closed, there has been no where to get kids books in east Provo without driving all the way to the Barnes and Noble in Orem. Well done, Blickenstaffs! I will definitely be back!

Fun store to browse around at, but prices are quite exorbitant. If you can find it at another store or online, almost guaranteed it will be cheaper elsewhere. Also beware that if you buy anything and return it, they only will give you store credit.

i don’t know if there are any other independent toy stores in the area, but this is the only one i know of. i refuse to take my child into toys ‘r us, because i feel like it’s a temper tantrum waiting to happen. like all good independent toy stores, blickenstaff’s has a lot of ‘sample’ toys out for parents and kids to play with and try out. with the high prices that small-box toy stores have to charge, this is really the only way to go. they have a lot of great toys that you don’t see, even at the larger toy stores. and a lot of the toys they carry are of better quality too. blickenstaff’s also carries hard-to-find candy and sodas, which i think is pretty cool. overall, this is one of our favorite places to stop by at the riverwoods. i recently purchased my daughter the calico critters townhome and panda family, and she got 4 different rooms to go with it. she absolutely loves them, and they are great toys for her to grow up with. parts are small, so i still have to keep some of it boxed up until she gets older or mature enough to not scatter them. but i appreciate the quality and thought behind how this particular toy set was made. also, i got 20% off this set, because i called in to find out about their black friday discount day. not sure if they have a website up yet(to find out about deals and such), but hopefully that will be in the works soon. they do have some kind of birthday club that you can sign up for, and i think you get a discount on candy or something that day. maybe one day they will incorporate more events as a way to showcase their store a little bit more(i.e. storytime, music-time).
