Buffets can be meh, and I can’t say that about Chuck A Rama. The hot legs. supremely awesome, and everything else is pretty good. I love buffets, being able to surround myself with 4 different drinks and just heap a ton of food on the plates, and I gotta say, I usually finish the food here pretty easily. Well done Chuck A Rama, well done.

Group of six — none of us are from Utah. Heard about this buffet and we were pleased… it could have been because we were STARVING after flying for hooooouuuuuurs. I live in a household where we mostly eat Asian food on a daily basis. So having this buffet filled with American food was wonderful. It’s not the greatest food, but the selection and variety is great. Drink selection is good too! They have horchata and orange bang, pepsi products, juices. All you can eat, all you can drink. Prices are good… there’s a SENIOR discount that starts at age 60(don’t remember the price though). It get’s crowded, but they seat fairly quickly. Staff is friendly.

Today we stopped in at the University Chuck A Rama driving clear from Colorado we were starving so anything should of tasted great to us… We got our food and everything was dry, doughy or hard and dried out such as the Pork Porks the Hot fudge Cake And the Apple Cake. The rolls were doughy and cold, food was bland the enchiladas had no taste whatsoever and we never complain… We asked to talk to the manager, which he came over to the table we told him we didn’t expect anything we just wanted him to know how horrible the food was today. We told him even the rice pudding that I love was just plain runny. Our server said yes he agreed he had a pork Chop today and it was really dry and he agreed the rice pudding was runny. The manager just looked at us like we he didn’t really want to hear this before that perhaps he had heard it too many times! So disappointed manager didn’t care at all that we were so unhappy with our food… We told him we were going to have to stop and get a hamburger down the road because we couldn’t eat anything! No reimbursement, no apology, no nothing from the manager… We will NEVERGOTHEIRAGAIN. NASTY!

Extremely overpriced for what you get. $ 41.99 for 3 people. Mediocre quality and selection. Good sticky buns.

Love chucks, or carb-a-rama as we call it. Typical buffet, but quality to me is above average. Go on Sunday to get meat options but pay more of course. I have always gotten good service here the waitstaff has been helpful if only to fetch drinks and take away plates. I wish they did a breakfast spread. Great dessert options too.

I am here in Utah County with my family for the holidays. With me I was craving Chuck-A-Rama and for me I can pick foods that I can eat. I should have asked for a full refund back after what I observed with the one of the workers did at the salad bar. 1st Strike she was dumbing new food on top of old food. So I you go make sure you only take from the top. 2nd Strike, the same employee place the tongs on the serving shelf were people touch, lay there plates down. Now the tongs on lying on this shelf, after she filled the item she reached down and place those tongs right back in food in the salad bar. Let just say this is cross contamination and it not healthy for anyone. 3rd Strike I brought this up to the manager on duty and he took off to the back of the restaurant. Was there any correction done at the salad bar, NO just poor souls taken food and was not wise to what happen. Then watch them take fried chicken and place it on top on old cook chicken. This is also health hazard and not good for people. Who know how long some of those chicken pieces been seating there. If I was there as a health inspector, they would have been shut done right there on the spot. I know restaurant do have faults, but this is major faults in the eye of the public all ends. They do have great hot fresh rolls that are great. If was rating on the rolls I would give them a 5 star. But I want seen I wish I could do a –5 stars.

excellent selection but a little steep. $ 12 for a 13 year old is expensive.

I am not a fan. I only went there once, and the smell of the food was closer to that of vomit. I won’t be going back.

