This needs to be UPDATED! Kew’s is great, but they have moved to OREM, across from University Mall and behind Arby’s in a little strip mall to the south. They are in the last unit, number 190, if memory serves. Okay. I looked it up for you. It is: 1160 S State St #190, Orem, UT84097 (801) 373‑5873 Open 10:15AM — 6:00PM Mon-Fri Closed weekends. After reading the reviews, I must point out that they are BUSY. Very busy, but this is because they are good. It’s a Mom & Pop shop; one of few left in this world of big box shopping. When you take your camera in for repair, I recommend 1) Specify the date by which you need it, and get a commitment. 2) Call a day or two prior to that date to ensure he’s still on track 3) Remember, camera repair is a dying art, and make no mistake, doing it right is artistry. This man is an artist. Be thankful. Your cameras and lenses are in the best possible hands.

Steve at Kew’s was so kind and communicated with me every step of the way when repairing my film camera. He was very knowledgable and quick to repair. Totally recommend his services.

I agree with the other reviewer. Very unprofessional. I’m pretty sure that he completely forgot about my camera. After several calls, I finally got my camera two weeks after he said it would be done. Both employees I worked with were very rude. Will not use Kew’s again.

Kews is great. Kews is a small, independently owned camera repair shop worth the hour long haul to Provo. The gentleman that runs the place has been repairing cameras for a LONG time. My D700 was«ungluing» and needed repair. The first time I went in, I had to drop off a camera and pick it up in a week. No problem. The second time(gee, I should have had the other portion changed out when I did the first part!), I was told to wait. I did. Price difference? When I called another SLC area repair shop, they wanted«x» dollars to examine camera, «x» dollars for repair, and«x» for the part. I think the total was going to be in the $ 70 range. At Kews? $ 30. Unfortunately, Nikon has made it difficult for the good little guys to buy Nikon parts. I’m hoping Kews has the part I need on hand– as I’ll be down there next week to have another small repair done.

I would LOVE to give these guys one star. They are professional*. They know what they are doing. They’ve done it for years. I’m in the process of having my second and«final» lens repaired here. I took the lens in almost 2 months ago. They told me it would be after Christmas; «fine», I said. 10 days ago I called in and he said he would finish it by the end of the week and call me. Fast-forward 10 days — I call back and the guy is short with me. Me. I’m not the one that made any promises. I don’t care about the excuses. Don’t make a commitment you can’t follow through on. And don’t blame. Treat me like you don’t want to lose my business. You didn’t. .. so you did. 2 months is far too long to wait for a lens. Communication and explanations in advance are far better than excuses and impatience with the customer.