I think Chucks gets unfairly judged. Maybe it’s the name. Maybe it’s because it’s a buffet. But, Chucks has recently become a staple for our lunch group. We often leave other places complaining about how much we’ve paid for a mediocre meal and say, «Man, we could have had a MUCH better meal and paid less at Chucks!» That said, it’s still a buffet. Adjust your expectations accordingly. Service — It’s fine. The only real service you get is your server/busser taking away your dirty plates and fulfilling drink requests. They are efficient and friendly. Food — They have daily themes(Mexican, Chinese, etc.) that may deter you. Don’t let it. They have so many regular go-to foods that it doesn’t matter what the theme of the day is. Most of their food is at least average. Pick and choose your favorites. If it’s a food you don’t like, don’t get it or move onto something better. There’s a huge drink selection and it’s included in the price unlike Golden Corral. Some of my personal go-to foods(lunch hour) are: mashed potatoes and gravy* fried chicken*(hot, crispy on the outside, and moist and tender on the inside) the salad bar*(make a chicken salad with the fried chicken if you want!) the rolls*(especially good when piping hot) scones with honey butter* boneless pork chops carrot cake*(their recipe is on their website) ice cream*(soft serve machine) cinnamon pull-aparts with carmely, drizzly goodness*(that’s what we call them) chicken-fried steak *always available Miscellaneous — Clean. Decent restrooms. There’s occasionally a bit of a line to pay and get in. But, paying up front means you’re not held hostage waiting for your bill and you can leave when you want. There are plent of old-timers who are fun to talk to, but occasionally slow you down when you’re making your move for some food. =) Give it a go! Maybe it’ll become one of your staples, too.

As a visitor to Utah, we found Chuck-a-rama buffett. The prices were reasonable — $ 10.99 per person, it included food and a beverage bar. The offered a good variety of meat including chicken, tri-tip, and a pretty good beef stew. They also offer a variety of breads and side dishes, a huge beverage bar including slushes, and dessert bar. The food was good for it being a buffett. However the atmosphere was a lot of children and crying babies.

My roommate and I have been on a buffet kick. Last week it was Sweet Tomatoes, this week it was Chuck-a-Rama. She told me how much she likes it, especially since your drink is inluded in the $ 10.99 charge for buffet, and what makes it even better is that they have Apple Beer on tap. If the drink had something other than«beer» in the title, I don’t think as many people would crave it so much. Perhaps some Mormons just want to feel like they’re being bad by drinking«beer,» even though it’s essentially the same thing as martinelli’s, just not for the city folk. Hmm… Anyway, the environment is really interesting. We went at around 6:00 and the line was already really long to get a table. And what is with the senior population here? Holy crap, those guys come out in full force for a buffet. And I thought that most old people didn’t eat that much. I found a wide variety of people at this joint. I’ll just list the ones that stood out the most to me: — The girl with stenciled eyebrows wearing a tshirt that read«Los Angeles» in calligrapy. She was with her baby daddy. They kept reaching across the table over their turkey and gravy to kiss every freaking minute. — Again, the mass amount of old people! We were surrounded! At first I thought that we were placed in a section catered to old people, but I guess not because I had to sit by that chick mentioned above. — The family of 6, all kids under the age of 5, wanting to eat everything at every«station» but only eating a fraction of a plate’s worth. I don’t want this to come across as derogatory toward old people. I love old people. They’re great. My grandmother’s old. My mom’s going to be there soon enough; and yes, even I will eventually get there. But by the time I got to that buffet line, I was freaking ravenous. I didn’t want to be held up by indecisive old people who couldn’t choose between the fried shrimp and the popcorn shrimp. It’s a buffet! Get both! Actually — it’s a buffet, don’t get either. I don’t trust seafood at a buffet. It reminds me of the movie Drop Dead Gorgeous(those who have viewed the movie know what I’m talking about). Overall, the food was decent. The choices for salad toppings was poor — they didn’t even have cucumbers. The meat was decent. Unfortunately, that’s one of the main reasons we came here. Sweet Tomatoes is a soup and salad buffet, and this place has a lot of meat, so we were looking forward to that. I was a little disappointed, but I guess I should hold too high of a standard for a place called«Chuck-a-Rama». I mean really. The dessert bar didn’t look very appetizing, so I stuck with three rice krispies treats. Not too shabby — wow, I’m easy to please when it comes to sweets. The thing that I really like about Chuck-a-Rama were the french rolls. So good, so moist. mmm… I can’t say I’m itching to come back. Sweet Tomatoes is a way better alternative, health– and quality-wise. But I guess if you go primarily for the people watching, it’s top notch!
